Route London Overground Suffragette Line - Feedback Thread

The route is looking great and I can’t wait to get it when it releases! Only thing I noticed was that there was a floating bush near the part of the line where the ECML crosses over the tracks, and as other players have noted the doors should close but remain openable, without interlocking, after 45 seconds. Fix the door interlock PLEASE. I dont see why we should have to reopen the doors and close them again just so we can depart.

Once you decided to trial the feature you must have noticed that issue, Matt definitely did.

It clearly doesnt work as its meant to do so why include it?

 

usually the train is meant to interlock, for me I have been on a class 345 and sometimes the doors close but aren't locked. The Driver usually is the one locking. That has to be on the train as it could be hazardous to passengers onboard, by interlocking, it keeps passengers safe.

 

Also to note, the breaks hugely need improving. It's almost like the 377 on eastcoastway where the brake is actually applied at late step 2. Could you guys improve it as for me, at around step 1, it could be coming down. And with the sound, their is an off tune when the train leaves as their is a electric standstill sound which shouldn't sound like it. It's around either the 3rd of 4th coach

 

After uncoupling on the first service of the day and heading to the other end to run service 5L03 I find that I cannot release the interlock,

Running the 710 on PS5

 

Good route and train my question is this is there a error on the left pis train screen as I always do for a new loco I spawned in on foot at Eastbourne and spawned in the 710 however despite selecting DC mode on east coastway the top right of screen is displaying yellow box around black pantagraph and 25V kc should there not be a rail on something showing instead given DC system running ?

 

The route is very beautiful, but the cap need some extra work on the PS4. All buttons are blurry and round shapes are a little off. The G wagons on Bremen had kinda the same problem when the route was released (I suspect it has something to do with the older hardware of the PS4 but it should be fixable)
There is also a big problem with unreadable signs and blurry passengers. There is definitely some work to be done, but nothing out of the impossible

 

Umm you don't? If the doors lock automatically you're good to go, which they shouldn't in real life but that's besides the point.

The reason Matt was having trouble was because he's used to having to lock the doors after every stop, so he was opening them by mistake. He said so in the stream.

 

Looking good, the route and the train makes fun.

 

Route is great. I'm on PS5 and the ai 700 going over on the ECML has some sort of graphical error. See attatched.

 

DTG Alex do not see the new london overground route on steam i am in the usa. will it show up later today?

 

Leytonstone high road pis is wrong way round. Ie. Gospel oak bound trains it shows barking riverside and visa versa - PS5

 

Again on PS5 a graphical glitch, see attached.

 

During The Flood scenario, the wipers suddenly stop working and I can’t see out of the cab (PS5)

All good! It was a mod I had forgotten in there, off to driving around, will be back after that with feedback. Based on what I've seen on streams I expect it to be possitive!

It was a mod. There was one hidden that didn't show up in my list. My appologies.

Tried loading route introduction and 1st scenario in the Journey mode. (I'll look the name of the scenario up in a bit)
Training however, worked without issue. It had to do with the improved visuals mod.

For what it's worth, I'm on a i9 9900k with an NVidia RTX 2080.

 

A couple of minor things about the intro script:

It says "Gospel Oak was opened in the London Borough of Camden in 1860", but the borough didn't exist until 100 years later. You could reword it as

"Gospel Oak, in the London Borough of Camden, was opened in 1860"

Also the script says "travel through North West London" which isn't really what you're doing. Gospel Oak is the only station in NW London.

The sign up to platform 1 at Gospel Oak said "trains to Richmond and Clampham Junction"

 

Currently doing a fictional 8 car 710 deadhead on the BML from the West London line to Lovers Walk. I noticed if you switch from D.C mode to A.C (when in third rail territory), it seems to get stuck that way. Can’t switch back to D.C.
I also notice that the power source indicator in cab shows 25KV despite running on Third rail. For some reason, I’m also getting massive wheel slip when starting from a stop in dry conditions (with anything more than 40% throttle.). Can see sparks flying from the 2nd car.
Edit: Does anyone know how to shut the saloon lighting off? This is a pretty good train overall. Love the sounds. Especially the brake release.

 

The route turned out spectacularly well. The overhead lines look great, the ballast is varied and looks great. The overall level of detail is very high and there is some nice clutter along the line. I'm particularly impressed with how well the stations are modelled. The posters around the stations look great and even some interiors of offices and such are modelled.

