very big statement, the right thread for it and I can’t agree i don’t think boring is the right word, it’s more preferences, and i definitely lean more passenger in the US which is where most freight fandom seems to be but definitely more of a mixed fandom from me in Europe
For me it depends on the route. Freight on RSN or MSB i can agree, better then their passenger counterparts , but freight on HMA or AVL, it is just not really... interesting.
They really should rename the stat to "Most AP earned" or something along those lines. While they're at it maybe also adding extra similar statistics like "Most services played" & "Most play time". Perhaps even add in a "favorite train" option that allows the player to actually pick what locomotive's their favorite instead of auto-assigning it based on some arbitrary stat.
I'm somewhere in the middle. I like both sides, but if it's freight it has to be on a passenger oriented route to make it interesting.
I think it also depends on the loco too. Before the Vectron I never really did German freight but I do it more often now
Passenger for me, have never like the idea of freight personally. Though I must admit TVL is the exception to this as I do like that route, also I think I could appreciate the power of a 56/60 if one came.
TVL appealed to me because of the freight aspect, purely because it used the Class 37 and was more than the usual A to B. Whereas most modern UK routes include the 66 and are A to B for the most part.
one rule of PZB that makes my life easier, because sometimes I cant remember the exact meaning of the signal right at the exact moment - if you see any yellow, brake, if you see more yellow, brake hard in case of Austrian PZB, sometimes you need to be cautious even when there are two greens one under the other and as for those US stuffz... once you hear loud noise, brake at suspension level, until stuff stops flashing
actually love that route, especially since they let 182 do those fast REX services using the power of Taurus to do some 7 heavy dosto hauling, maaaan
exactly, I love modern traction, especially stuff like RailJet or Desiro ML... even older stuff, but it has to be electric... oh and ICEs any of them
For me both operations are immersive, depends if one choose to drive most passengers or freight services for long period, at one point you want to drive freight if you have drive passenger service for long time and vice versa
My unpopular opinion is that far too many people on these forums think they are an expert and know everything about the game and company behind it. They become their own echo chamber, feel they wield some sort of power, becoming drunk on the non existent power they never had in the first place.......
My unpopular opinion whit Voralberg route: if they add St. Magrethen, this route is the first to have multiple bord crossings
