    Guys,

I've got a 5800X3D + Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT inbound. I've never owned an AMD card before, and I'm looking for any suggestions for settings in the AMD Adrenaline software that might benefit the operation of the sim.

I've been so used to tweaking settings in the Nvidia control panel, but I'm not sure of how man/if any of those apply on a Radeon card.

Anyone else using an RT 6000/RT 7000 card that has custom adjustments going in TSW4?

Forgive me if I put this in the wrong place...

    I wouldn't bother with AMD.

PS5 and XBOX Series S/X used AMD graphics, and they have more graphical issues in TSW4 than you'll ever get with an Nvidia card.

I'm no cheerleader for either AMD or Nvidia, but I'll say spend the extra money and go with an Nvidia card.... It will save you from a lot of headaches.

I used a Rx480 for half a decade before getting a 2080 Ti and I can tell you that this is nonsense, especially now with FMF, a game-changer, once it matures.

I'll be totally honest, I was not impressed with anything I saw this generation from Nvidia (RTX-4xxx). I don't play any AAA modern games on this machine (only FS2020 & TSW4). Things like ray tracing and the like are not anything I'm really worried about. My system is also limited to 1440p@144hz, and this card has the best 'bang for the buck' in the range where my budget fell.

    "Once it matures"

Meaning it's not good right now, so if you buy an AMD card, you had better pray that it does "mature" and doesn't get abandoned as soon as AMD discover the "next big thing that is going to be better than everything else."

Because tech companies NEVER abandon projects half-way through development.

it is about finding the good combination of hardware anyway :)
a not so good mobo can ruin the setup etc
too many brands to choose from
    and too many models

Yes, it will. If not, you can carefully explain why and provide any sources for your statement, because so far, you've been dead wrong.

Besides, FMF is optional and works really well today...

My boyfriend's RX 7800 XT runs TSW 4 very very well with an ultrawide at 1440p. You also have the option to use AMD Frame Generation and Radeon Super Resolution if you want to (for all games using DX11/12 even those without having it built into the game).

    Hello, AMD user here :) 5700XT -> 6800XT -> 7900XTX

They work fine, so don't worry. I would suggest you to activate FMF (Fluid Motion Frames) for TSW4, which gives you 50-100% generated additional frames. At the same time you can set a max FPS where you like for example 70 FPS which results in mostly 140fps over the time for your refresh rate but saves a lot of energy.

Also use the -DX12 command for TSW.

I can give you more detailed info on this if you like, feel also free to PM me about any question regarding AMD cards.

Nice setup you are getting :)
