I mean... the suggestion is good, but couldn't this be made just with a livery? If not, what is different about it from let's say... the BR 185?

4 system compatibility; different cab (down/hold/up controls for traction and all brake systems); vastly different engine room layout (not that that really matters given DTGs’ disinterest in them); some different sounds (and no annoying electrical buzzing sound in the cab :D)

Essentially, the 186 is a 4 system version of the 2 system 185 with a different cab and a modular engine room that can be used either for electric or diesel traction. I’d really love to see them in TSW to add to the 185s.

From my understanding it is more like a br187 in a br185 shell. Of course you cannot generalise this as there are more differences then that, but it's more like a general difference.

Yes, it essentially supports 4 different voltages: 3 and 1.5 kv DC, in addition to the classic 15 and 25 kv AC. It has four pantographs, like the BR187 and E190. It can go almost anywhere in Europe, adapting the installed safety systems. You see a lot of them here, both in France and Italy.

However that doesn't represent "any livery". That is the DB Cargo Italia livery.
They can be seen like this but with blue bands in France and with the same colors in many Eastern European countries. like simRail!
