As said above its about depth and the ability to replay it in multiple forms. London Commuter has it in spades. SEHS has it in spades. A lot of the German routes have it - Koln, Munich, Dresden and all the layers on top.

I'm not saying DTG don't put effort in but couldn't they maximise this line by adding in a few other lines? a few more pieces of traffic?

Heck I think people would pay 35 if it came with multiple units, multiple branches and good quality scenery.

For those hesitating about getting this route today, I recommend you to go for it. l have had three hours of thoroughly good enjoyment driving it, finding the collectables and the route is well designed and looking really good. I don’t know it so cannot compare for accuracy but it both feels and looks right.

Get it today, you will love it and well worth the money paid. Well done and congratulations to DTG.

Just had a drive and I really enjoy the route. The level of detail is incredible. And the 710/2 looks and sounds really well. Only slight bug I have found so far is passing AI 710s have no drivers in the cab.

I’ve just done a back and forth run, and I will say I’m very impressed! I understand that the long term playability may seem to be “repetitive” but isn’t that kind of reality? I’m a new poster (1st post!) but I’m always a little surprised with that backlash. I mean, daily operators I assume in real life run the same route with same results daily!!

with that said, I was super impressed as I took a service for the first time towards Barking at 7AM~ and the lighting on the tracks and in front was impressive (first impression which is important). I’m not sure about all the arguments over every single little detail, but as a “sim person” I just enjoy the fact that I’m able to enjoy this (and a lot of other routes) as we are a smaller community than many games, and yet we do have some beautiful options. I love the new route and look forward to whatever (and whenever) is coming next!!

The scenarios for the route are well thought out and fun, especially Halloween in the fog!!

How have people found this semi-interlock thing that I think Indege mentioned? The need to reopen doors and then close before leaving. Is that ‘working’ as the forum thought it might, and causing problems with timing?

In terms of route length and operation it seems to be a kind of Southeastern Glossop. Scenery looks exceptionally good but I just can’t tally the route length with the current price tag. I would say £20 / €25 max.

As I've said on the main feedback thread, I'm really happy with this route. The detail is fantastic and it's clear to see the work that has gone into it, so I don't personally have a complaint about the price. I don't mind paying when some effort has been put in. Comparing this to Maintalbahn at the same price, they are worlds apart in quality.

Haven't experienced the door issue, probably because I was running very slightly late due to sight seeing, so it always asked me to lock the doors before they got to close automatically.

I have experienced a couple of passenger issues. Not as many as I was seeing on Ambassador streams yesterday though. It's a bit annoying, but doesn't take too much away from a very good route.

I think the release of the Blackpool route last November by JT, has made DTG up their game.
This route is certainly a massive step up in quality from most of their previous routes (UK).
I have no trouble in recommending this route for anybody interested.
    Mike. :D

Glad to hear people like the route, hopefully DTG will develop more inner city routes after the success of this one, as I have said before it is not always about length but about quality, if the quality is right I think people will buy and be satisfied though a longer route is always better but only if it is done right.

No issues with crashing. The major issue I’m having is that the performance of the route with no mods of any description in the DLC folder, no ini changes and an entirely stock route is the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s borderline unplayable.

No, that would be hitching but with a largely stable fps. Ordinarily, even with mods and demanding ini changes my GPU usage is 50-75% and fps a solid 60. On this route (with everything stripped out to be sure nothing else is causing it) my GPU usage is pegged at 100% and the fps is in the 40’s 60-70% of the time, occasionally dropping into the 30’s. I’ve never seen this before, and it’s only on this route.

I know I’m not the only one seeing this and I suspect I know what’s causing it. Once GodMode is updated I hope I can sort it out.

exactly I do find it funny all the ones who were complaining about this up until release have all gone quiet very quickly. If someone is happy with a route and a DLC good for them they are entitled to enjoy it and speak freely about it as well. Sadly as I have noticed in these forums it is a very small minority and group who seem to go around causing trouble and like to voice an opinion above everyone else and attack those who correct them.

Just to re-iterate some of the feedback already posted, that this route is amazingly well detailed, and the sound mix is exceptionally well implemented.

route is great for anyone who enjoys commuter / EMU and am really happy to have another London / SouthEast route… hopefully clues in the intro about the unit being used on the Euston-Watford route are a clue to the WCML being a coming soon summer core route!! Or at least Barking gets some C2C route going out that way!

Had the doors close automatically a couple of times while I was soaking up the station detail and didn’t have any need to re-open and close the doors… all locked ok and good to go… was using the external camera and not on foot in case that makes a difference

It’s not true that you have to do that. If they close themselves it is just like if you have closed them and you just carry on. The only issue I can foresee happening is if you go to close the doors after they have automatically closed just like Matt was doing in the live stream. They will then open instead and you will have to close them again. If you are paying attention then it shouldn’t occur.

As I said, no mods. An entirely stock game.

Not sure really the point of your post, other than perhaps to try and illicit a reaction.

Yes, I were just adding my perspective/hypothesis as to what has happened to silence some as I would assume it were aimed at people who had the same viewpoint (and so likely haven't brought it) as me but presented their view in a different way to me. Don't worry mate!

