It takes over a minute for tsw to load. I have all content released so far, so I am presuming loading times are due to the amount of code to load up.am I correct and I haven't got a problem.
Do u mean the main loading of the game? If so then its the same for me (xbox), and i dont have all the content released, but then it doesnt bother me about loading time cause i can make a brew in the time it takes to load
You don't have a problem... Over a minute happens sometimes, and it really isn't long to wait. Download Train Sim 2019 and a few large routes on the PC and you could be waiting 10 minutes or more just to drive one of those routes.
On PC load time is impacted most by the speed of your storage device. Laptops tend to have slower 5400RPM drives as do the consoles so load times tend to suffer in comparison to the average PC which will be using a higher speed 7200RPM drive if not an SSD.
The initial boot time on PS4 is ridiculous and the 'press any button' prompt never works unless you spam it. What makes it worse is the white DTG splash screen that blinds you while it loads for 2 minutes. Definitely an issue starting up.
Load time is rather slow for the xbox as well, I currently have installed about 1/2 the content that is currently available.
I've not noticed it, but I only have one route added, and I do have an SSD in my PS4 (absolutely worth the upgrade, to be fair). I saw the PS5 loading time demos in the week, and they were well impressive (if Sony can pull it off).
Wouldn't be surprised if they put an SSD or two in the PS5 to solve this one because games and DLC only ever get bigger and people's impatience only gets smaller
So, we have established that loading times are not 'slow' for any of us, but the same standard. Which is good. With regards to button mashing the 'press any button's - that doesn't sound right, I have never had an issue.
I have found it does seem to take longer the more dlc I have installed (I have all dlc on xbox btw). Maybe it's just my imagination. But loading services seems quicker....
Whenever you boot up TSW just expect a one minute load time just to get everything ready for you to drive.
Anyone notice sometimes in the top left hand corner of the DTG white splash screen it says ‘installing’? Assuming this is where it gets new screenshots, store updates etc. If so, this checking of various bits could cause the delay
I have, and I always wondered what it's about. It seems to appear at random, not connected to any patch or new release.
I tend not to pay much attention to such things, and I have nothing to compare it to. I'd be surprised if there were. I upgraded when my stock disk was full, and went for SSD because I don't trust mechanical disks to not fail. The loading time reduction was just a bonus.
Most console games of the current gen are very slow in terms of loading times. When I play Sea of Thieves my friend is on an old Xbox and has to wait for ages to load, while I'm on a high-spec PC and loading doesn't take longer than 30-40 seconds. For him, I would say at least 1,5 minutes, maybe 2. A game like TSW which is a port from a still young game engine will also struggle as well but it's not that bad overall.
Indeed it's not the worst and considering that most (if not all) of the devs for DTG don't specialise in console development, its not badly done. 1 thing is certain, the quality will only get better the more they work on it
