PS5 Free Roam Errors After February 12th Patch

The Feb 12th patch mentions that it fixed issues with locomotives not spawning in Free Roam. As far as the situation goes in which Addon Manager failed to mount the content, therefor nothing would appear after pressing spawn with the green outline positioned, this seems to have been fixed.

This, however, still persists:

I've done some brief testing, although I have yet to try every route, that would be very time consuming. So far however, I can confirm that it applies to Southeastern High Speed and Great Western Express, however it may also apply to other routes I have yet to try both in the UK and elsewhere, plus I don't have every German route so I can't test them. I would like to preface the list below by saying that I can see how this feature might be working as intended in some cases, for example I noticed that it applies to literally every single US addon there is. This could be because of the drastically different loading gauges and the size of the trains, in which case I understand that. I doubt that is the case however considering that the US trains can still be placed on other UK routes without issue.

As for the EU and UK content being bugged, if this feature is supposed to for example stop a train running overhead electric from spawning on a route without catenary, then the system is completely wrong. SEHS has both overhead cable and third rail areas, every single train in the UK should be able to run on it. At least the Vectron is unaffected by this.

I get the impression we've been looking at two different issues up to this point. There was the issue with Addon Manager which has been fixed, where you could spawn a loco and the green outline would appear on the ground but then nothing would happen because the content isn't there. What we're now dealing with I think is an error in the coding of Formation Designer. Formation Designer's code is in all copies of the game, it's why the GUI changed, they're just only having it activated on PC copies so they can bug test it. That doesn't, unfortunately, stop the bugs from still affecting us too.

 

Update:
I must unfortunately bring the news that while the patch for the failed spawning issues has massively reduced the issues, they seem to have not disappeared altogether. I have just found myself unable to spawn West Cornwall Steam Railtour content on NTP, not through any error message but through the locos and coaches simply not appearing when placed.

Edit the next day:
The patch definitely did not fix the issue, only reduced it. I am practically completely unable to spawn any Great Western Express or Engineer's Express content on Blackpool Branches. I was trying to do a run of pulling the GWR MK3s with the DRS Class 66, but every time without fail if I spawn one the other will not spawn.

 

As far as Training Centre goes, the issues seem to have resolved based on a quick check. I'll have to play around more to be certain. A brief check of SEHS seems to show that some of the issue is resolved there, as I was able to spawn in Flying Scotsman. But not entirely, when I tried to spawn a Blackpool Branches consist the 'Not Enough Space' message still appeared.

One extra development from my experimenting though. The error message does not appear in actual Free Roam mode, only when in timetable mode.
