On the Roadmap it is under the 0 - 3 month category so that would be May at the very latest. I hope it’s sooner. Maybe around Easter time.
As the 158 is gonna be a DLC does that mean none of the services will be a 158 + 170 formation? Also will DTG allow us to actually couple these units
The Forth Rail Bridge in the screenshot is HYPE !!!. . Can’t wait to see the bridges in full. I wonder how the Firth will look. Hopefully not too clean like it does in TSC…
I imagine that would be quite hard, in fairness. Ironic that Wales folded to England much, much more easily than Scotland.
its the unicorn proving hard why it’s in chains as I believe the story tells, it’s meant to be untameable therefore it being in chains symbolises the strength/power of England over all (just a patriotic tale of course)
Given that it’s going to be its own pack, and it’s a 2 car unit, it will need its own timetable (unless something has changed with substitution rules). Having its own timetable means that it’s much more likely we will see the 3+2 consists. I think it would be a great shame if they were omitted.
I will be heading into this route with the usual trepidation On one hand, I am looking forward to this route because it is probably (other than the Fort William lines and the Inverness lines) one of the most picturesque and stunning routes in Scotland and coupled with the 170s and the 158s, will offer the chance for some really good formations on the stretch On the other hand, it's being done by Rivet Games who's track record is not good at best when it comes to routes. You know, I don't know if it was me but I seemed to remember after the complete cluster you know what that the West Cornwall Local was, remembering one of the team coming out and saying that if it was not good enough, it was going to go back to the route creators and made sure it was done right and it was done properly but that seems to have gone in one ear and right out of the other. If Rivet actually fixed the problems with their routes; i.e. the sounds on the 150s, the scenery, the sounds of the 385s etc. I imagine that a lot would be forgiven but as long as the issues remain, it is always going to be held over them. They could turn around and make the best route possible with the Fife Circle but no one would care because of the mistakes of the past.
Right so on Instagram the bio of the post of the forth bridge has them saying “did you pay attention to all the trains WERE including” is there a chance an i7c HST may be in the works aswell? As Matt did say on stream that it would have ALL of the fleet for the fife circle this could just be coincidence though
I'd like to see a denser person population at stations. There are some stations on original route which have lots of empty white boards and unfurnished areas which I hope are picked up in this and backported
Rivet has also modelled the Main Entrance into Waverley Station which was missing previously as well as a few other improvements around the station. Minor thing but it’s really nice to know.
All the reference material I've found has this light ballast, including a YouTube video recorded just two days ago
I’ve really been enjoying this timelapse of the Fife Circle, the scenic variety and beauty is incredible: Amazing! Where did you hear that?
On there forum there is a pic of it here. https://forums.rivet-games.com/foru...1-a-very-minor-suggestion-for-waverly-station
I really hope this will be a great route - I'm not the biggest fan of Cathcart or E-G as, in my opinion, these felt a bit lifeless, especially regarding AI traffic and limited rolling stock. But, I remain optimistic for Fife Circle with the 170 and 158 (thankfully not a one-loco route, hooray) and I want to see Waverley actually be busy so please Rivet finally add the Azuma, which is also much needed for E-G... On the subject of Cathcart and E-G, I'd like to see these updated at some point to reflect the newer rolling stock, mainly for AI traffic etc.
keep in mind the 158 does not come with the route as standard the 158 will be a seperete DLC you need to purchase which will add to the route.
But the ballast is not on the bridge there is no ballast on the bridge. The picture is not even looking at track on the bridge. Ballast can be relaid without track being lifted and replaced. looking at the keys/track clips on the right hand tracks those are new which suggests work was done not to long from when the image was taking so fresh laid ballast is present. Also on curved track on a heavy usage line which that section will be curved track is replaced every 2/3 years
Do you reckon you two could take your arguments to your personal inboxes? Every other thread is filled with your bickering. It’s very childish.
Indeed, although while the 158 already exists in TSW, I'm happy nonetheless it will provide a lot more variety and longer-term gameplay and is exactly why TSW in general needs more loco DLC to make routes even better.
absolutely and hopefully more will follow. It’s why I enjoy the cargo packs they add so much more to routes in sim already. Would be good to have a class 68 and MK2 coach pack for this for when they ran loco hauled services a few years as well and the 170/158 will still fit in with that.
Yeah this is finally something I’ve been waiting for since they stopped doing more than 1 piece of rolling stock per route. If a train needs to be remade to make it fit, I’m happy to pay the appropriate cost (so for the SR 158 I’d be happy to go for the 4.99 range, maybe more considering it’ll need its own timetable [hopefully they will throw us a bone for E2G with it too]). Bringing the extra train pack close to the release should absolutely be the goal too.
When was the last time we got a route with 2 locos included? Can't have been that recent, so this is a pleasant surprise.
2 locos are not included as said countless times the 158 is a DLC EDIT: you replied to a comment above mine as i sent this sorry.
having a look at the wiki it seems a pretty good service frequency which will create some good AI running in both directions: Service patterns All services are run by ScotRail. Northbound 1tph Edinburgh to Cowdenbeath via Dunfermline City 1tph Edinburgh to Glenrothes with Thornton via Cowdenbeath (continues back to Edinburgh via the coast) 2tph Edinburgh to Glenrothes with Thornton via Kirkcaldy (one continues back to Edinburgh via Dunfermline City, the other terminates at Glenrothes) Southbound 1tph Cowdenbeath to Edinburgh 1tph Glenrothes with Thornton to Edinburgh via Dunfermline City (from Edinburgh via the coast) 2tph Glenrothes with Thornton to Edinburgh via Kirkcaldy (one through from Edinburgh via Cowdenbeath) In the evening, there are hourly services to Glenrothes via Cowdenbeath and to Kirkcaldy only (some of the latter continue to/from Dundee). Sundays see an hourly service in both directions around the full circle to Glenrothes.
I wonder if we will get the different cab's the 158s come in on the standalone dlc for this route. Would be nice so we have something different. like you happy to pay for extra train packs to enhance current routes. I would much rather dtg go down this road with 3rd parties as we have some amazing routes already that are missing stock that can come so much more alive with loco packs like this being released.
I counted at least seven different shades of ballast in the video posted above, some light grey, some dark grey, some that rusty pink colour in varying levels of light and dark, and it looked like a damp day like it would normally be in that part of the UK. None of it as pale as in that photo also posted above that was possibly taken after an unseasonable dry week. We don’t get that kind of variety of ballast in TSW, usually one or two colours at most per route. If I was picking a colour I'd go for a dark rusty pink colour for this route, not pale grey on the driest day of the year. Rivet may choose another colour. May the forum be with you, nobody is right and nobody is wrong.
I learned years ago when watching a live stream cant remember who but was interesting to know that depending on what quarry the ballast comes from depends on the colour. didnt know that and i been on the railways for years lol.
I'm hoping the Azuma's get added to Waverly. E2G was how I found TSW. Stumbled onto it shortly after our trip to Edinburgh and took a 385 to Glasgow. Our next trip in few months, we're an Azuma to King Cross and back. Someone mention the never ending main entrance steps. That was certainly a surprise, running stairs now to prep for it.
