Yes, its a 1st gen DMU, yes it has gears to change etc but hear me out...

The Class 104 would be very useful for TSW current crop of releases and a future one. These rattly old units saw use around many parts of the UK during their career but are most commonly associated with the Buxton area which they saw use on right up until the advent of Sprinters in the mid to late 80s. 104s didnt just work Buxton services they also appeared at Manchester Victoria on various trains to places such as Blackpool.

They would in Green be great for the Peak Forest add on.

In Blue for NTP and The Blackpool Branch addon and could appear on WSR also.

Plenty exist in Preservation which could be useful for Sound recordings and the reliance on the 101 as the sole 1st Gen unit could be relaxed a bit.

Yeah I wouldn't mind this. Although I haven't driven the 101 in a while its still fun when I do. I don't understand why people don't like it, it a takes practice but it's easy once you get the hang of it.

Good idea but as someone who owns 101 what’s unique about this that would make me think it’s a good idea

Brilliant suggestion, to me if this doesn't get made at some point I'll be shocked as the number of routes these could run on is immense and really would be a more than worthwhile dlc.

You can also add a Blue/Grey* one for Scotland - should a developer create a 1980s route for TSW - and a Network SouthEast one, should a developer create a 1980/1990s version of the Great Western Mainline.

    * Also gives the community the opprtunity to knock up a version of the "Mexican Bean" set!

If you're lucky enough to get a diesel gala, with the option to drive a 1st Gen DMU, do it! You'll get taught the idiosyncrasies of driving one; which is not dissimilar to that of driving a car.

Their use was very wide spread; meaning options for different locations and liveries.

They were never refurbished, so require few alterations, internally, to adhere to the timeframe of the DLC they're running on.

The option is also there to produce a class 110, as the two classes are very similar (one vehicle even inherited a class 104 cab roof, when it's own was damaged!); adding to the variety on the NTP DLC.
