"[...]einigen Sonderzügen sowie planmäßigen RE-, IC-, EC- und Autozügen[...]"

You posted the right quote, you just bolded the wrong words. It was used on some railtours, but it ran revenue trains almost every day for years.

How often each loco appears as a substitution depends on its "commonness factor". DTG's design isn't very smart here, as you can't say "this loco is very common on route A, but pretty rare on route B"... However, what you can control is how often the default loco is replaced by something else, so (if the coaches were compatible) it would be trivial to set it up so you see a 103 every once in a while.

The reason why this loco was running services was for health and that he doesn't lose his licence to run on the tracks for museum use also. This loco is from the DB Museum in Koblenz but was used in depot München....

These are the German routes that the 111 subs in on. Mostly the Dosto services. No freight, no specials. Just the dostos.

    Munchen Augsburg
    HAUPTSTRECKE Rhein Ruhr
    Main Spessart Bahn
    Rhein Ruhr Osten
    Koln Aachen
    (Both timetables)
    Dresden Riesa

Which would be about right. The 111 was designed and built as a passenger engine, a replacement for the aging 110s.

I recall in the stream and on the roadmap that they mentioned the 111 not subbing in anywhere ingame. only if you use free roam to spawn it in. IMO I don't like free roam spawning stuff into timetables unless it's end to end freight that lacks or using some shunting yards and industries along the lines that the route devs left unused or getting a special service in. I rather have a vehicle in it's real route as a timetable option so I see AI too. therefore I am glad about the Köln - Aachen update and hope to see a lot of newer rolling stock used on that older route like the ICE1. I really hope they do that for more older routes which are in need of a desperate update

Thats not the case. In a Ambassador Preview Stream Yesterday i saw the 111 subs in multiple other routes, including HRR, RRO, HMA, DRA and SKA on RE services

"In anticipation of the forthcoming Semmeringbahn: Wiener Neustadt – Mürzzuschlag route Add-on there will also be 4 playable EC services that use the ÖBB 1116 electric locomotive and coaches for players that own that route. These coaches will also be seen as static stock at Salzburg Hbf."

Love that! Thanks for thinking forwards, Lukas & team! I hope at some point Vorarlbergbahn also get's an addional layer with an update.

Hmm just four playable services, was hoping for a lot more than that sadly. :| I hope there will be at least a few more AI-only services to make Salzburg feel busier. I hope Vorarlberg gets the 1116 too - the only thing that fantastic route is missing is Austrian long-distance services from Bregenz etc.

Same! But we can't fight reality. Though i'm sure Salzburg and Freilassing will have a lot of coaches on the yard.

Can somebody point out the correct name to search for in the (PS4) playstation store? I can't seem to find the route if I search "TSW", "Train SIm World", "Salzburg" or "Rosenheim". It usually comes out at 10 am Europe and some users already seem to have it on console, or it hasn't released yet?

I sometimes use Free Roam, following another "timetable" train, in order to have yellows and reds.
Making more interesting the drive ;)

They really should layer it back onto Vorarlberg as well. They have a golden opportunity to make sure all Austrian content stays relevant, now that there isn't too many Austrian routes yet. Next move should be developing a Railjet and layer it on all three Austrian routes ( Vorarlberg, Rosenheim - Salzburg, Semmeringbahn) and use both the Railjet and the 1116 + coaches as base layers for all future Austrian content.

It was on the PS store in the iOS app when I looked earlier, I found it by opening TSW4 in my game library then selecting Add-ons. No 10% discount unfortunately like Steam, so might get it on PC first then pick it up on PS5 later in a sale.

Dont hope too loud, DTGs past in lack of seeing such potential has not just shown, but also proven that their thinking is very 1 Dimensional in advertising other routes by adding compatible layers.

Hoping this doesn't come back to bite me then but, in a move that even surprised myself, based on the feedback in this thread jumped in and bought the Steam version with the pre-order discount in its 11.75th hour.

You CAN drive regular IC trains with the 103. Found this one! <3

Well. Good news is that I've only encountered 2 bugs so far:

There is a hole in the ground, some kind of missing terrain bug, between the 3,4 and 3,6 kilometre boards.

Very hard to miss, as it is bright white between the tracks.

Second bug is a floating ground marker, floating above the tracks in Rosenheim yard.

Sorry I can't post screen shots, but away from my PC right now.

