    Hi!

I am in the process of ordering a new PC. I am currently using a 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor, which I intend to replace later for a 3440x1440 ultrawide. There are 2 graphics cards that I'm torn between, the RTX 4070 Super and the RTX 4070 Ti Super. I don't really want to spend the extra money on the 4070 Ti Super, but I'm not entirely sure that the RTX 4070 Super (non-Ti) can drive TSW4 at 1440p ultrawide.

My goal is to run TSW4 at 1440p ultrawide resolution with maxed settings at 60 FPS, with as little stuttering and framerate dips as possible.

Does anyone have experience running TSW4 with a 4070 Super at this resolution? Should I get this card, or take the plunge and go for the Ti?

    Thanks!

Both should do the job perfectly well - it's a matter of how much you want to invest for being "future-proof" (which you will never be, but stuff fortunately doesn't get obsolete as quickly as in the 90's/00's - I've been using a 2011 i-7 CPU for eleven years, good long-term choice back then).

I'm running on an HD monitor, using 150% scaling (for crisp TAA output) which means the GPU is rendering at 2880x1620 @ 120FPS. (4K at 78 FPS)

My target FPS to have fluid motion pleasing my eyes is 75 FPS so I have plenty of room for ini tweaks at 120 FPS.

There was a nice thread, unfortunately not many participated here...

DX12 puts the bulk of the load on the GPU, but of course, when deciding to get a new rig go for the best (second best may be the best choice in relation to price vs value though) and it will last a few years. :)

Yeah! I think I've settled on the 14700KF.

Huh, so you're saying you have no problems running the game even at 4K with a 4070 non-Super?

The 4070 SUPER can do what you're after. I'm on a 3080Ti and play at max settings 4k. You'll be fine at 1440p.

From the AMD side, I would go with an RX 7700xt as that will likely provide the best value for the task while being noticably cheaper than a 4070 Super. I currently have an RX 6700xt and it has no trouble running the game at 1080p60 with 150% scaling (around 70-80 fps when uncapped).

I can even run 4k 60 fps in some case but that's not very stable and has noticable dips down to around 40 fps.

You could of course go higher with an RX 7800xt but that's just for futureproofing and won't really help the goal here.

That's great news, thanks! You made my wallet happy, sir :D

I know! I'm currently running a 5700XT and I must say it's been a very long time since I've been this happy with a GPU. The problem is, that nVidia seems to have overtaken AMD on features that I'm interested in, like raytracing and DLSS. I know they aren't very relevant for TSW, but I do play other games sometimes. I know AMD has been catching up lately, but I wouldn't bet on their implementation of these technologies while it's in infancy.
