Imagine if they did an LNER Class 91 for the ECML? That would be drool worthy, and yes they fit the game ECML timeframe too.
At a minimum I'm suspecting we'll find out what the new Rivet Games' UK route is, and see some previews for the Goblin line and the Peak Forest expansion. Certainly for UK content, there will be far more 3rd party highlights than anything from DTG at the moment it seems.
Only 2 more days to go people! As everyone can gather from the pfp I love my Aventra's haha but I'm hoping for some good photos and videos of the 710.
My opinion just from reading the first few posts and seeing other leaks and articles. Dovetail UK Route: Goblin Line Rivet UK Route: West Highland Line (Crianlarich to Fort William (and/or) Oban) with a Class 156. ATS: WCML? Maybe north Wales coastal? Ethier way I'm hoping it'll feature some Avanti stock. JT Rivera line? Can I see this leak? Maybe Skyhook could do that chase line, which would be quite cool. I'd very much like a class 350 in the game.
A class 91 would make little financial sense, you'd have to model the MK4 and DVT as well, and then you are limited to one route only. A more sound choice would be a loco or unit that can be layered into a number of current routes to increase playability. The Class 67 Diesel, 156 DMU or 153 DMU maybe.
It doesn't make sense to not have the Class 91 on it's home route, particularly while its still in service, and there's always opportunity for other sections of the ECML to come.
Apart from the fact the class 91 is a beloved icon on the ECML, and many people will buy it instantly? Would certainly be more popular than a 156, or 153.
Not to me. 156's are my local and the scotrail class 153 livery looks amazing. But yes, I'm sure everyone else would prefer a 91. To have them both though would be even better!
Because you were responding to someone who was making predictions for another New Journeys pack, which recycle old locos for new routes?
I'm kind of hoping we get something notable from DTG in all honesty as I don't feel like their TSW4 entries have really taken off yet. But we shall see. Wishlist would be more from JT and a steam developer but we shall see
A brief reminder of the point of the thread... It's not about what you want, it's about what you think is coming ...and another reminder that you aren't obliged to respond to every single person who disagrees with you. I recommend making liberal use of the ignore function.
156 and the bike carrier 153 too. Would much prefer the route from Helensburgh though That would be the dream
33 miles to Oban and 35 to Fort William. That actually could work if rivet (or another company) put in the effort! Personally I think north of helensbrugh is FAR more scenic. But you could get a nice network going with Glasgow Queen Street to Helensbrugh Upper & Helensbrugh Central.
I give it a go too ! UK: -Class 104 Teaser -Goblin Line Release date or at least more pictures of it. -HOA Aggregate wagons from Skyhook along a Class 60 (Not sure for the 60 but let's see...) -Announcement of a new loco from Skyhook (222 ?) -Announcement of a new route from JT (Riviera Line maybe or the Metropolitan line as they did it in TSC) -Announcement of the new route from ATS (WCML maybe ? + a Voyager) ? -Announcement of the new route from Rivet DE: -Salzburg Route Relase date or more pictures of it -Teaser of a new loco from TSG (218 ? 232 ?) -A new loco from DTG (The one removed from the roadmap) -Annoucement of a new route from DTG US: -Another not-interesting gameplay pack -LIRR 2.0 from DTG -A new loco from DTG -A new freight route ? Misc: -Confirmation of the Union Workshop route maybe...