The 710 seems quite nice overall although I do not have much of a frame of reference. However, the auto-locking doors are kinda ruining the experience for me. It feels so unrealistic and really takes me out of the experience since the auto-locking doors are removing an action you would normally have to perform as a driver. It also looks particularly silly with AI trains sitting at termini where the dwell times are a bit longer: the AI is just sitting there closing and reopening its doors every 40 seconds. I think maybe if you cannot implement certain features like this properly, it might be better to not implement them at all until you can.

 

The training module unlocks the collectibles achievement and the collectibles unlock the training module achievement.
Something has gone wrong here. This bug has already appeared on other routes, Niddertalbahn for example.

The Class 66 AI is running with flashing hazard lights (service 2J53). This bug has already been found on other routes and was reported here in the forum. It has not been dealt with to date. Instead, the bug is simply transferred to new routes which is very disappointing.

Apart from that, I really like what I've seen so far.

tried to run the 710 on the paddington to reading line thinking you know , with both being aventras and panto power it'll work but no. it just refuses to move and i'm wondering if the OHL are just for decoration.

 

Well, didn’t expect to buy this Day One, but having watched a couple of streams, I decided not to postpone the inevitable.

Really enjoying it. It may only be short, but the level of detail is excellent. I’m finding it very atmospheric. The train is nice to drive and a pleasant change from my usual favourite German Trains with their shouty safety systems. Ideal for a quick play between work and tea time. No real complaint about the price considering the work that seems to have gone into it.

A couple of minor things though. In the training centre I fell down between the platform and the train. Passengers in general, whilst it’s great that there are lots of them, it’s not so great that they seem to have a complete disregard for their own safety. In one run I’ve seen a head and shoulders stuck through the platform and people hovering over the track in front of me.

In general though, extremely happy with this one. In fact both the last 2 releases have been excellent. Makes me feel slightly less bitter about Maintalbahn.

 

Fab route. I love driving alongside the rooftops of the streets of London.

EDIT - the following bit about textures appears to have been a loading issue as all later sessions I have played have all high quality textures.

A bit of feedback about cab textures… Not the graphical glitch in the cab as posted above (post #15) but the textures are quite low resolution in parts of the cab on PS5. I wouldn’t expect that to be the case for trains on PS5 and isn’t the case on most trains in the sim. They look like the textures from when I played TSW2020 on PS4 back in the day. I expect better for TSW4 on PS5.

PS Sorry no screenshots to illustrate this as I require a workaround to get screenshots to the forum (USB drive and use of a computer other than this iPad and I don’t have a USB drive handy right now). No need for any advice on a quicker way as this is due to my personal preference and other boring reasons.

 

Just had a spin on the route, wow I must say this is the most detailed route Dovetail Games have produced for TSW. The immersion is absolutely 100% with the attention to detail (all the correct signage included, even the streets have direction signs, dioramas, services, etc) I found myself getting carried away doing two back to back services and riding as a passenger on the 710 when I only intended to do one service.

Since this is a feedback thread I must also include the negatives, though I will say these are surprisingly few compared to other releases (DTG learning from their mistakes?)
Bugs -
1. Floating bush still apparent on the Gospel Oak side of the bridge where the ECML crosses over the Goblin Line, this was visible in the preview stream and it was acknowledged by DTG Alex when I pointed it out in this thread.

2. Class 710 is unable to take power when the DRA is applied in the cab on the other end of the train

3. Multiple stations have incorrect map locations, e.g. the Blackhorse Road platform route map stating you're currently at Gospel Oak and showing subsequent stations from there

4. GSMR goes blank randomly, sadly this is a bug ported over from older content

5. After finishing a service and doing a return journey no passengers will spawn at stations (not sure if this is due to mods or the way I was playing by taking over the service on foot)

6. In-cab Door Release buttons should illuminate when passenger doors are released

Overall I must say this is a brilliant and well made route, I think it says a lot that most of the bugs seen are relatively minor and easily fixable seeing as other routes have been in shall we say less stable states upon release. I can honestly say my biggest frustration with this route so far is literally a floating bush.

