Lol...... I haven't laughed at a reply like that in some time, I do apologise, I couldn't find the world's smallest violin, amazingly something that tiny is easily lost......
I predate the internet so trying to tell me to learn more is pointless, I've seen and lived the evolution of scamming, the way you phrase your sentences and the structure of all your posts makes me think you are probably only 20 years old, I'm the one that would be teaching you things dude lol......
As for being too wound up and snappy, not me lol, you are the only one on the defensive nobody else, and that my friend says volumes about you, but yes back to the trains, on that point I can totally concur with you squire.......

I would say second to the Wonderstuff!

We have turned out around seven quite well known artists/groups, not bad for a small market town!

Well - hard to rank them. Stuffies were the reason I picked up a guitar and starting learning, cause I wanted to play Circlesqare, Cheap Seats, Room 512 etc myself :) Saw them a few times in Switzerland in their heyday, best experience was a small club in Winterthur. I could almost touch Miles' guitar and memorize all the chords (many tabs on the net are wrong).

Poppies - well they spawned an internationally renowned film score composer. And had that great Designers Republic artwork. "I have no worries I do not fret / that some may have what I'm yet to get...." their music is tied to my coming of age :)

I learned to play bass guitar at 14, went to the same school as one of the band members of The Mission, was a female vocalist in a band called 'VN', sang on the same stage as Siouxsie and the Banshees. Mega-stardom was imminent.

    Yesterday....I did the ironing :|

From the March roadmap stream: ¨Load into a scenario, go and do something else until it finishes and when you come back you will see that your run will be much smoother stutter wise¨.
I found this recommendation bitter and sad.

It´s a known fact that UE4 has this weak point and many games suffer from this, however it is not impossible to produce a stutter free game - https://www.pcgamer.com/hi-fi-rush-is-proof-that-unreal-engine-games-can-be-gloriously-stutter-free/

I still wonder why did they chose this engine if they knew it is not adequate for this project!? Must have been something related to costs, they are very sensitive to this factor.

I don´t recall how or if the game has pre-compilation of shaders. This helped many titles, no only on UE4/5, to run smooth.
Is the player supposed to do the pre-compilation on his cost by leaving the game to do a run, go cook dinner in the meantime and then let it get cold in order to play?

In some ways TSW is looking increasingly the poor relation...

Loading up a run in TSC to finish it, announcements about the new Berlin Ringbahn route which referring to a couple of YT clips looks really great. Why isn't TSW getting that?

Then Feather River Canyon Enhanced, improved/extended route with several types of motive power and freight cars. Well it seems TSC World doesn't have any issues sourcing sounds, physics etc. for its routes. TSW meanwhile US freight on hiatus.

There's also the recently released Havre to Shelby route which joins with Marias Pass to give over a 100 mile run.

Never mind, eh. We're getting the 13 mile Goblin line with its one handled electric box for £25. Hoozah!

Yes, as I suggested in another thread, everything else in the universe is expanding while TSW is shrinking. No more steam traction, no more freight?
What's next to go? Achievements? Collectibles? ( Oh no, that would cause the forums to explode!! :D )

Just a thought. Now the route has become " The Suffragette Line ", will we still be able to collect the little goblins? Or would that be disrespectful?

Feather River Canyon Enhanced is great, but lets not go totally overboard- it still has plenty of bugs- on the BN Scenario (it's the 4th one i think) my train all of a sudden goes literally into orbit (i was going about 10mph at the time). You'll fail objectives for being .01 mile too far past the stopping point, and other DTG classics lol. And, the loco sounds are very hit and miss IMO.

Overall, though, i'd love to see that route in TSW, and it SHOULD be one tailor-made for the auto-scenery tool with tons of forested wilderness with a few more built up areas along the way.

If anyone from DTG is reading, the operations in FRE are what we need in TSW, and route choice is a key factor- if they pick a route with:

Multiple lineside industries to be serviced.

At least a couple of branches.

The route has 2 logical termini.

The absence of timetable mode is sorely missed on TSC, especially for AI.

I think if DTG could find a way to expand upon free roam by adding a little more structure- e.g. the game could randomly spawn cars at industries for you to pick up based on the initial locomotive and consist that you choose when you launch- voila you now have local freight runs- THAT combined with timetabled AI could be the secret sauce for US freight IMO. A-B runs would still be in the game- you'd still be able to run the normal timetabled services if you want, but local freights and switching are the interesting parts IMO.

Totally agree on Berlin Ringbahn btw- that seems perfect for TSW- another strange choice lol.

Ringbahn has nothing to do with DTG. It was done by BAHNJAN / VirtualTracks and took more than two years to develop. So the choice is not strange at all, as Jan is a very experienced TSC developer and had the idea to do this route for his simulator of choice.

