i was wondering could DTG afford making limited editions consoles? i did the math like for let say xbox series x model cost in canada $649. so if they made 500 of tsw4 limited editions it be 325,000 dollars. for ps 5 slim same price $649 X 500 325,000 dollars. so over all it be 650,000 to make 1000 limited tsw4 both xbox and ps5 together. or would that bankrupted DTG and send it to chapter 11 lol.
No and even if they could would there really be any point? TSW and trains in general are really niche interests so I doubt they’d get any sales out of a dedicated console. Sticking with the current plan of releasing the occasional starter pack with a couple routes & frequent sales would be more viable tbh
So, the thing is as said above, TSW isn't popular enough to warrant such a thing being made. However, let's say that yes, DTG wants to go ahead with this... Just trying to plan out a Console for that would be a headache to deal with. It just would cost too much to make and wouldn't actually recoup enough revenue to make it worthwhile. Now, if they received assistance from either Sony or Microsoft (which Is unlikely), they WILL find a way to make it an absolute HEADACHE. So yeah, for now what we have works
what would be the point ? Surely it’s just how they would look, wouldn’t it be better if anything they just sold some kinda vinyl stickers for the Xbox and controllers for say about £15
Keep in mind that DTG's slice of the console sales would be pretty small, and also that the consoles are pretty much loss leaders for Microsoft and Sony to begin with. The studios advertising huge games can afford to skin consoles regardless, but that's not an option for most.
