So yes, it's still early to give a proper feed back, but I have some criticism points Positive -The model is very good -You can finally use another locomotive for the 463 -the sound is ok - Finally the FIS works in the dostos -The brake and driving behavior is good -The engine is well done, looks wonderful -The DB BR111 can use on different routes Negative - Unfortunately, you can't go through the engine compartment again, so you have to change complicated driver's cab And make the safety Systems The engin room looks pretty good () The route Positive -Wonderful landscape, beautiful train stations -A lot of A.I traffic -The picturesque landscapes and mountains on the horizon are really well done -I'm a big fan of I say, to stretch the village/So over fields/forests/mountains I personally find something wonderful -The design of Salzburg Central Station is really well done, just the many small details Negative -the train numbers a missing like RB22 Or RE12 -Salzburg seems lifeless hardly people that hardly trains and that for such a great train station / Conclusion after more than 9 hours On the whole, the route is really well done The scenarios have not been tested now, except for two 1.Bucket of rain 2. dysfunctional Madness Nr.1 works smoothly No.2 there were problems with the Siefer. I had to release the pedal again and again with X, (So let's not say manually as usual with. Circle The functionality. The double-decker train is terrific, I am surprised by what DTG has done here.
the missing engine room (AGAIN GOD DAMN IT) is really sad. we already expected this for the Vectron, which also got us disappointed. I thought DTG heard the call and did it right this time. guess not. Apparently they only add it if it's absolutely necessary e.g. when the entrance doors to the loco are not on the cab but rather located in the middle, such as seen on the Taurus.
Re the sounds, is it an obvious alias to the 110 and 103 or sufficiently different? Will probably wait until some YT clips appear then compare with Zusi 3.
you can still hear sounds from the 110, but there are some sound changes, and no it's not just the throttle switch and the horn.
Well, you can use them, but you have to go to the train station. For example, if you are standing on the left, you have to open the doors on the right
Yes, you could have done it, like with 143/112/182, but no, you were apparently too bad for that again
As Trainsa, a german youtuber who also drives the BR 111 in reality, said in his review of the 111: The sounds are surprisingly good by DTG Standards, the physics and the 3D model are great.
Here it is, a review by a real life 111 driver: Stuff like breaking behaviour is -and i quote- surprisingly realistic.
dnv3 Why is the forward pantograph up in all your screenshots? In the second screenshot it should be the rear pantograph up, not the forward one. Please don't tell me that AI trains again have the wrong pantograph up or the player train spawns this way?
there are no timetable services with the N-Wagen so that's a self-spawned formation. what a relief, eh?
I think that was a general question from him, whether the pantograph bracket is generally at the front top,
apart from the once again too dark headlight textures on the vehicle, the lighting does act good on TOD3 routes. good job DTG
Yes, the tests on the older routes also surprised me positively. So, this time I can't complain so much xD I hope that DTG will continue to make as much effort as it does now Good work for the team
I think it's safe to say that the BR 111 is almost on Par with the Vectron. It's a very spectacular well done locomotive
I also have to agree that the BR 111 turned out surprisingly well for DTG conditions. The only thing that bothers me a little is that the Tap Changer shifts up a little too quickly Because in reality, if you move the drive controller to the level where the tap changer shifts up, a certain amount of time has passed, about 1.5 seconds. But still great locomotive!
So far from the previews we have been getting, one of the things that bothers me mostly is that the little indicator over the power needle isn't working as it should. It behaves differently on these locomotives. The little white indicator only moves if the loco starts wheel slipping. Then there's also an orange indicator that should indicate the maximum dynamic brake force. This is currently set at 0 kN on the 111 in-game. Here's an example of a BR 111 IRL on the 12th power notch. Note how the white indicator is at 0. And now note how the white indicator has tendency to follow the force needle when using the dynamic brakes. In-game it looks like this currently:
Route crashed on Xbox Series S Locomotive: BR 111 Service: RE (79025) München - Salzburg, 16:30 (4.30 pm) Game crashed right while reaching Freilassing station CTD in the same way like it still happens on SWK and BRO occasionally
Even a swiss Re420 / 620 sounds like a br 110. The traction noise of those thyristor locos with "Stufenschaltung" are very similar. Its rather the fans / running noise which are different. Even a cl.47 has similar noise coming from the traction motors. You almost cant hear it because the loud diesel engine.
Overall glad the 111 is getting positive feedback. Like usual maik and TSG keep up their standard of good quality. (Never disappointed)
yeah the only thing that keeps damaging my excitement is the engine room, which literally is not there.
