As the title says... How does a scenario know which route it is made for? I am not a route builder or a scenario creator but I do install a lot of scenarios and spend a lot of time in TS-Tools, more so LocoSwap these days. BUt this week I installed a group scenarios which were made for the ECML London-Peterbro' route though I initially didn't realised that I'd accidentally dropped them into ECML York-Peterbro'. Nevertheless, the scenarios show up in TSC in the correct menu section and they run as intended. I've looked at the scenario bin files and xml files but I see no reference to the route that they run on. I'd expected to find... 00000029-0000-0000-0000-000000002014 somewhere in the scenario code but its not there.
I created a simple scenario on ECML London - Peterborough of a 365 going one stop Stevenage to Knebworth and the scenario ran as expected so I came out of the game and moved the scenario to the Marseille - Avignon route. The Scenario does show up in that route but does not drive Are those scenarios for ECML London to Peterborough actually in the York - Peterborough route?
Yes, you are correct. I've figured out what was going on. I manually placed the scenarios in York-Peterbro' by mistake yet they still worked. Simple reason - they were also already in the London-Peterbro' folder! Or to be more precise, I hadn't realised that they are inside an .ap file ECMLSLNERHSTPack01Scenarios.ap. Maybe its a case of too many Peters. If only someone called Peter could have replied to me!!!! I shall now peter out. Thanks Peter H
It doesn't. It will try to run on the route whose folder it sits in. That's why you can play Seebergbahn scenarios on the [WS] Seebergbahn route, which for TSC is a different route. So people uploading scenarios - pack your stuff including the "Content" path and don't let users try to figure out themselves in which route folder to put it
