Good call. I like the 'real route' (York to Edinburgh section). Try to do it a couple of times a year. Love the approaches to Durham....Newcastle and river Tyne bridges and, weather permitting, seeing Holy Island.
So is it Edinburgh to Glasgow or Newcastle to Edinburgh and Glasgow you are proposing? I think TSW is limited on route length to about 40-50 miles so the former might work but the latter might not.
Newcastle to Edinburgh is 120 miles and 90 minutes on a HST All trains from Newcastle to Glasgow go through Edinburgh anyway Newcastle to Glasgow via Edinburgh is 167 miles and 155 minutes on a Voyager So probably far beyond the remit of TSW Add to this you would have to add in far more than XC services across the routes suggested and you end up with a huge route and huge number of consists to form
