Warning: this post includes specific instructions for driving this service successfully -- if you want to take it on with just the instructions provided, do not read any further. ================================================ As noted in the session's description, it involves unloading a rack of HEA wagons. However, those who have not completed the coal loading scenario before taking on this one or who failed to take careful notes while running that scenario (and why would anyone do so?) will almost certainly fail because neither this session nor the route's user manual provides instructions for Speed Control operation. Here's how: 1. Stop the train before reaching the unloading marker. 2. Set Loco Brake to 100%. 3. Set Train Break to Running. 4. Set Reverser to Engine Only. 5. Set Speed Controller to 1 MPH (not the easiest control to find and not pictured in the user manual!). 6. Set Loco Brake to 0%. 7. Set Reverser to Forward. 8. Apply throttle to get moving (around 4 - 5, advance throttle slowly until speed reaches 1 MPH). When unloading is complete, Set Speed Controller to Off to resume using throttle normally. One last spoiler: near end of session, you will be instructed to "Couple to ... Rake of loaded HEA Wagons", but these are the same wagons you just unloaded! As someone who has wished for automated loading and unloading in TS since the beginning, I thoroughly enjoy these tasks on this route!
If people can't see a huge thing on the dashboard right in front of them with "slow speed control" written on it, and a huge speedo the size of a dinner plate, they have no business being in the cab of a train. It's nice that you put up that tutorial, but don't hold peoples' hands too much, or they'll skip the manual and come looking for you every time.
Believe it or not, some of us enjoy offering suggestions -- if you're not one of them, just keep your yap shut.
The instructions included in my OP do not appear in the manual. Fueling instructions, yes; loading/unloading instructions, no. One of the included scenarios provides step-by-step loading instructions (except for returning the train to normal control), but service 0Z09 does not.
sometimes it just doesn't appear to work correctly, for example it works when pushing but not pulling a rake.. then another time its the other way round.