To all the people mentioning the price to length ratio, I believe the detail packed into this route makes up for that and may be something that can only come with a route of this length. It also makes sense seeing the major licensing emphasis on this route, it was mentioned DTG and TfL worked together very closely and the price is likely a result of that.

Final words - I'd definitely recommend picking this up at some point, even if it's not your thing on the surface level I believe this is a route that everyone should experience at least once, and if you don't like it just refund it! Though I do hope this is the standard level of quality we get going forwards, DTG have certainly set a new bar here.

 

I think the release of the Blackpool route last November by JT, has made DTG up their game.
This route is certainly a massive step up in quality from most of their previous routes (UK). I have no trouble in recommending this route for anybody interested.

I am having the same crashes to desktop on my PC - No mods installed ! Currently I have only been able to play the 710 tutorial when I try to play anything else I also get a crash to desktop. My PC is an AMD and I am running windows 11. Can DTG look into the stability of this please. Regards Artful

 

Is it a known problem that after doing more then one service the passengers start to disappear?
I was doing "Barking Riverside - Gospel Oak - Barking Riverside - Gospel Oak" and on the last service I was having zero passengers for the entire route.

 

fixed it, it was the enhanced signal visuals mod that was breaking it for me! but it doesent show up in the mod manager.

 

I have noticed that the performance often drops, which was never the case with the recent English routes. Sunrise and sunset in particular cause frame rate drops. Does anyone else feel this way?

 

The OHLE on GWE is purely a visual asset. It is not set to run electrified trains on.

One of your best. Though I already own the TSC version + NLL which is already a class of its own, I decided to give it a go and have to say it was a good choice.

Beautifully modelled, just finished a Class 66 freight run. There is much to look at, the scenery is just interesting and you get more value than from ECML where you just see... nothing but trees. The track gradients add to the experience and make this a surprisingly good experience.

Performs well, no stutters even on first run.

 

OK, DTG, you won. I've bought your route on day one again. I know, I wrote I will wait for a sale. But all the screenshots, the scenery is so inviting. But... dear DTG - I'm still mad at you. This poor detail - announcements... The route would be double as good immersionwise. Please, please, once again, add those in an update! And if you can, revisit Bakerloo when you have the core feature ready...

 

Finding it to be a very enjoyable route to drive, not too taxing and the addition of AI traffic for example the ECML make it feel like being in the real world.

Personally I'd love to see the train be put on to certain other routes, for example on ECML and Midland Mainline where for example you can be operating a diesel loco hauling a 4 to 12 car rake of the Overground trains to either Doncaster or Derby to be repaired before hauling them back again in separate timetable services.

 

What a nice route with so much details and high quality assets. Its short but so much fun to drive. I love the trains that you can see and all the layers are stunning to get the route to this level! Thank you so much.

PS5. I own class 33 but not showing in the route. I watched the live stream preview and when Matt showed the layers it was on there. Anyone else have this issue?

 

A wonderful route that is well modelled and nice to have lots of urban areas either side of the line where it is elevated. The fully working lifts are a nice touch too. It’s fun to drive.

 

Quick feedback as I keep looking through. I'm enjoying the route quite a lot, especially the 710. And I think whoever is in charge of populating the map with nice sound sources all over the place ( like the guy typing on the laptop or the barista preparing drinks ) should get a praise!

One thing I dislike is that the freight services doesn't describe what kind of cargo you're taking, or wagons. I have this same problem on the Dresden to Riesa route.

On the Salzburg route this isn't an issue.

Great route overall, rolling stock and scenery are very well done.

The rolling stock does have my pet peeve for British rolling stock on the Raildriver in that the AWS reset button is assigned to one of the small blue buttons on the front of the raildriver (which is incredibly hard to find quickly when you hear the AWS warning horn go off) instead of using the large, easy to find alerter button.

Some British rolling stock does use the alerter button for AWS reset but not all. In the case of this rolling stock it's assigned to "alerter" instead of AWS reset...is that even a thing on British trains? It doesn't seem to do anything when I press the button. Also the bell button is not used for anything, either would be far better for the AWS reset.

 

Really enjoying this one so far , only thing letting it down is the lack of announcements (don't under stand how third party devs can do this but DTG can't) and I've encountered an issue where the games crashes at Barking Riverside when offloading passengers

 

I can't seem to move the class 710 when the reverser is in secure but when u select forward still doesn't move
