As the developer behind ThirdRails, I was inspired by a question posted here, some time ago, about how to create multiple scenarios from a single template and alter the Player Train in each cloned scenario. Excitingly, the latest update to ThirdRails now enables users to change the Player Train within a scenario. This enhancement introduces several benefits: 1. It allows for driving various trains in a single scenario, offering unique perspectives with each train. 2. It facilitates a multiplayer experience, enabling two players to choose different trains and start their journeys at the same time. Through ThirdRails broadcasting, players will not only detect each other on their radars—a feature that's been around since 2018—but they will also see each other in-game, passing by in real-time. This brings an unprecedented level of multiplayer interaction to TSC! To demonstrate, I've created a scenario available for download on the Steam Workshop, featuring 4 distinct services to experience. You can access the scenario at: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3175393909 The scenario's description provides all the necessary information for those interested in exploring this experimental feature. Its effectiveness and reception are yet to be fully evaluated.
I saw that in the Workshop while poking around yesterday and I thought, hmm, does that actually work? I then noticed I'd never seen you in the Workshop before and realize I need to download your other scenarios anyway. Friends not required (yet).
