After about 30 minutes of driving, I find that some TSW compatible routes have driver seats that become solid and impassable. I have noticed this on all Electrostars and the Bakerloo Line (I suspect this solid seat bug is what causes you to ascend through the roof). It doesn't seem to affect the Hitachi AT300s in the game. Apart from the Electrostars and the 72 stock, has anyone else found any other seats that become solid after a while? Also, has anyone found a cause, or do you simply have to wait around for 30 minutes?
I don’t really understand what is meant by solid seats, but I’ve often been ejected out of the roof of the 395 the second I’ve stood out of my seat- if this is what you mean?
Fair enough - I mean that if you get up, then you can no longer walk through the seat (the seat gains a hitbox). For the first few minutes, you can walk through the seat, but at some point through the run I will want to walk around, so I will get up, and the seat blocks my way (or I get stuck in the roof of the 72 stock and have to press Ctrl+0 to get back into my seat).
I must come clean here, I did have a rather naughty/rude reply typed out, however I decided to grow up and delete it! I haven't experienced the issue of solid seats though in game.
This happens very often on the Peninsula Corridor to both the F40 and MP36, as well as the Gallery and Bombardier cab cars, it can be frustrating and it completely kills the immersive aspect of being able to walk around, or walk from the locomotive to the cab car to turn around, set up, and run the return trip. On PC, hitting (CTRL+ -) and (CTRL + =) can help you switch from one cab to the other instantly. It really messes with the aspect of walking from one cab to the other, completing a route task at a station, or doing a walk around, etc...but in a pinch it works. Peninsula Corridor is old news at this point, so likely my favorite route has been forsaken for good by DTG, but hopefully they fix this issue for all locomotives and rolling stock this affects.
This line makes me happy. Well done! This is intriguing. I haven't found a consistent way of recreating the issue, apart from driving for long enough, so it will be difficult to try and find the source of this issue. Interesting to know that it affects the Peninsula Corridor as well. Indeed, it is unlikely that Peninsula Corridor will be updated (especially since I believe it has had a major update in TSW3), however, it seems like this bug is a core issue, since it is affecting a wide variety of routes, so there is a chance it could be fixed... So far we have East Coastway, London Commuter, Bakerloo Line, and the Peninsula Corridor. I wonder what other routes people have experienced this on.
For me it’s caused by using the 3 head-out cam, (not the freecam which is also keybinded to the 3 key) and then pressing 1 to return straight to the drivers seat. You usually hear a sound which is the walking on grass sound effect, then you get launched through the roof of the train you’re driving.
I thought so too, but upon starting a service at Elephant and Castle recently, I habitually pressed 3, realised my mistake, and quickly pressed 1 again. I was able to get up no problem, until I tried to get up at Maida Vale. I did not check until then, unfortunately, but I also did not press 3 after the first time.
