It appears further development of the PC Editor is either suspended or very far off in the future. Soon after the first release, the October roadmap was showing regular updates to versions 0.2, 0.3, etc. proposed at 3 month intervals. By the next roadmap, there was a mention of a non-specific update further out in the future. Now any mention of editor updates is gone from the roadmap.

It seems what we have is it for the foreseeable future.

Can anyone from DTG comment on this?

Can you elaborate a bit on what was said Isaak?
I was watching the stream and posted a question about the editor, but being in the EST zone the stream is during our workday and I had to attend business matters and leave the stream early.
    Thanks,

In short: they said nothing about the updates for the Editor. It was just talked about guides, tutorials etc.

The updates just magically disappeared from the roadmap.

I'm not sure we will ever see any updates to the Editor before TSW5 will be released.

The recorded stream talks only about providing more documentation and resources about how to use the editor.
That said, I asked Matt about further editor updates on the GameBlast charity livestream (unfortunately, that section didn't seem to have been recorded). He said that more updates are planned because the editor is not currently in a good state, but there was not a timeline for this.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's encouraging that they are still discussing a development path for the editor. Other than some small sandbox tinkering, I'm hesitant to spend a lot of time on a big project until there is a release that is more complete and stable. Maybe it's still in the pipeline .........

Past experience has shown that DTG discussing something means absolutely nothing in my opinion...

It looks like the editor was accidentally left off the roadmap. A little earlier than the link above, Alex gave this update (cleaned up from the YouTube transcript):

"...some of you have pointed out that our PC editor fixes have stopped being listed from our road map graphic, and I'm pretty sure actually that we ended up missing it off the last graphic for last month and then it didn't get added onto this one, but what I can say is that they should be in there. Our intention that we shared about the PC editor is that to set expectations right we want you to understand that improvements might take a few months, so realistically editor improvement should probably sit in a four to six months category and we'll update you if that changes."

    Direct link is

This was brought up in the February roadmap stream as well:

Yes, they gave this answer after my complaint in the Q&A thread about it already in the February Roadmap stream. However, this is nothing more than sugar-coating the desperated ones IMHO. It didn't come in the past 4 weeks after they said they would do it and it is very unlikely that it will happen.

Still hoping that I will be wrong, however don't expect that to happen.

For improvements to the Editor, I share the exact same opinion as TKessel:
And even that is questionable if you ask me. The Editor is a major point for potential Third Party Developement, however just important for a minority of the player base due to complexity of Unreal Engine, the existance of deal-braking bugs or missing functionality and last but not least said missing documentation and tuturials.

I can only encourage anyone here, to speak about your complaints as much as possible in the forums. Otherwise we might end up being forgotten.

I'm also one who only stays live for the first few minutes of the streams, because I have other obligations in my life. You can rewatch the livestreams at anytime on YouTube. I'll do so every next morning after a stream when I have a break.

In case you don't know, you can place questions regarding the Editor in the monthly Q&A thread for questions that they can answer in the streams. You don't need to actively place them in chat while being live with it.