Thats why the 182 is one of my favourite to do runs incl. Train preparation etc. You can walk through the engine room. I wouldnt mind a simplyfied gangway. Thats a taurus nightjet at wolfurt
Fantastic loco this time around. What I (still) don't like is the "brake scream noise" and brake release sound. Hopefully mods will fix that quickly, but, I don't like to rely on mods as TSW5 will break them. You can't get everything in this world
The throttle on the 111 is hard to control using a Rail Driver. Tried do a re calibration but didn't help any. Guess its the keyboard for this unit, at least for throttle control.
From the feedback it seems too sensitive with the keyboard as well, at least the run up and run down is too fast.
There is also no gauge that I can see (without having the old HUD back on) which shows which tap you are in so you can move the lever back to the Hold position. The digital display on the dash simply shows where the control system has moved the current level too in order to prevent an overload. Generally these things will cruise along comfortably in Notch 12 - 15 depending on linespeed but I need to know where the actual position is set.
What I have found with the keyboard, once you start the unit, a quick press and release of the 'A; or 'D' keys, will move the tap changer one spot and return to the hold position. If you hold either key down for any time the tap changer will continue to increase or decrease, you have to press the other key twice to get back into hold.
Yes I am getting better with it and anticipating where the sweet spots are. It's easier once running at speed as then the digital readout is a better guide. But there are so many gradient changes on the route it is a nice challenge as you can't just do as on many routes accelerate to line speed, throttle back and coast. Approaching one station on a descending gradient about 2km out I started to brake down to 65 km/h or thereabouts, to suddenly see it change to 0.9% rising! Had to put a bit of throttle back on to keep momentum into the station.
a quick question - does BR111 have only Sifa and PZB? just wondering, cos some of the older locos including BR110 have LZB included
Only PZB and Sifa. It is nice that the 110 does have LZB in TSW, but not a lot 110's in reality got LZB. Both locomotives are also not permitted for speeds over 160km/h (BR 110 vmax = 140km/h - BR 111 = 160km/h), so it isn't necessary.
thanks for clarifying well, first I did a nice blind run (aka running a new loco I dont know and seeing how I do) on Koln Aachen, did pretty well, thx to experience with BR103 I realized quickly I have to make a run to the other cab to turn on safety systems gold, as usual then I checked the route with BR101, awesome, awesome... too bad BR182 is freight only, but I am confident we get a proper Taurus layering once Semmeringbahn is out and then I did a quick run with BR111 again... aaand, I kind of dig it... since AFB is missing, it is more challenging, but then, it having pretty much two ways to drive - tap up/down or using power, or both it is refreshing might even do a custom livery once I have some time on my hands
So I think I'll come back to the thread to give my final conclusion about the BR 111 for TSW 4. I'm still of the opinion that it's just a really cool locomotive and it's really well implemented on TSW, I just have to say it. I've also practiced driving now and you just have to learn a little bit about how the locomotive exactly works and what it has to offer so that you can drive it perfectly. But the only two things that bothers me a bit is what I wrote in my last message because of the power lever, where the first notch is shifted up too much quickly even though in reality about a second has passed if you leave the power lever in "Run Up" till the first notch is shifted. The other thing is with the traction cooling fans of the locomotive. I noticed that if you start driving at a standstill, the fans switch on at Tap Level 8 or 9, which is correct, but then the fans should stay on the whole time (also in automatic mode) while driving until you stop again or switch off the fans manually over the switch in the cab. But in this case the cooling fans in the game switch off if you have tap levels less than 8/9 which is actually not correct (because the locomotive probably heats up faster if the traction motor fans turn off while driving, which is why they should stay on all the time, but that's my own guess.) As I said, the fans can only switch off when you are standing still, i.e. if you have automatic mode on or switch it off manually. Those were the points that bothered me a bit about the BR 111 from TSW 4. Otherwise, I can always say that this locomotive was implemented very good for DTG conditions. A rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from me!
one more question - I have noticed that when selecting BR111 in timetable mode in Rosenheim Salzburg, there are three versions showing, for some reason... the third has services from Salzburg, and when I tried that one, it turned out it is in reality the Dosto control cab... and first and second seem to be the same thing? dunno... is this some weirdness, a bug or what? I am kind of confused
ok so not countÃing the third which is obviously a tiny little tiniest buggishes (imagine read with Gollum voice) the first two - are there any real differences?
No idea. I think one is used for moves where they transfer empty coaches and the other one is the regular one.
