Rather disappointed in Goblin line. Thought we might've got a freight depot with a class 70 on the route.
Lots of candy again, go buy it. Only interesting thing will be to see if there are fixes on the roadmap, and also again when we get a working Editor.
Honestly, some excellent choices for routes in this one, and I was overjoyed to see Japan finally making an appearance! It was funny seeing the chat rage over the route choice not being a high speed line - in real life, much of Japan’s rail infrastructure is made of rural, suburban and mixed routes like this one, which is why I think it’s an ideal choice for the first Japanese route in-game. I played Union Workshop’s TSC routes a lot, so being able to see one in the new engine will be a lot of fun
Personally I think that were a bit of a let down. I knew about GOBLIN and how uninterested I were in it, knew about the 104, and admittedly that is the best thing to be revealed. Fife Circle should be alright but from what I gather only incudes a 170 and the 158 is a separate purchase. Last year it were much more interesting and seemed to have more meat to it, but this year I have found it a let down to be honest. Rivet had better not mess the 170 or the route up though as the last thing we want is another class 150/2 situation.
The long list of new third parties was impressive, looks like we can expect a lot more content later this year.
Interesting the list of 3rd parties that was reeled off at the end. Hopefully these will be producing rolling stock and locos that can be layered in. Looks like the future DLC output is only going to increase, which is great news.
I too thought both were included. I believe DTG Matt was saying that Rivet have taken from Skyhook's depot of DLC, and it was really interesting to see both third parties working together. I too got confused by that and thought for a brief moment that it was a separate purchase.
Let’s hope Rivet learned their lesson from the 150, don’t let those AP sounds be screwed by poor physics
I am sure that it what Matt said. That being Skyhook releasing the 158 in it's own pack and Rivet doing the route. I will rewind and check.
Agreed, quite a few new names for TSW, although they were going to the list pretty fast. Hopefully brings us some more cool stuff.
Some of the stuff we knew about was confirmed as expected. The Austrian route looks promising. Fife Circle was almost inevitable so it is nice to see that. The Peak Forest pack I thought might be further along but nobody wants them to rush it, it’s quite important. Of course leaving the stream running and seeing what’s coming for TSC is not good for my soul. I’m not about to go out and buy a PC and then get TSC though, too much for me, with there being a billion DLC for me to want. It’s bad enough wanting to get everything in TSW.
Matt's words were ' Between the two developers across a couple of packs you are going to have a whole Scotrail collection of trains there to add to your collection'.
The guy talking through it is the third party liason (or whatever his title is). I'd expect as more people jump on board and make content that TSW will likely follow suit in the next few years.
Tadami! Not really a high density commuter, but the scenery will be nice. I'll be awaiting its release. In the meantime I'll probably play on it a couple of times in TSC. As for the Fife Circle, I was going to play on it tonight (also in TSC), as a got for it a scenario pack just a couple of hours ago.
Indeed, the article will be coming out at approximately 20:00 UTC, but I am fairly certain there is nothing left on the stream.
Quite a lot of nice stuff to see, the scenery on the goblin line sounding/looking good, German Austrian routes looking good, 104 sounding like something I would be picking up, Class 170 I quite like but no plans to purchase any dlc till Z-Fighting Fix, full stop.
Japanese route is a big W, everything else I'm kinda underwhelmed by, first party offerings especially
There might be less announcements than last year but maybe that isn't a bad thing. I am sure this isn't it for this year anyway! The renders of the class 104 looks good, I can't wait to drive it on the Peak Forest route. It sounds like the timetable is going to be amended too so hopefully it will be more immersive. The GOBLIN which we knew about of course, from the screenshots looks good, it looks like it might be quite detailed, the class 710 looks pretty impressive. I wasn't expecting Fife Circle, it should be an interesting choice though, hopefully the class 170 will have decent sounds, it will be good to have a class 170 in the sim. I like the look of the Rosenheim to Salzburg route, especially the class 111, the Austrian route looks like it could be a lovely route to drive. The Tadami line will offer something different. Overall it looks like an interesting few months in my opinion. It was good to see more third parties mentioned, some of that I presume is due to people being able to access the editor.
People need to remember too they’re going to focus on stuff they have a license for or can easily get a license for. They already have a license for Metrolink. It makes sense for them to expand on that. They already have a license for LIRR stuff. So let’s see what happens with that as well. And, for what it’s worth, they already have a license for Amtrak and there’s still more US stuff to be announced.
I believe the 365 was dual-voltage early on in it's life, pre-facelift. All it needs is a new cab and (if in the modern era) a new front end with the pantograph. The cab varies a bit from the 465 from what I've seen, not a massive amount though.
Can't say I'm too excited about the San Bernadino line. Another Southern Cal commuter route featuring the same F125 which didn't impress me that much in AVL. I imagine DTG planned this at the same time as AVL so they could re-use assets for this line. Let's hope the scenery is better than in AVL. Is there any freight on the SB line, as it's close to Cajon ?
Well, im a happy bunny. The Goblin looks great….hope they maximise the full potential as they are fully licenced by TfL…..ie NO recirculated sounds please!
Not really, BNSF's freight heads on a different line, UP has a short part of their main to and from LATC that it runs on, but dont expect much traffic on it. Outside of that is only local stuff, and we know how DTG deals with that.
