They want to get the PIS working correctly before attempting announcements, fed up of looking at the screens and being given the wrong information, i.e. next station stop is Ebsfleet when infact no, it should be Stratford and telling me I've just got on Battersea when I've actually got on at Clapham etc. etc.
In the autumn Goblin will be out of date as it’s just been given an official name - the “Suffragette Line”, I think I preferred Goblin.
An absolute waste of money which could of been spent better elsewhere but I'm not going into politics on this forum.
350 maybe idk - I’m actually curious to know. If it is a train already in the game, I’d be interested in hearing from OP as to the realism and pitfalls of it.
When you sit near the front of these units you can hear the AWS from the passenger side. There are also drivers eye view videos that have the announcements very audible in the background. I certainly agree it's not a make or break, but I feel it would be a good feature to have in game. EDIT: video plays from earlier than I set the timestamp. An example can be heard at 6:46
Will cab monitors feature as that plays a major part on the inside of the Goblin line trains? They are massive screens.
Knowing DTG no. If yes we wont even see it again. Features like that are one hit wonders in this game.
Coming from the era before some units even had PAs, I'm actually quite pleased. I know it isn't realistic but I'm looking forward to hearing just the motors, the track and that wonderful fizzing, popping sound they make when they stop, assuming they're like the 720s that is.
I would expect not, since the amount of work needed to be done and the computing power needed would outweigh the benefits. The whole train would have to be rendered, with accurate passenger movements, which is something I think would be hard to do on last gen consoles and maybe even series s.
As mentioned in the recent stream addressing the dovetail direct in the form of a roadmap discussion it was mentioned that maybe as a post update this may come as a feature but on release they haven’t been able to able to make automatic announcements in a way they woukd like it to be for the Goblin line Class 710. (It will forever be the goblin not the surgery line or whatever nonsense they called it).
Could be done but wouldn’t work on last generation consoles due to their memory capacity issues. It would work on a series S as it’s been done before but not very well. Even if we had a passenger monitor with very low res cameras it would be nice
That and the fact that there is a speaker inside of these units which can be increased and decreased in volume on the TMS
thats not how they work. The volume in the carriage will increase/decrease with the volume of the ambiant noise round about it. Each carriage has a sensor. If there is lots of noise in the carriage the announcements will be he ard louder as they go above the ambient noise. If no noise they are at the standard level set my the manufacture. There is no volume control in the TCMS to control announcement volume. All the tms will have is pre selected messages the driver can press a soft key to activate.
The trailer for the Goblin line looks good, but still very dissapointed there will be no announcements in this DLC.
Just come back to this after seeing that fife circle will have automatic announcements. At this point, dtg, it’s disgraceful.
Dtg want to create a core system. I'm sure nobody wants a situation where some trains have it and some trains don't have it which is what would most likely happen if dtg did it manually for each train. It kinda works for 3rd parties because they can spend much more time and don't release as much dlc as dtg
Your point is invalid. We already have some trains that have them (3 to be exact, and all from third parties) and some that don't.
Excuse after excuse. How many years are PIS around ? And still they trying to figure it out completely before touching Announcements. Yet Rivet is gonna do it third time. I dont care about core or not, all i know is that it is again a massive let off. And in about a years time, we will ask where it is and then maybe they telling us again that its probably not going to happen..... and rolling the ball again to third parties. Sorry but did players really expect DTG to go the extra miles this time ? They haven't done this so far, why should change now ? The really bad thing is that i absolutely expected it to not come with announcements. Again i was (sadly) confirmed. With the Informations surrounding Steam Engines in general and the development of US freight i really start to ask myself what the heck is going on. And please leave the 'development is complicated' bla bla out of here. They decided to develop TSW in the Idea of bringing a Train Simulator to the next level. So therefore its only logical that you will face hurdles along the way. Im tired of all those excuses, of course its complicated but either you try your damn best or better admit defeat. Im not sure DTG is up for what it would take to get TSW up to the standard it should have for this kind of pricing. Especially if third parties making you look that old.