It might be too early for jt to announce anything considering Blackpool released only 3 months ago and there was a long holiday. Not even the December roadmap had anything regarding what they are doing
I see a few people commenting on the fact that the LNER Class 43 HST wouldn't be appropriate as it was retired in the same year as the route was set, and that the 91 would make little financial sense given the amount of modelling it would require. On the subject of the 91, this very quickly became one of the highest demanded locos I have ever seen in TSW history. From the moment ECML was revealed in the TSW4 announcement, calls for the 91 have appeared pretty much every time the ECML is mentioned. This would, without a doubt, be a very fast bestseller (provided whoever makes it doesn't do an awful job...) As for the HST, cast your mind back to the long string of content released for Southeastern High Speed. With years indicated, we had: Route (2022) Base timetable (2019) RHTT (2003 - Present) Class 37/7 Towing white 375s (2015 - 2018) Class 700 (2016 - Present) Not all of these timescales line up perfectly, specifically the 37/7 and the fact that we still now see white 375s in service, albeit in a minority compared to the blue ones. This is something that DTG acknowledged in the reveal articles for that addon, citing that the timetables were fundamentally the same and that the inconsistencies were minor enough to be ignored for the sake of gameplay. This is to say, even if it was mostly withdrawn in the year the route is set, I could 100% see them having every reason to release an LNER HST into regular service on the route. Let's just imagine a dream world of true variety, where you could see a train coming up on the map and instead of just instantly knowing it's an 801, you get to guess if it's an 801, 800, 91 or 43...
They could clone the timetable (assuming that’s a thing, pretty sure it is) for the HST allowing those who buy it to use it on the same but separate timetable and have the original timetable be without. can’t see the 91 being overly expensive to model, don’t think theirs anything overly unique to make it that way.
Crainlarich is a woeful end point for any WHL route tbh. It basically swords the route into three (Crainlarich - Oban, Crainlarich - Fort William, Crainlarich - the south) and it's just a wee bit too far from Glasgow for Glasgow-Crianlarich to be feasable. Fort William - Mallaig is probably the most likely part of the WHL to ever come to TSW. TSC had it easier.
They couldn't reuse any assets from elsewhere on it. The 91 is a new loco in the game and it hauls MK4 coaches and a DVT, all of which would be entirely new things. They could copy physics profiles perhaps, but new models and sound recording would be necessary across the board. I imagine it would be comparable to the workload of the Class 700 add-on overall.
seems quite similar to the Acela for me and there was no particular concern in it being out of reach due to cost. edit or even the 43 when it was first made or the ICE
Shame really. I really like the Oban branch. But yes, concidering the extra rolling stock options, the famousness (if that's a word) of the section of line and the fact it is the best start and end point you'll get on whl without driving for 5 hours and making basically the full route.
No it wouldn't be costly, it just wouldn't be as simple as redressing an already existing asset as with the ROG 37/7 or the BNSF SD70ACe for example. Doesn't in any way make it impossible, they've certainly done such addons before, and there's certainly enough demand for it.
One can dream. Being fixed, being compatible with the 142 and 158 for coupling... that would be lovely.
As I suggested earlier in the thread, Rivet could do the Ebbw Valley line in Wales with the 150…could be a good opportunity to fix it…we can hope!
In terms of service frequency I guess Glasgow to Crianlarich or more likely start at Craigendoran would be the best bet. My preference obviously the loco hauled era with Class 27/37 transition period top of the list. The Mallaig route would be great but I don't see it happening with 4 trains a day each way and, again depending on period, a bit of freight traffic in the Fort William and Corpach areas.
Lots of circumstantial evidence at this point. Would seem to indicate the release being pretty soon if achievements are already loaded. Maybe they'll do a stealth release at the end of the Dovetail direct?
At this point there is no denying the new route is another LIRR route. So basically we are waiting for details on Sunday.
Just hope they fixed the clearance for the obstacle deflector/pilot on the front of the M3 so it's not sinking into the railhead.
Interestingly my PS5 trophy list hasn't been updated yet so I guess this is only on PS4, but either way, this is definitive proof that it's coming. Now we just have to wait and see what's included
If I had to guess, for the US, it’s going to be a passenger route and not a freight route. And that route will either be east coast like New York (LIRR2?) or California (another commuter route). The US loco will probably be something to complement an existing route or a new one they are announcing.
With scenarios and free roam. I don't think Devs will be so bothered about lack of services. Besides, just means they could maybe throw in some extra scenarios.