Not to illicit a reaction but the problems people are having appear to be on PC where you can have all these mods installed and altered files. Consoles like myself on PS5 and others on Xbox have no such problems. And we cant install mods.

Same here. Watching the feedback with interest but maintaining my stance that the nature of the route vs. price and now what appear to be serious performance/crashing issues for some users vindicate the decision to sit this one out.

Works just fine on a console. Perhaps we should critique all of the problems with your PC builds/setups? ;-)

As much as I am enjoying watching the console users blast us, can we tone it down a bit? I don't want this thread to be locked.

Personally, I haven't got the route, but would 100% get it if I could. Can someone tell me if the PIS on the North London Line platforms at Gospel Oak work please?

Can someone also tell me if the 710's power/brake handle is prototypical or not? I've never seen a continuous power range paired with a 3-step brake before!

I don't think that's true. For me, I'm still somewhat stunned at some of the mean-spirited rhetoric that gets expressed over and over and over and over....... you get the idea....... again. Sure, nothing is ever perfect and, yes, there are various issues, but this is a game and it's hopefully about people enjoying playing it and sharing their experiences. People should of course also feel free to share their negative feedback - once each is probably enough to begin with - but then please don't denigrate those of us who are actually trying to go beyond the nitpicking and experience it for what it is.

PS I'm not aiming this at you personally, I'm making a general point.

(I think any further discussion on this should move to Enough is Enough because it's not fair on everyone else in this thread.)

That's fair. All I was trying to say - perhaps not as constructively as I should have - is that the route doesn't seem to be fundamentally bugged for console players (barring some texturing issues on PS4/5) and, given that the codebase is essentially the same, it's more likely, but not necessarily definite by any means, that PC setups could be an issue. I moved to console because I was fed up with nursing PCs over decades, so I think I'm still having flashbacks! :) I am sorry that some people are having difficulties on their rigs because it really is a nice route.

I’m sure this is already mentioned, but am I the only one slightly disappointed with a limited functionality on the screens? Have buttons almost all of them don’t work it seems a bit pointless

It’s not the first time a PBC like this has been used, although it’s swapped in other trains like the Class 395.

In the is video at 34:00 you can kinda see this class 345 driver pull back through notches if you look closely

No issues so far.... A little in the end at Barking -> Barking Riverside but thats related to the textures that have to load for the first time... Here is a video made by me with the trainingcenter engine.ini settings from youre mod....

Can I ask what GPU you have and what resolution, screen percentage etc you’re running? I presume Ultra game settings too? That same point on the route, entirely stock, I was barely getting 40fps with my 3090 pegged at 100% usage. I don’t get it.

Any other route I try is fine.

I have a RTX4070TI 170% All ultra except the sky on Very High.
    My complete system is:
    AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
    Nvidia RTX4070TI
2 SSD and 1 NVMe for Windows
    2x16GB Corsair 32 GB DDR4-3600
    1440p Monitor
I have a FPS counter included in the video.
It is correct that this route is heavy at some points but i have decent framerates between 35 and 55 in average with no big deals. The video is a little stuttering but thats in the video i have this GPU now a few days so i'm searching for the best OBS settings atm.

I watched the preview decided It personally wasn't for me for previously discussed reasons. There's no point in carrying on posting those opinions like others have said because we haven't bought the route. But Im watching and reading the feedback with some interest.

Many of us are vocal about things we don't like in discussion threads which is the point of discussion threads and DTG do encourage discussion. I'm glad people are enjoying the route as I stated previously. :) Just for myself and others its not something we were interested in and we voiced the reasons why earlier. Its not that we're trying to shut people down or anything like that :) As you say everyone is allowed to like what they like and equally everyone is allowed to dislike what they dislike :)

So sometimes I accidentally put the reverser into secure on the class 710 how do you get it to move again as when I put it back to forward it doesn't move?

Ive also seen reports of console players experiencing crashes on this route, so it's not only restricted to pc. Consoles also have their own set of unique problems compared to pc players.

I got the route. I must say, I do enjoy the route. The scenery is nice and the stations are well modeled. Sounds are fine as well. But I do get why people had criticisms of the route itself. I don't think it's appropriate to call people [EDIT - Jan Language] for criticizing certain aspects of the route.

Also people do have a life outside these forums so it is hardly surprising that people won't be here. Not to mention there are those that may have decided not to buy a route so they may not feel to comment on a route that they are not interested in

I tested this out, it seems with any emergency brake application you need to move the reverser to forward, apply full brakes and press Q to acknowledge the AWS/Vigilance Pedal, then depending on if the emergency stop was done by you or the safety systems wait up to 30 seconds, then move the throttle to coast, then back to Brake 3 while checking on the left information screen that the throttle is responding, then you can apply traction power.

I wasn’t calling anyone a [EDIT - Jan Language], it’s an English aphorism! My point was more general anyway, it was about it being ok for people to say that they enjoy something without others resorting to calling them ‘fanboys’, which is much more insulting, not least to their intelligence.

I have found you don't normally have enough time at stations for it to be an issue, most of the time it is time to leave before the doors have closed by themselves. At the start stations I tend to wait until 40 seconds before departure to release them and that does the job too :)
