Hey folks, this post is about the EBuLa Fahrplan. I'm suggesting this feature, since it is a feature a lot of players, especially German railfans would love to see in TSW. It is build up to display speed changes, Station coordinates, route monuments like tunnels, other stations you don't have to stop and much more. It would replace the hud for players to see, when to stop at tue next station and would bring a lot of realism to the game. This video (sadly only in Germany) will show you how EBuLa works and why it is so important. If you have some additions, feel free to add those down below this post!
Awesome idea but from what was said in preview stream this is complex to implement seems to me would need to be German experts involved in this to get scale and complexity of system right as it’s far more complex than a bog standard aws/TPWS setup but who knows what future holds
At first it may be a feature for Senarios, since those are fixed routes and don't have to be included to every train than just the player train. If they would include it to Timetable mode it would of course be complicated, because it has to be specified for every train and would cause a lot of calculations, which might lead to lots of bugs and low FPS rates. I'm not a game engineer, so I can't tell how it effects the game, but maybe some mod Creators might be interested to cooperate with DTG to bring out a working EBuLa, maybe also DTG could cooperate with the Zusi Creators, because they have done it very well
I guess there are two parts to the EBuLa: the fixed route part and the train-specific part (times). DTG would have to create the general structure of the EBuLa for any given route (the signals, the stations, etc) and probably once for every relevant path through the map (S-Bahn has different entries compared to RE that drives on different tracks). Inside the editor, you would have to select for each service what of the presets should be used. Afterwards the calculation of the times happens. This information is already used for the objectives within each service and could also be used to replace the placeholders in the preset. In the end, the final EBuLa for each service would be stored and shipped together with the timetable. At runtime only the position within that EBuLa would have to be updated based on the position in the map.
TP is in early beta, and EBULA is already there But seriously, DTGs does not look back to improve a product that has already been sold. And creating an entire system with moving text, when you can transfer a static screen from an old project, is too time-consuming. By the way, how do you like the implementation of EBULA in BR612? The game is already full of inconsistencies in cabin systems and other small things, this does not affect sales in any way. You will keep playing because you have no alternative. I am very afraid when DTG will implement ETSC L2. How many inconsistencies will there be? Although we already have a Class 700 with this system! But she's not there. This is a small hint that this will not happen)))
Yes please, this shouldve been added since TSW2020. I really don't want to rely on the HUD anymore, but at the same time I either memorize the route stops... which is kinda impossible for my absent brain or keep the minimal HUD on.
Would also love to see this Feature! (Eventually beginning in the new BR101?!). I dont like it, when i need the HUD to drive :/ Wanna my Plan on the screen :P