Thanks for the heads up re FRE. Might wait for a sale on that one. Certainly true some of the TSC North American locos are showing their age. Eventually fired up a Quick Drive on Stevens Pass which I don’t think I’ve ever driven from end to end. Picked a consist with the CP ES44 and instantly you notice the low res cab, lack of opening doors, operational switches etc. However Stevens is a behemoth 120 mile route which is probably going to take 3 or 4 hours to drive end to end.

Ringbahn sounds like I will be adding it to my collection ASAP. Note what Spikee1975 says about it being a labour of love and it shows in the YT clips I watched. Maybe one day it will come to TSW, we have several U-Bahn routes in TSC now but nothing in TSW.

I don't think they should resort to Free Roam for interesting operation - if you have a lot of sidings with industries, USE THEM in the timetable, make the timetable interesting, not just four shunt moves completely disconnected from the rest. Free roam shouldn't be a shortcut. We've seen that with their very frequent "Well train X is not layering onto the older route Y, BUT... you can use the scenario planner, so we don't have to do extra work"

Couldn't agree with this more. It is totally ridiculous that someone goes to all the trouble of building a complicated route only for 50% of it to be shut-off to most of the game.

The same could also be said about the lack of paths in routes. This really hampers scenario development. Nearly every route could be vastly improved by just adding a couple of extra paths and utilising (or adding) portals.

Improving these two aspects of game-play would actually go along way towards resolving many of the community's wishes and breath new life in to many 'stale' routes.

Vern - the CajonPass ES44 is the OLDEST US loco in the game from the RailSimulator US assets.... Choose wisely :) The Searchlight AC44 is a reference model.

Stevens Pass for me is THE most interesting route in TSC - you have the gentle hills starting from Wenatchee, Apple Yard, driving through the apple plantations, then climbing Stevens Pass through gorgeous landscapes, then it flattens out as you reach the coast and even the Boeing factory and Everett harbour can be served. Apply AP sky which fits the latitude well and it's a timeless classic with massive amount of things to do plus hundreds of fine workshop scenarios. (Not to be confused with Creators Club scenarios which are so limited by only offering preset paths and no ability to add scripts or scenery).

And you have that guided four parts tour which tells you historic facts about the route as you're passing landmarks. It's the most complete pack you can wish for (and it's 11 years old). If I had to keep one route only it'd be Stevens Pass plus the GN/BN/BNSF stock.

As for Feather River, note the amount of stock and freight cars in TSC - which just isn't there in TSW, you'd get one loco plus maybe two or three different freight cars whereas in TSC they can put in 50+ different cars with real brandings and six or so locos.

This route is "too big" for TSW, which is much more restricted in terms of licenses. And development cost is higher (though the routes are generally not more detailed, it's the same principle of creating terrrain and putting 3DSMax objects onto it. UE has the advantage of offering more advanced shaders. And many objects in TSC are of equal fidelity, as it has no polycount restriction. Turn off all the UE postprocess effects and inspect the routes - they are often of a very bland nature, something which is attributed to TSC by people that have only seen old Kuju routes. If I put say TSC's FRE next to TSW's Peninsula Corridor, the latter looks much more outdated - a bit unreal - and the fact that the base terrain/grass material is overly reflective and reflects the sun like a metal plate in TSW4 adds to this.

Many routes in TSW are "saved" by the permanent fog starting at 400 (!) metres distance to obscure the distant scenery (this just hit me playing LFR on a clear summer's day and noticing the blue fog everywhere). Of course a little atmospheric fog is needed to add depth to the scenery (that's why noon TSC screenshots using "3D 1.Clear" weather often look bland - because that weather pattern uses no fog at all). Increasing the fog start and using simple tweaks like lowering the ExposureBias for more natural colours and less whiteout helped a little.

When it comes to fine scenery, only Niddertalbahn, Berninaline and Preston-Blackpool-Ormskirk really stand out for me. And Fife Circle probably will - I'm looking forward to that one.

One thing - Berninaline uses some textures from TSC for information billboards that are actually of higher resolution in TSC...

Just to add a little context. I was trying to think of a way to add life to timetable mode in a way that doesn't break the AI.

I believe DTG has stated before that certain more complicated player tasks are hard to implement because the AI has to be able to complete them as well. I'm thinking of loading/unloading specifically, but i'd imagine getting the AI to do picukups and setouts is no picnic either.

If the player train is "uncoupled" from the rest of the timetable, it should allow for more room for freedom/improvisation. I'm no programmer so maybe it's completely unfeasible lol

    Thank you.
After all the years, I still feel that Courage is the best cartoon ever made. The type of humor combined with the social analogies and inspiration made it truly one of a kind.

