In this situation you are approaching an 80kmh speed limit.

Before you reach the new limit, there is a warning (number 8 in a yellow triangle). You pass this sign between 0:23 and 0:25.

When passing the yellow speed limit warning triangles, if the new speed limit is below 90kmh (or 100kmh in the German rulebook) then you must acknowledge it. Since you did not do this, the emergency brakes were applied.

I must say, though, having a video was very helpful. It is not very often that we get videos along with requests for help. While I appreciate that not everyone has the capability of recording the previous 60 seconds of gameplay, the extra effort really does help us help you!

Hello! Thanks for the quick answer! Since I’m new to PZB and more realistic train simming this helped me a lot! Thanks for the throughout and detailed answer, really appreciate it. Have a nice week

Something similar has been happening to me. I posted about it in this forum at https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/br185-2-pick-up-scenario.79990/.

I was expecting that I needed to asknowledge only things that appeared on the HUD, or on the train screen in yellow, like the messages of the 1000Hz magnet. As I see in this case there is no info displayed on the HUD or in the screen.

Simple tip..... Read the signs and not look at the HUD for the PZB.... The signs are before the real speed change..... So yellow 80 -> Acknowledge -> reduce you're speed -> white sign with the required track speed so 80km is VMAX from here.

Stuff in yellow on train screens only appears after you have acknowledged something, so you’ll only get penalty brake applications watching out for something to appear on the screen.

As Xander1986 said, there’s no real way around just learning PZB. I’ve seen the case on the forums before where someone relied entirely on the HUD helpers for PZB but that didn’t work out so great.

That actually explains my troubles with the PZB when operating the BR185.2! I had this problem only a couple of times so I was unable to understand why, all of a sudden I was getting the emergency break. I guess I though I figured out how it worked, yet I have more to learn.
