I see, thanks for the info - that's good then, hopefully they can be added to the MML route at certain locations (they may already be but I haven't seen any yet!).
On the class 158, the sliding doors don't close, you have to do it manually. That is a problem because in real life they should be able to close as they are operated by a button. I do hope it gets fixed as it's annoying in particular for the train. I do hope that it gets fixed. It also annoying because if you are in a rush, you can't be bothered to close them, so having the sliding doors closing would make it better. Another point to mention, AI's cab door is open, it should be because whilst the 158 is in operation, it should be close, (This is both ends). And finally, another person mentioned about an AI guard. I would love to see that as it is important to note that their are human guards on the 158, so having the human figure on the 158 would be a good addition to the route. And also to mention, there isn't AI portals at either Nottingham or Derby so it destroys the bit of realism. The sheffield services end up terminating at Derby which shouldn't happen as AI should take them off the Map. And finally, once a service is completed, AI never turns its tail lights when at standstill. The only AI portals are at Leicester.
I find this silly when passengers stand still in platforms... since rush hour in tsw2! Even the new BPO is same LOVE over and over. It's the passenger system they ignore since tsw2 Go figure
I do agree with you, the doors should close automatically. However that being said I've been on hundreds of 158s over the decades with all their operators and for whatever reason the doors have been left open (I assume the Guard can do it somehow to make it quicker for passengers to leave and board the train)
On the class 158s PIS it may say derby and on the standard station PIS it says sheffield, on the timetable, it says Sheffield, but on the PIS it says Derby. I love it to get fixed as it would be better for the route with the accuracy of the service and also, I would love to see more AI portals especially at Derby and Nottingham as pretty much, the trains terminate there but what AI is meant to do is take it off the map to Sheffield, but at the moment, they are going to Derby. This applies to the HST as well.
Morning, We hope to start talking about the latest round of improvements to the MML experience soon. These are expected to be provided in support of the release of Cargo Line Vol.2 Aggregates. I have investigated several avenues regarding the PIS on the trains not displaying the correct destination, but this work is not yet finished so I cannot confirm a fix yet. With regard to the portals discussion, all tracks leading off the represented route feature the portal functionality, and to my knowledge all trains that should prototypically continue 'off world' in the timetable, do so. Bear in mind that there are a lot of trains that do prototypically terminate at Nottingham and Leicester and so this is the intended reversal point. Do you have an example of a train that should head 'off world' but in fact does not?
Some HST's that are meant to go to Sheffield end up terminating at Derby. Usually as you complete a service, the AI should take over it straight away, but this isn't the case. Also to mention, when the HST's at Nottingham terminate their, the AI driver never turns on the Tail lights which is annonying as I have to quickly run to the opposite cab in order to turn them on.
Their is also on the route white patches which almost look like frost, I don't think they should be there.
Hiya, If you can let me know which HSTs are not continuing onto the portals that would be great. The timetable has been reviewed to match the 2018 times for East Midlands Trains, and to my knowledge they all do what they are supposed to. Cheers
I've noticed that the HSTs at Nottingham don't have their tail lights, the AI driver has forgot to turn them on. Could you put that on the updates with the vol 2 as usually when a train terminates, they are suppose to put their tail lights on?
The 10:09 service that arrives from Newark Castle into Derby, when the driver shuts down, they don't turn on the tail lights, could this be sorted?
Also to mention, I just tried the gangway of the HST and you had to open and close the doors in order to get through which it isn't suppose to do
Here is the issue that AI has especially when shutting down, Skyhook, could you sort this as this picture was taken at Nottingham.
Has the front of the HST rendered incorrectly? Particularly the headlights seem like glass triangles covering it.
maybe a dumb question, but this thread is quite extensive - what is the state of the route now? I wont look at Steam reviews as they are mostly s..., usually a mix of pettiness and review bombing cos of hurt feelings ... I need real feedback... is it worth playing now after (assuming) some patching?
its a good route with mods i say this because i dont like diesel ony routes xD worth for a extension 4 sure
We actually have a fix for this as part of the next update. The reduction in detail as the train gets further way was rather aggressive so we have resolved this.
Could the tail light issue where AI don't turn on their tail lights when they have finished a service be part of the update?, it would create a sense of realism
Hiya, There are no formations in the MML timetable that at least start out as 4car. They are all 2car formations. Regards
The needles on the gauges on the HST aren't illuminated, making it impossible to read the gauges without cab light.
Yes, thank you Adam and the rest of Skyhook for demonstrating how to address criticism. I look forward to Cargo Line 2 now
There are some other sneaks of the Mountsorrel upgrade at the bottom of my MML flickr gallery https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjB5gVW
I do hope that the tail light issue with the ai trains not turning them on at the end of the service will be one coming soon
Just bought it today, it is nice to see the continuous improvements being made to the route Some bugs I have found with the EMT Class 43: The front coupler hatch can't be opened The individual units do not appear in formation designer The front Buckeye coupler model does not appear (for example when the formation is put with another train with a Buckeye coupler in formation designer) The front hook coupler model does not appear (not sure if it is supposed to have one)
The HST power car does not have a normal coupling behind that hatch, buckeye or otherwise. It has a position to attach an "emergency coupling", which takes a fair amount of time to set up. There is a modified version of the power car, resulting from the IC225 project's initial lack of a Mk4 DVT vehicle, which has a normal locomotive-type buffer beam attached. This type has only a three-link coupling, not a buckeye. These power cars were also early candidates for re-engining, initially with the VP185. Most of these power cars are now incorporated into Network Rail's engineering trains.
Hi, I really enjoy this route which has some lovely rolling stock, good scenery, and is now pretty bug-free ! I have some things to report, maybe for a future update ? - When in the Class 158 cab, the passing HST sounds are the same level when the side window is opened or closed. For example at the beginning of the 2K29 service, you hear the HST coming from afar, louder than with the external camera. Hence it seems that a fully closed Class 158 cab do not reduce all external sounds. Or maybe it's the other way round, and the HST sounds are the cause ? - It is somewhat difficult to be on-time with the Class 158 since the introduction of the guard function which takes some time to close all the doors. While I appreciate this feature, which I would love to see on other routes, here it makes driving more of a rush. Even the AI 158 seem to take off directly on notch 7 ? - The points are missing at the end of this Nottingham platform :
Hiya, Thanks for the continued feedback. Here is what I know of the things noted in the past 24 hours. AI taillight functionality - This is new to our radar, so will not be in the next update to MML. Formation Designer - This is something we are working with DTG to resolve. It is not clear what is required to enable this functionality. HST Nose Coupling - This is not something that has been on our radar. If there are issues with its functionality, we will need to investigate if it is even in scope of what is provided with MML. Audio - Audio is not something we are currently working on. Class 158 Guard Function - The time taken by the guard has been reduced to improve the station stopping experience when driving the Class 158. Missing point work - We've tried to address this on numerous occasions and been unable to resolve it even with help from DTG. It is purely a visual thing, the track works fine. We're likely going to have to live with this. Updated timetable - Yes, the timetable has seen a significant overhaul to improve the accuracy of station stop timings as well as provide a brief moment for train setup before commencing a service.
