Having read the roadmap, I am intrigued mostly by the sneaky British loco DTG have in the 4-6 month section, Alan Thompson Simulations' route ( I am surprised we haven't had the country confirmed yet) and obviously the 104. Apart from that nothing which makes me feel particularly excited.

I am wondering what is going on with the suspension updates as I do not seem to remember much (if anything) being said about those.

It’s nice to see a Japansese route and not a shinkansen but a traditional route.

Highs: Finally hearing news on UW's route. Though it may be a bit till we get it (Seems like only scenery atm)

Lows: US content, "Supposed" LIRR route still held up by licensing woes, and the underwhelming Metrolink San Bernardino Line route....

Why has the new ska timetable moved to release date to be confirmed? Was really looking forward to the timetable update.

Although I'm always willing to be pleasantly surprised, already it's looking like yet another " short end of the stick " year for US players in '24.

AVL part 2, uncertainty over LIRR and nothing much else to look forward to, nothing at all in the next 3-4 months. Oh boy.:(

Everyone getting hyped by the new loco only to find out it's a 66/4 in DRS colours. In all honesty I'd like to think that the amount of people calling for a 91 means it will be a 91. However, anything which adds another layer to various routes would be great

Railtraction does some german stuff for TSC. On their own shop they mainly sell vehicles, having more features then dtg ones, but still being easy to play. Halycon used to develop content for MSTS and PTP( Pro Train Perfect), but have switched to bus simulators such as Omsi 2 and The Bus. RSSLO mainly do austrian stuff for TSC.

Wait, so development got all the way to the point of Playstation trophies being live before they realized there was a licensing issue? Or were the trophies a hoax?

I didn't see the stream so sorry if i'm misunderstanding....

There was no mention of LIRR in the steam. Since the trophies were leaked, I am sure the route has to be very close to release. It was known there was a licensing issue prior to the trophies getting leaked as I recall there was mention of licensing issues approximately 2 months ago. Lets see what happens within the next 1-2 weeks. Hype is increased now that we pretty much know what the US route is besides Metrolink

Impressive and my question is this will the 1116 count for the achievements related to its sister locomotive Deutsche Bahn Verkehrsrot Baureihe 182 Dispolok 182 or not? My Fear is that the 1116 is a remade RT 182 which is then clone to make multiple versions from it Black and Yellow 182s. Tadami Line TSC Japanese route. The better option would have been the Kansai airport line to Kyoto.

    Two things:

    1) Fife Circle Line. Excited that I will be able to drive a 170. They are lovely trains to drive. My only problem is the line ends at Markinch. I understand they did the circle, but would have been nice to drive as far as Perth so I could do end to end services (as far as I know, no trains terminate at Markinch).

    2) I really hope I don't have to pay for the 158 that comes with the Fife Circle, I already own this with MML. I understand the route is Rivet and the 158 came from Skyhook, but I don't see why I should pay for the same train twice.

Also, I know how these sound as I work on them so really do hope the sound is correct.

As a US player my cope is to tell myself that they can’t do US routes particularly well anyway. Safety systems and signaling aren’t up to par with UK and German systems in this game, probably because of the complexity. Licensing appears to always be a limiting factor too.

And on that note, everything outside the US is looking pretty promising for 2024

    UK Loco:

Could be class 50: West Cornwall and Great Western Express
Class 67 or 68: for Scotrail operations on the Fife Circle, also ECML Thunderbird.
    Class 91: ECML

Or could it be a steam loco?

Is the included stock on the new Scotrail route going to be a re-liveried HST do we think? It will be nice to cross over the Forth Bridge.

German, Austrian and British content looks nice. American content is a big disappointment. No american freight since 18 months.

External fast moving camera on consoles is still broken since the release of TSW4. And with the great core winter update the function of hiding the HUD at normal HUD mode is broken now. And no fix of that issue is on the horizon.

I don't think he meant it horribly mate. It can be very difficult to just read a block of text and some people struggle more than others.

I highly doubt a class 91 because they need a Mk4 rake and a Mk4 DVT to be modeled for it.

Its not like they can do the loco as a stand alone.

Using paragraphs and punctuation makes it easier to read.

I still think it's unfair paying full price for a loco I already own. At the very least it should be discounted for those that own MML.

Yeah.. the US content looks disappointing for the near future with another West Coast passenger route and then potentially LIRR again. I spent thousands of hours (and dollars!) on Train Sim Classic, but this focus on short passenger routes is getting more and more uninteresting. Whatever grows the bottom line I guess..

Very excited about the Br 111 making her debut in TSW as well as the first Japanese route. And of course BR Green on PFR was long overdue.

It's where the licenses are. Lots of operators aren't interested in tsw. Even with amtrak, it's kinda limited in what they can do

No long distance Amtrak, as always.
5(?) years they call it TRAIN Sim WORLD without iconic P42.

I might just turn towards Trainz, Run8 or Train Simulator considering how us USA players are getting the short end of the stick.

I might just get the San Bernardino line so I can play Metrolink without having to deal with Cajon Pass level grades in AVL.

You don't own a ScotRail 158, you own a Midland Mainline one. You are paying for someone to officially reskin the unit (and hopefully change the skirt) as well as producing the scenarios / timetables etc. I agree I don't think is like to pay £29.99 for it, but assuming it's in the £11.99 price range I think that would be fair enough

I mean, I will probably buy it anyway, but I think it'd would have probably been better if the price was included with the route rather than a separate purchase.

I feel like every new content release gives with one hand and takes with the other. The sim has been crying out for an OEBB Taurus + IC, but why only the Bmz? Austrian Intercity services are not standard class only: formations include an Amz and/or ADmpsz (first class/first class with luggage van) and usually a WRmz (restaurant). There are also other variants. We had this corner cutting with the DB IC stock, but this is even worse! The game is supposed to be immersive, and part of that is realistic formations. Older Train sims managed in, why can't TSW? It wouldn't be so bad if we thought this might be added later, but from the experience of the DB IC stock, it won't.

I guess it will come down to the fact that Skyhook will want some of the revenue for its work, and rivet probably don't want to share any of the dev cut from the route sales. But all in all, I have no objection, as I suspect the ScotRail 158 will be layered onto other ScotRail routes? Or at least let's hope it is. Same with the 170.

That's probably why, yes, which is a shame really. I'll just have to live with it.

At least there would be more opportunity for other ScotRail routes with the 158, a bonus I guess.

If we are honest, the small cost of these dlc compared with say, a model train, really shows that actually the dlc are really good value. Imagine how much it would cost to make a model of each of the trains we get to drive in the game.

quite similar to the Caltrain MP36, Lead loco, unique coaches, Cab car. Almost the same as the DB 101 aswell minus the cab car. Doesn’t seem a reason to disregard the 91 as a loco addon.

Yeah, I'm gonna bury myself deep into Railroader and Railroads Online. Unofficial VR gave some new life to TSW, but these guys can't even be bothered about the US market. Shoot, it's not like they couldn't have done actual work for this new route; make it set in the 1990's, give us some Dash 9's or F59's, anything. Nope, it's a reskin in an overdone area, and one that is more properly catered for with Run8.

I'd like to invite the DTG team to see more of America than LA and NYC. It's a bit like saying that you'll cater towards the UK, but then make everything only in the ten miles surrounding London and Birmingham. There *is* more than just those two cities, guys.
