For a technical report to be useful, it should contain all the possible details you can think of, so that the developer at DTG can follow your steps to reproduce the issue. If they cannot reproduce the problem in a controlled environment, there's no way to come up with a solution.

So, based on what you wrote, I would suggest you add all the details:
    1. What platform are you on? what other DLCs you have installed, if any?
    2. You say you took over a service. Did you start on foot? In what month, at what time and what station? Which service did you take over (headcode)?
    3. You say you switched cabs. Give us all the controls you touched, in the order you did.
    4. You say "trains go all funny". What exactly does that mean? Did the train roll on its own?

After you wrote your complete script, try to follow it yourself. See if the problem appears again, or maybe you forgot to write down a step or two. When you have a complete sequence which leads to a problem, post the report in a ticket. If you know how, you can also record yourself and upload the video to YouTube and add the link to your ticket.

I filed a ticket just now.

I encountered similar behaviour at Bromsgrove, and have seen it at Glossop (different route) as well.

I tend to leave the train after opening the doors, just before the service ends. I do this so that I can continue free roaming afterwards from the platform and do not find myself still in the driver's seat. When an (invisible) AI driver takes over the service after a few minutes, apparently on resetting the controls it fails to apply the brakes and the train starts rolling if there is an ascent or descent.
    • At Bromsgrove there is a descent and the AI driver SPADs. Funny enough I get the blame for that and my free roam session is terminated.
    • At Glossop there is an ascent and the train rolls backwards against a buffer block.
