Are DTG every gonna go back to the 801? The doors still open and close way too fast, the motors sounds are almost non existent and the door chimes are quiet asl
Safe to say... no, they will not. You'd probably have more chance of winning the lottery than that happening.
Had a drive in the 801 yesterday evening and the sounds are still most unfulfilling. The cab is so quiet it's almost as bad as the 1442 on RT. A little licence could be applied to put a bit of traction "whine" audible from the cab.
Sounds have been something DTG have had complaints for for years way back to TSC days. They do modelling and route building to a perfect T but sounds is the issue. This can also be the same for other simulators out there as well. With TSC you have Armstrong powerhouse who released sound packs to enhance stuff I do wonder if one day we may see them appear as big in TSW as they are in TSC.
Its crazy because its not that the 801 sounds are 'bad' or 'wrong' they are just quiet. Other than that I am quite impressed with what DTG pulled off.
Sadly the 801 seems to have spun to the outer edge of the Dovetail Flywheel if not off altogether. It’s a shame, as I said above not a bad train to drive but the audio stimulation needs a buff.
Is there any update at all from DTG on this? I'm quite sick of the inaudibility of the door sounds in particular - they are extremely loud in real life yet barely audible in the simulation.
Probably never I’m afraid, we complained about Electrostar’s doors sound to be too much quiet especially outside and since then… still nothing.
The one thing about the Azuma that puzzles me is the missing roof lights. They've modelled them on the 700 but omitted them on the Azuma!
Bit off topic but the class 37 sounds need a huge upgrade it sounds nothing like one... Is it a possibility you could approach AP or something?
