Glad to see they are changing the scenarios target.

Very easy to see why they thought the original number was doable if they took a one month snapshot then October would have been the latest month they had which is very soon after TSW4 released. 3 new routes with many people doing the scenarios before the timetable could easily result in a 50:50 split between the two, but once those scenarios are done you rarely go back and re-do them, which is why the timetable target was reached incredibily quickly as it's probably a 90:10 split in favour of timetable services by now.

 

One concern which came to my mind after thinking about it last night is that it's also important to take into account the parallel challenges sharing the same time period (deadline), but of course one player only can dedicate his/her playtime to one of each challenge.

The kilometer challenge wasn't affected by that because doesn't matter whether you play timetable services or scenarios, you affect the 1st challenge, but not so for the other two with each other.

You only could play scenarios or timetables, so one player only had time to go by one but not two (both) at the same time. So even if you go by the amount of active players, you need to divide this amount equally for each challenge, but not take it as a whole for both.

If you used data from last year, this circumstance might didn't influenced your set limit here, but is very important.

 

I think the scenarios are something lots of people will do once for the completion then leave them behind (are you able to see data for replayed scenarios?)

After the first completion I think the next biggest source of scenario playing comes from the journey mode.

Personally I play very few scenarios now outside of mastery unlocks (even then I struggle to find the desire to do them). I did around 4 scenarios in the past week and I think that’s the most I’ve ever done in that sort of timescale.

I would be surprised if the data showed that scenarios were really as popular as the timetable, given they were both 36k required in the challenge.

I knew it! But personally I did what I could regarding the scenarios, it was cool to participate towards the goal.

 

Very good! That gave me too much of a laugh and I don't know why. Looking forward to the stream tomorrow, I just hope the dodgy interent in Peak District holds up!

just one more piece of advice would be, if either of you go into TV I would recommend documentaries rather than dramas!

 

How do I participate in the mastery challenge exactly? And are the decals only available for a few days each or can they all be achieved at any time?

18th December was yesterday, also looked up the training centre but couldn't find the festive scenery tile in training center. How do I get these?

 

Click on the Live tab on the main menu, then mastery, there should be a Festive Challenges 2023 box. Once you complete Tier 4 you unlock the training centre scenery tile.

The tiers are:
Tier 1
Complete 1 Timetable
Reach 80mph / 128kph

Tier 2
Earn 500 XP
Complete 1 Scenario

Tier 3
Walk 1 mile / 1.6km
Drive 10 miles / 16km

Tier 4
Complete 2 Scenarios or Timetables
Drive 20 miles / 32km

 

Anyone know where to find this, or has it been forgotten?

Well that is a very interesting admission, another data point for those who feel the franchise is losing steam.

I do find it interesting that, for all its bad press, SoS seems to get played a lot by TSW3 owners.

 

Perhaps due to it's inclusion to one of the base packages.

 

Hello everyone, stiil trying to reach 1st TIER of that challenge on xBox
Tier 1
Complete 1 Timetable - already done 2 different timetables
Reach 80mph / 128kph - had 160 kph in 2 different, also with ice 4 faster

but thee is no change in that challenge TIAR box.
Similar with that elf, that latest scenario finished, but no clearance in mastery

These have been buggy when I was doing them on Xbox 1X, maybe try logging out and back in again, restarting the XB and see what happens.

 

Is this year's festive Training Center scenery tile the same one from last year's Christmas mastery challenge? I've completed Tier 4 of the 2023 Christmas Mastery Challenge but don't see any additional mastery tile (I've unlocked both 2022 Christmas and 2023 Easter mastery tiles).

The contest has been over for a while now so winners would have been notified by now. They aren't going to publicly announce it. They never have even in past giveaways.

 

In the mastery section, I can find no festive challenges 2023 box, only the mastery challenges for the routes. I guess the deadline aleady went by on 22nd janury at 0:00 am CET?

I know I'm a bit late but had so much going on that I still didn't complete the mastery challenge. Now, I remembered today that the mastery challenge is still valid up to today.

Well, anyways thank you for the challenge DTG even if I missed it (fault completely on mine). I try to not wait until the deadline next time.
