Full Route: Birmingham New Street (or London Euston) - Milton Keynes Player Route: Birmingham New Street - Milton Keynes Route Time: 1 hour 43 minutes Route Distance: 57 Miles Stations: Birmingham New Street, Marston Green, Birmingham International, Hampton-In-Arden, Berkswell, Tile Hill, Canley, Coventry, Rugby, Long Buckby, Northampton, Wolverton, Milton Keynes Main Rolling Stock: 350 Possible DLC Rolling Stock: 390 (BNS-Milton Keynes) AI Rolling Stock: 323 (Birmingham New Street) Route Map:
I’ll be totally honest with you, I have no idea . BNS is very empty in TSW currently, so why not add a 350 (Possibly a 390 with the DLC)? I have noticed that the 350 tend to to long routes so i was delighted that i saw that some 350’s head from BNS to Northampton. There’s not a lot of variety for further add-ons for Northampton, you’ll see a 319 here and there, and ik a c2c rolling stock passes through Northampton, but that’s really much it. But for Birmingham International? A variety of trains stop or pass through there.. also i just like the route lol..
Even better Watford Jn to Birmingham New Street (avoids them having to build the complex section into Euston). But to get part of the WCML in there I would take MKC, maybe extend through to Bletchley though for the 350 depot.
Just a couple of miles to the south of MKC. Junction for the line across to Bedford and the famous "white elephant" concrete flyover to the currently mothballed Oxford line via Verney Junction.
This is the second time someone has suggested ending a route just outside the terminus. First GEML to end at Stratford and now WCML at Watford. If all parties involved in development didnt build a a route because it had complicated bits we would barely have any german routes nor southern english routes. Also Harrow & Wealdstone - Queens park is already built all they need to do is Queens Park- Euston and Harrow-Watford. They did it in TSC im sure they can do it in TSW.
I like the idea but if we're making a segment of route, it would be better to have it reflect at least one realistic type of operation. AFAIK there are no regular services from Birmingham that terminate at Milton Keynes either for WM or Avanti. Better to have, for example, Wolverhampton to Rugby so you get a full drive in a service that is usually a 350 and a chunk of Avanti services, or go from Birmingham all the way to London, or London to Northampton and/or Rugby.
My main suggestion was from BNS to Northampton, but a few suggested to end at MK, hence why I changed it.
