    Okay so in the recent update I notice DTG has fixed the speedo appearing in 'no hud mode'.

    But now, as you can see in the image;
    upload_2024-2-14_15-9-11.png
    The AMP & Klb gauge numbers appear scaled up outside of their bounds for a brief moment when you switch the hud back on. I haven't yet done testing on multiple units beyond the n-Wagen but I dare say it applies to any other cab with that component of the hud.

    Next we have texture issues, more prevailant since the update before last.

    Should say Bremen Hbf :P
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    red wheels and so on...

    NEC too ( taken pre update);
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    Some cab textures remain high res & legible.
    [IMG]
    And a bumper crop of externals where it's glaringly egregious.
    [IMG]
    (side note, fix this cab car in the livery designer please)
    [IMG]
    Broken down in the bump map even.
    [IMG]
    And the NJT units too.
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    Only the brand stripe is unaffected here.

    This issue bleeds into the livery designer too, affecting every model in the 'base menu', even flickering every time you choose a base colour in the scale.
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    And going into the next menu. Textures restored.

    Which leads into my bonus issue section. The livery designer UI. I didn't grab screens of it before the update because there was no issue to document but for a start, you can see in the image above, certain icons (surface choice, clone, rearrange, group) have become horizontally squashed & misaligned. The 'choosing a side icons' are even more obvious when you enter that sub menu.
    [IMG]
    This one is a little less obvious and hard to explain but when you 'undo' to the limit at the bottom of the layer list, the input disappears and you can't scroll it or interact with the list anymore, you have to back out of that menu and re-enter. Also on a note of less obvious things, there's STILL a problem with layers 'sticking' and not being able to rearrange or group them in certain number slots, resolved only by backing out and coming back in again. It's frustrating.

    That's all for now.

    The big numbers have been an issue for me for a long time now, although it seems to have spread judging by the forums.

    The low-resolution models issue is something I encountered on my terrible old laptop during TSW2. When loading a route, it would briefly show the low-res model, before fully loading the train. Never lasted more than 5 seconds, and only occurred when loading a service, never during a run. My new laptop does not have this issue.

    I'm not sure if I said anything helpful here, but I thought I should contribute...

    Well it helps us gain some perspective to what is happening here. I heard someone on high said the LOD (level of detail) has been reduced to 'improve' performance on last gen? But that's bollocks if it's true, because the performance is no different, if anything it's been getting worse! Something has gone wrong here to affect the distance which that is supposed to kick in, those pics I took, you imagine they'd look like that in the distance because you don't need to render high res/poly models in the distance. It's inexcusable, annoying, ugly and reducing the value of it and my want to play. You just can't take good screenshots with this garbage! And I know they can fix this because weird de-rendering was occurring with the ROG 37 in TSW3 a while back;

    [IMG]
    It doesn't happen anymore.

    Back in TSW4, popping back into that same scenario a day later the AMP number has ballooned!

    DTG Matt I too have the same problem with large orange numbers popping up on the screen. This for me is on PS4, when I come out of the in game map back into the game (don't use the pause menu map, so don't know if it happens then too). I've had it on Birmingham Cross City in both 323 and 43 which is the only route I've played since the core update. It is definitely new for me, and when I'm next on I'll report back if to confirm if this is or isn't present on other routes too. From what people are saying though, seems likely.

    I've had the same problem with the blurry textures ever since the update, on every single line. I've gone back to playing TSW3 until it gets fixed.

    If I could guess, it's probably a hardware problem. Kind of to be expected on an older console.

    I get the giant number popups in TSW4 on PC. It's not just a console problem, or last-gen problem.

    The low LOD models persisting for ages definitely happens if I try running the game on extremely low spec PC hardware so it's most likely the game hitting the limitations of the 11 year old consoles that were already a couple of years behind contemporary PC specs when they launched. The more DTG try to squeeze out of the engine to keep it running on those systems, the higher the cost to fidelity on those systems.

    Luckily I don't feel the need to use the clunky old Arcade Racer style HUD any more.

    Yeah. Low-res textures are caused by having insufficient memory and the game is just auto-scaling to try and work around it. However the same thing can also happen after some time in case of a memory leak (as the game is taking more and more RAM until it crashes).

    I’m getting the big number popping in for a split second when returning from map view on PS5, so a bug on all platforms it seems.

    I've had it on Koln Aachen on PS4 again this evening so definitely spread across routes too. Seems likely to be a 'core bug'. DTG Alex Please may you make the relevant person/team aware of this? Thank you
