This would most likely require dtg to start from scratch since everything has to be rebuilt for ue5. With an already large collection, it would take years to update every single piece of dlc which can also cause a bunch of problems when bringing them over to ue5 as history tells. It would be difficult convincing everyone to rebuy their collection.
No dropping of Gen 8 or upgrading to UE5 please. 1) Dropping Gen 8 would alienate players such as myself. Very much doubt they want to lose my money. 2) An upgrade to UE5 would result in the loss of all existing content as everything would need to be rebuilt from scratch.
Eventually dtg will have to stop supporting gen 8 later down the line. That could be a few years or maybe even a decade. Look at all the new games that are next gen exclusive and the possibilty of a ps6 and xbox series gen 2 releases. Eventually, it will have to be dropped like how the older xbox consoles like the 360 and ps3 did. Change is hard for everyone.
Ngl, upgrading to UE5 is just going to bring on extra unneeded chaos, aka you won't be able to bring anything before the UE5 upgrade along. People have paid ALOT of money at this point, for DTG to just go "Welp, deal with it." Is just going to go south pretty quickly. Another thing is, I don't know where this obsession with UE5 comes from. It may look pretty good from what we've seen on Demos and upcoming games, but it won't fix the held together by ductape game that is TSW. In fact, it might just worsen things as developers would need to get used to UE5 depending on how different it is. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, I'm just saying that as of right now, I dont think it'll be a good idea. Only way I could see it working out is if they add way more than just 3 routes to the game since you're basically starting over without your previous DLCs. Aswell as a pretty strong 3rd party community that could add on additional content. Imo, the best way to y'know... Improve the game is by inhale Fixing the game. There's just so many bugs and glitches that still yet have to be fixed atp, there's also a plethora of actual achievable QoL improvements that they could add FOR FREE to improve the experience. The Fact that it took them so long to add a Free Roam Mode and that they YET are to implement a Formation maker in a Train Sim is crazy to me.

Your thread title should contain the suggestion, not just "TSW4". It will be skipped by DTG otherwise.
I would love Bedford to Brighton via London Bridge however it does seem very long and it may be to big a challenge for DTG
I do not wish to be rude, this suggestion thread does indeed have great ideas. However... I believe you have already posted this somewhere before, the title needs to be less vague and these aren't really improvements for the game, they are suggestions for additions to it. Improvements would be improving the game itself, like bug fixes or quality of life upgrades.
May have already said this in the other thread you posted (with the exact same post and title), but you're asking for way too much. It's not realistic, and none of them are really "improvements" more than extensions to existing routes.
I do agree with you however I would like Bedford to Brighton via London Bridge. They could implement the southern at Londkn Bridge on timetable mode and have class 700's towards Brighton

It is an extensive route which may indices people from areas on this route to play it or anyone around the world.
I think that eventually will be a lot sooner than 10 years, by that point the 9th Gen may be 2-3 gens out of date. possibly next year the phase out may start, probably by an iteration, I can’t see it being over 3 years at all in my perspective.
I don't even know if this was intended as I understand it, but to sell a route extension coupled with a new featured loco for the entire route, is actually an interesting idea. This would be one motivation more for the customers to purchase a route extension, even if DTG would sell a route extension for a high price around a usual DLC.
