So have ordered a RTX4070Ti and for other users.... What are the best settings for TSW4 or what are you're favorite settings to test.... So let me know please My complete pc: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 32GB RAM RTX 4070 TI
I don't think any better GPUs than something from the 30 series will do any differences, as the game doesn't even support DLSS or similar... but I myself am pretty fine with these settings... don't need more than this. side note, I use some engine.ini settings for better shadows, thats why I don't need shadow quality on the highest settings, otherwise I would've done that.
Thanks for you're help! What card do you have? And what screen percentage do you use? I use the engine.ini as well.
I have an RTX 3060 with 12GB of VRAM (it's also in my signature below lol), and my screen percentage is set on 100%
I'm using a 4060 Ti 16GB – have everything on Ultra besides Sky (Very High), the Ultra preset of the Lighting Mod by JetWash and am playing with 150% scaling at 2560x1080p, gives me 40fps. So I think the 4070 Ti should give you 60fps at Ultra, though the resolution you play at is a crucial detail that's missing
I go with 4060 and 32GB RAM all maxed. Heavy routes sometimes drop to ~40 fps or even below in some circumstances. Screen percentage 100-150% percent (depends on scenario). 4070 TI will be a blast - do not worry Do not forget to check your Windows power plan settings. PCI Express > Link State Power Management has to be turned off while playing.* * vs possible micro stuttering Razer Cortex boost mode does the job for you, for example. BR o7
You should be able to run with everything on Ultra, but sky medium. Screen percentage 150%. Max FPS at 60. Play the same route a few times, see how you get on, if you feel your getting too much stuttering drop the percentage to 125%
100% render scaling, as 4k on a 28” monitor doesn’t really need more with TAA. I also cap my FPS at 72 (half refresh on my 144 Hz screen) for smoothness. So most of the time it sits at 72, but on heavier routes it can dip a bit below that.
So i have my card since this morning and should i say.... A absolute beast XD Wow what this card can bring to TSW is mind blowing... I had before a AMD RX 6750XT and the diffrence is bizar.... On Bernina on my old card a wasn't able to use 120% scaling (i get stuck under 30 fps) with all stuff on ultra excl clouds/air this is on very high but on my RX 4070TI i can run on 150% scaling (4K with 144p monitor) with all settings the same on Bernina with minimal 45fps.... On other routes i get easely 60FPS Bizar... Thanks for your'e help if you reply to this topic
I have a laptop 3070 so not as powerful as it's big desktop brother. I play 1920x1080 at 100% screen percentage and use the Ultra preset but tone down the sky settings from Ultra to High. The Ultra clouds have a huge impact on performance. I find by setting them at High, I generally get a nice, smooth 60fps in most cases. Usually only get drops in intensive areas like yards or stations when it's really busy.
4070 Ti Super, i7-14700KF, 32GB. Everything on max except Sky, I run the JetWash mod with the high preset. Game on 1440p ultrawide. I get 100-140 FPS on open track, anywhere between 50 and 90 in busier areas.
I've been using an RTX 3070 8GB so far and have always managed 60 FPS on open roads at 2560 x 1440 and high settings (anything below that doesn't feel smooth to me). However, in larger and busier train stations, most recently in Frankfurt where it was sometimes less than 30, the FPS dropped significantly, which bothered me. So I've ordered an RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB and also upgrading the RAM. I'm excited to see what kind of results I can achieve. Thanks also for the tip about the energy saving setting (PCI Express). Does turning it off actually improve performance?
My PC uses 11GB of GPU VRAM in TSW in 4K with everything on Ultra apart from sky and x2 .ini mods to increase foliage. If your 3060 has 12GB VRAM it might be that you are maxing out the available GPU VRAM.
Unfortunately, disillusionment: Despite the RTX3070 TI Super, I only get around 40-50 FPS (WQHD) at Frankfurt Central Station - despite deactivated layers. The Kinzigtalbahn is the least performant route in the entire TSW history.
