    Hi,

just published my interim fix for the invisible instrument needles on the HST at night. Tired of waiting for half a year now.

As I can't find a way to make the needles emissive, I've added a background light. Best at 25% dimmer settings.

As the emissive colours are already in a very low brightness range, I did not manage to do a nice gradient glow which wouldn't show ugly colour banding (because of boosting the values - technically that dimmer knob is not a dimmer but an amplifier) at higher dimmer settings, so I went for a single coloured disc and added a slightly brighter ring around it.

Any chance of a fix for the HST cab light?

The actual light is at the back of the cab, but for some reason the light source is over the windscreen.... i don't know when it got broken.

Moving the lightsource position is easy, but then it has to be brighter. Will give it a try.

The problem is the lamp itself has no lit texture, that's Skyhook's sloppiness. Yes I call it sloppiness. That's not a bug, but a premature release. Still not fixed since release - and that half finished patch breaking the dial lights and 158 gauges in snowy weather (and if you look at the files it looks as if work was abruptly stopped). I just don't understand what is going on there. I mean if you're in possession of the source files it takes an afternoon to fix all this.

I completely understand VictoryWorks recent post in the Enough is Enough Thread. I mean how can you, as developer, playtest your work with all the flaws and look in the mirror and be confident with yourself and your work? A spotlight without a physical lamp from out of nowhere, a dead lamp that's not connected to the CabLight switch... basic stuff that you just have to get right - it's no experiment it has been done before. But what the heck - it's only for that niche game anyway.

The next thing it's defined as a Spotlight, not Pointlight which it should be. Means it has a cone instead of illuminating in all directions - and makes even more problems... oh my. I have absolutely no idea what they were thinking when setting this up, they could have just done it like the GWE HST.

And you could patch it and release the patch immediately - I'm not buying the story of the booked Steam slots. I have many games on Steam and notice how often some are patched sometimes even twice a day, and even DTG release immediate hotfixes if the voices are loud enough. It's not a Steam but a DTG thing.

I'm stopping now - don't want to get into a Skyhook rage again... ;) People are bashing Rivet but imo they are lightyears ahead of Skyhook and on their way to become a premium dev.
