The summer season for 1932 is underway at Conneaut Lake Park, and a Bessemer and Lake Erie 2-10-2 is shown here with a train full of B&LE employees for an afternoon on the lake.

For many people, the English Riviera Line route is synonymous with summer holidays, especially in years gone by. Here, a Class 50 and Class 31 make their way along the sea wall towards Dawlish. In the background, can be seen Parson and Clerk rock, a natural rock formation which juts out into the sea.

This section of the line was destroyed during a storm in 2014, but was later rebuilt.

Class 483 in NSE livery sits at Ryde Esplanade sometime during the 1990s, waiting for the last few passengers to board the final service up the pier as the Sun sets over the Solent.

Another three class 483s at Ryde St. John's Road on a busy summer Saturday afternoon. This brings back fond memories of holidays on the Isle of Wight, going down to St. John's Road to catch the rickety old tube trains each morning.

Oxenholme is a hamlet which has a junction station on the West Coast Main Line between Preston and Carlisle. A Class 390 intercity train is arriving while a Class 158 DMU is waiting on the Windermere branch line to take holiday-makers to the Lake District.
Route: West Coast Main Line over Shap

Boating is just one of many summer activities in the South Devon area. DMUs such as this NSE Sprinter provide transportation for locals and tourists alike.

To be fair my intention was to promote summer screenshots as it was the first day of summer :) But my wording wasn't right, so it's my fault.

British English: "holiday season" = Summer
American English: "holiday season" = Winter

I suppose "Summer holiday season" would be the easy way to make it a bit clearer ;)

I think they're looking for tourist type stuff. When they reffer to summer holiday, they're asking for stuff like the special or extra capacity passenger trains that commonly run during this time of year.

I think the problem is "holiday season" is ambiguous. No one calls Christmas "the holiday season" in the UK, holidays in the UK mean taking time off from work and going on a trip somewhere (usually foreign) and it's usually done in the middle of summer. Christmas is too cold with too dismal weather to have holidays around there (unless you jet off to the Southern Hemisphere).

In the USA, holiday season means exclusively Christmas. Translating from British English, "holiday" in en-gb means "vacation" in en-us.

So if whoever started this thread speaks British English, they mean "summer vacation" if you speak US English.

Two peoples separated by a common language....

If it was ever on the Steam store, it has to be official content - just because it's been retired I don't think makes it "unofficial". Also someone last week was complaining about *sound packs* disqualifying an entry. You can't see a sound pack in a screenshot, it has no bearing on it!

    1 vacation pic 2.jpg

A northbound Amtrak P32AC-DM-hauled Empire Service Train bound for Niagara Falls is seen racing parallel to the Hudson River on the Hudson Line: New York to Croton-Harmon route. During the summer vacation season, Empire Service trains are full of tourists, usually bound for Niagara Falls. Sometimes the trains have a sixth car added on to accommodate the higher volume of passengers.

Not to mention you can still purchase retired content from the DTG Amazon store. So on a technicality it's not retired, just not as easy to find as other content.

Both are on the Weardale and Teesdale Route on a cool summer morning. The first is a Rusty Black 5 with a stopping train from Wearhead and 2 Class 25's on an express heading for Blackpool. The second is a British Railways 101 DMU making its way for Middleton in Teesdale. 20190604190301_1.jpg 20190604191913_1.jpg