The route is beautiful, with well-detailed stations and well-designed scenery (we don't have endless tree tunnels placed there to cover everything). What is currently missing from this route with a strong international connotation (on the main Munich-Vienna axis) are international trains. The ICs with DB 101 in the absence of the Austrian counterpart (and without international trains such as EC\EN) are very few. The DB 103 was much appreciated in its special service.

Be hoping for a nice Add-On with the OBB 1116 RailJet and why not, also one with the OBB 1216 for both freight and passenger use. Give us the Taurus (the "real one") :D

I totally agree with this. More loco DLCs should be made to populate, and give new gameplay, to existing routes. I think DTG and 3rd parties have missed many opportunities with their routes because of including to few trains in the route pack and not making any loco addons.

I am happy with how they use the stock that's already available though. I think it really elevates the value of a DLC when the included stock can be used on other routes as well.

I have make some nice progress on the new route and i'm very happy what i have seen so far! Only some minor bugs but nothing to big... One thing to pick out is the lack an passengers on early days and late evenings..... I had a service in journey mode on 4:00am and there was no passenger so far i can see on all the stations... Litterly nobody..... A low amount is fair but nobody on all 13 stations is a little strange!
The 111 is absolute fun to drive and the sounds are not realistic but very acceptable so 30% realistic than. The route it self looks stunning and i love the new assets. The stations are the biggest plus! They are so realistic i've been many times on this route and its top notch! Thanks DTG for this nice route :)

Okay this is a thing that i have to point out..... The light of the 111 is complete off..... you see totaly noting.... You can't see the signs on the line so please fix this ASAP! This is not the first time that that is buggy on a loco... You have always a small light point on older locos but in this case you see nothing :(

There is also something total wrong with the day and night.... If i choose 1 july at 19pm its nearly dark... Thats unpossible in july.... So the time and day circle is not right at all... Its not always winter in Rosenheim XD

I mean I'm not surprised. At the end of the day, the lights are no modern LED lights. And their primary function is to be seen and not to see. But still, a bit of nightvision wouldn't be too bad.

I'm curious as to which method would be the favoured throttle control for a DB driver in the 111, the old-school tap changer or the variable throttle range?

At a guess, I would say it depends whether they were used to an older wheel-changer loco, or a newer thyristor-throttle loco.

In the cab rides I’ve seen, the down/hold/up control was mostly used.

But when I use the up control, she accelerates like a rocket. Is this authentic/prototypical?

Sounds like you're using the up control wrong to be honest. When starting the train, just go up a notch or two at a time, like you would in a 110. Leaving the handle in the up position is like turning the wheel in the 110 from zero straight to 25 - possibly appropriate while you're coasting at high speed, but you'll blow a fuse if you do it from a standstill. I don't know what it's like on a controller, but on a keyboard, with the lever in hold, if you just tap the up or down keys briefly, the handle goes back into the hold position automatically. That way you can control it really precisely, one notch at a time.

Nice to see that the first party devs can't completely deal with the same problems as we with the PC Editor. That actually lowers expectations for us, which is not a bad thing. Also explains a bit why we have so less tutorials.

    FYI:

    1.
The hole in the terrain could have several reasons. A gap between landscape tiles, an error in the Lidar data or just a conversion failure when preparing the Lidar. Theorectically, should be able to be edited. But we had some cases, where people couldn't glue the gap together:
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/a-hole-in-the-terrain.74043/

    2.
These ground markers are really a hell. They are created automatically when you want to create a curve and the system thinks you want to create a junction (or if you intend to do so). Also the placement of those is always like a gamble, sometimes they stuck in the middle of tracks, sometimes beside and sometimes underneath. When you change the height of the tracks after you have created a junction like that, it's actually ending up in floating them over the tracks. That's how this happens.

    I didn't find a 111, but a BR 140 night ride:

Sure, not the same loco. But I'm pretty sure they use very similar lights (correct me, if I'm wrong). As you can see: nothing. Pitch black.

Oh yes, I figured that. I'm using 30% to 40% for accelerating an RB from standstill. But in order to get to these notches, you have to go through the Up notch on a PS5 controller and it takes a while to get to 1%+. Meanwhile the loco already starts like a rocket. A physical lever stroke on a PS controller is translated into how much time you press the button. I guess that´s where the problem lies. OR: Delay the "Up" response so that you have enough time to discard "Up" and get to 1%.

    That's how I see it.
