Let's try this unique scenario again, after quite a few re-tries but I finally managed to complete it without failure!! A gloomy day of 1943 sees Southern Railway Q1 Class 'C18' departing from the sidings of Radstock in a hurry after air raid sirens fire into life and anti-aircraft shells explode overhead and 'C18' proceeds to the nearby sidings at Braysdown to pick up eight BL 12-inch howitzers that must be quickly transported to Bath; about 10 miles away, to assist with the British war effort. A brake wagon has been provided in the middle of the consist to assist with the transportation of heavy weaponry. However; a sudden surprise attack on the train happens from above as a German dive bomber strikes the rear artillery gun causing smoke to soon plume from the damaged weapon becoming an active explosive hazard. The train rushes as fast as possible to the nearest siding at Midford to quickly dispose of the dangerous weapon and luckily succeeds in doing so and continues without issue to the industrial sidings of Bath. Loco: Southern Railway Q1 Class Route: Somerset & Dorset Railway This scenario is very interesting; first of all there are actually air raid sirens and anti-aircraft shell explosions in the beginning at Radstock. However due to the angle of the explosions in the sky screenshot opportunity wasn't that great. Second of all the scripted event where an actual Ju-87 Stuka dives on the train and flies by in a cutscene sort of event resulting in smoke coming from the rear artillery gun. This is where the hard part begins; you have to drop the rear gun off at the siding at Midford with a time limit of 6 and a half minutes to do so according to what a message box tells you after the train is struck. A few times I was too slow at doing this and failed the scenario. It sounds simple enough but can be tricky traversing the steep gradients of this route with a very heavy train behind you... led by a steam locomotive no less! But I eventually got it and successfully completed the scenario coming to my final stop at Bath. Never experienced a scenario quite like this one; I feel many scenarios lack this sort of originality and uniqueness. Don't get me wrong, a simple drive is nice but it's good to have something totally unexpected that takes you off guard sometimes and even challenges your driving skills every now and then! This is probably the only scenario I've played that actually deserves that maximum 5 bar difficulty rating. I wonder if this scenario is directly inspired by some actual real life events where moving Southern Railway British steam trains were attacked directly by German aircraft!
Set 5 of a multipart chronological depiction of a mid-summer stopping passenger service QD, from Carlisle to Settle, on DTG Settle to Carlisle route. Primary motivation for the run was to check out the then recently installed AP Veggie Pack. It also came to me that I've never featured Donington's Midland Rwy reskin for CW's GERT26 2-4-0 tendered steam locomotive. According to Rail Map Online, Settle to Carlisle was, in pre-grouping days, part of MidRwy. That, plus an absence of bona fide MR steam locos in my roundhouse, makes the reskin a logical choice. A PR Firm has hired a special train to transport VIPs to a company launch party taking place at Finnentrop to drum up some publicity for the new company. DB Class V 200 '220 043-3' is in charge of the special train departing from Siegen Hbf with two Avmz and five Bimz coaches behind just before 10am forming a train of 7 coaches in total. The train will be stopping at Kreuztal and Lennestadt-Altenhundem before reaching it's final stop at Finnentrop after a 44 kilometre journey on the Ruhr-Sieg line. Locos: DB Class V 200, DB Class 294 Route: Ruhr-Sieg Scenario: Launch Party Unfortunately the headlights on this locomotive weren't working however the red tail lights on the locomotive were operational. Couldn't figure out how to turn on the headlights unfortunately if there even was a way in the first place. Probably caused by a bug due to the age of this loco model. Still a nice drive though.
Several old models are broken like that. The S-C 158 is a similar example. Maybe Spikee1975 has an idea. Very nice shots btw. I'm tempted to save them! Despite my collection being mine... must.... resist..... Would be an easy cheat, this subject awaits documentation on my end. Btw, if you have the E18 pack, I recommend running this with its matching UIC-X coaches. Aside the E18 you may recall them from a 151 run.

Wow thank you very much! Unfortunately I don’t have the E18; might not be getting it anytime soon either as it’s not really something on my Wishlist at the moment but that could change. Thanks for your excellent help as usual!!

Just a note - all of the locos pictured (and I do like to see them) are ex DR rebuilds (known as REKO Loks) not and never were DB. DB computer numbered locos had 3 digits (class) 3 digits (engine no.) - 1 digit (check digit). DR (had to be different) had 2 digits (class) 4 digits (engine no.) - 1 digit (check digit). It was much to my annoyance that when DTG launched Wutachtalbahn they announced it with a DB class 86, so I bought it to find it was the same ex DR class 86 that I already had. The DB one should have been a 086 not an 86, I complained to no avail but haven't been "gulled" since. The REKO loks have that distinctive feedwater heater on the top of the smokebox in front of the chimney, no DB lok ever had such.

Having belonged to LNWR in pre-grouping days, I power the train with a favorite steam-era loco, Caledonia Works' LNWR "Greater Britain", No.3435 "Queen Empress" to be exact, seen in Lilac & Cream livery. Though Greater Britain looks to be a conventional 2-4-2 tendered locomotive, it is in actuality a 2-2-2-2 compound loco. It pulls four LNWR coaches, the last of them an observation coach, which I fail to get a decent capture of. On display are AP's Vegetation, Weather, and Clouds Packs, as well as RW Enhancer 2. FYI The "Jones Goods" was used for specials in the early 1960s as were the the other preserved pre-grouping engines as a last fling before being incarcerated in Museums where they now remain. Our journey begins there, stopping at all stations until the run terminates at Exeter. I considered using an official standard scenario for this first complete run on the extended route, but didn't want the hassle of keeping to a possibly tight timetable that might impede screenshot capture.