As of December last year I have a husky. I have been through the most difficult months of my life. Trying to train him properly combined with their renowned stubbornness is a criminal combination. But the results of the hard work are already showing and I can see the light of the other end of the tunnel. He´s only 5 months old but he learned a ton. I love him!
    Attaching a recent pic.

I hope I don´t embarrass myself too much, is your avatar from Bannerlord? :D

Never knew about huskies' stubbornness. I remember as a kid I was always delighted to see a husky because they were unfailingly friendly, as well as being strikingly beautiful dogs.

As soon as he learned some of the ways around the house and knew his backup in certain situations he gladly chose the easy way. For example, I was trying to teach him to sit and was not in the mood at all. Even his favorite treats were not stimulating him to do it. But since huskies are always hungry, he remembered that he had some food left in a toy meant to be agitated in order to release treats so that he consumes his immense energy and he gladly took that instead, not forgetting to let me know his plan on the way.

He ¨talks¨ a lot and he hates to lie down. He feels dominated if he does. Every time he barks to let me know he´s not happy to do it. Being closely related to the wolf, he has the instinct to dominate and impose himself among us in the family and that is something hard to sculpt in order to keep him happy as well as keeping matters in check around the house. Sometimes I feel he has us as pets.:)

It´s harder to make dog friends since he has his own very energetic playstyle which most other dogs don´t enjoy. I´m lucky to live in the upper part of the city since the hills are great for being in nature rather than on the streets.

It´s been my favorite breed too since I was a child and now the time has arrived.

Be patient with him. They always want to do the right thing to please their owner. It's just that they sometimes don't know yet HOW. I've got no experience with Huskies, other than my Shi-Tzu Lady always attacking the neighbor's Husky. But then Shi-Tzus are legendarily stubborn Kamikaze dogs with a notable delusion of grandeur. They go after triple their size without measuring consequences. And if you cease easily they´ve got you wrapped around their paws and dominated. People see them as fluffy lap dogs, but actually they hate to be taken on the lap. Only very selected people are allowed to pick them up.

But all these troubles will fade from your memory because they will give you so much back. Only a dog is able to be such an unconditional partner. You won't regret it.

So, how do we get back to DTG bashing? Ah, I know: DTG seems to hate dogs, there´re none in TSW. What? Moths? Shame on you guys!

Talking about dogs I remember that time when a Golden Retriever in my familly decided to eat frigolite :| or a pair of hearing aids that costed 2k€. He was hit by a car when he was 2 and has been a bit crazy ever since. But he's kind !

I appreciate it a lot! VictoryWorks You are very kind.
    Pipe She is lovely, congratulations!
I think it´s prohibited to bring dogs or other animals on board the trains built by DTG. No passenger ever brought one. They rarely have luggage so I guess we are not there yet. They need to put this in the surveys.

Snowrunner has beautiful graphics and is all about remote places yet not a single animal ever appears. They put some bird sounds though but that was it. I wonder why it is decided to not include them!?

Speaking of animals and trains, the most unique thing I have seen was a group of people trying to push a horse inside a low entry dosto coach... I can never erase this from my memory.
Who knows, maybe one day the donkey in TSW will be modded to do this. :D

Or people. Or any sort of AI. I mean, I love Snowrunner but the empty world was a mechanism that might have worked on the early levels, you were essentially the four wheel McGyver going in to sort out a post disaster damage but it starts to wear a bit thin. I mean on Scandinavia you are supporting a film production company with several sets over the two maps, but not a soul in sight. I'm guessing Explorations has perpetuated that. So I guess we should be grateful that TSW does have people wandering about the stations even if they act like they're on valium and moving vehicles, even if they float above the road Back To The Future style and ignore my 300 tonne 90 MPH express bearing down at level crossings!

OldVern I´ve seen a few hours of Explorations streamed on Twitch the past weekend. At best it can be a DLC of Snowrunner. It doesn´t detach enough to be a different game in my opinion.

Soon the fiscal year ends. I am curious to see the results and deltas to last year for DTG, then put two and two together to see if ads up with some of their statements.

I'm not particularly keen on personal insults, assuming you're talking about 390001.

That user's actions speak for themselves.

That is probably true. I was linked to this because it was brought up, and I'm only going to add that he has made it a mission to "correct" me everywhere I go on these forums myself. Numerous times I've reported him and there seems to be a lack of understanding as to what I report.

That said, this thread should not be about a specific user. Let's get back on topic, to the new TSW that is coming after TSW3. :D

Nonsense. Read the topic post. Can't you see he talks about the next game after TSW3? Just admit I'm right and you're wrong!

(For anyone, including mods, not clear on this, we're both jesting here, and I wanted to end it at the prior post. LOL)
