Hey guys. I’d like to share a few visuals improvements I’ve made to the Fife Circle line, as well as a few other things: - Fictional branding replaced with real world branding - New station lighting visuals - New house asset visuals - New ballast visuals - New Class 170 PIS visuals - Replacement of onboard and station announcements This is all work in progress and more things are to come. There is currently no ETA for release date, however stay tuned I’ve also been working on a few things in the public editor, however I’m not yet ready to share this. Please note this is a PC ONLY MOD, which will not be available on consoles.
Yeah, me for example. And not for the first time either. He delivered amazing mods for other routes as well. But what really never ceases to surprise me is the response time in which those mods are delivered. The route is barely released and the WIP looks already promising!
It shouldn't have to be up to the community to fix such a mess. DTG needs to give Rivet a stern talking to. Great work nonetheless LM!
Totally agree with you on this, but thank the Lord, we have people like LM who are willing to right the wrong done by the builders of these dlcs. This will encourage me to purchase this route once it goes on sale.
Wow that looks extremely impressive. Congratulations and well done. Iondonmidland l don’t know whether you are an experienced designer, but wondered if you could look at the recent thread “Definition Of Laziness: Rivet”, and comment regarding the question on my post of fifteen minutes ago within that thread please, concerning building design, if you can.
Why the laughing face, are you making fun of us? In the other thread people are insulting those who buy the DLC and claim they’re destroying the “unity” of the community. And here PC players are making fun of console users? You can’t make this up… More importantly, regarding the mod itself: Great job as always! Always nice to see what’s possible in such a short amount of time.
Well it's everyone's free choice what system they prefer. Consoles are enclosed and manufacturer-gated systems by design. Thank you londonmidland , good reason to keep this route!
Not having a go Sharon, so this isn't aimed at you personally, but hear in lies the problem. The originator has put out an inferior product to what it could and SHOULD have been. A Modder, has, in 24 hours completed items that THEY should have incorporated themselves in the week preceding sale. As you have highlighted, you will now buy the route because of what LM has done. The financial benefit of this goes back to Rivet, not to LM, so they get a sales boost as someone else has picked up mods. To this degree, it provides no incentive for the originator to do the job properly. Plus.....I'm a console owner, so none of the above is of benefit. Double whammy.
One ambititous user was all it took to make some stunning route enhancements done in the Editor in less than 24 hours (maybe even less than 12 hours once OP posted) after release. I know he's not finished and the mod is not ready to release but still... Apart from the fact that this is absolutely amazing, what does that say to us in regard to the actual sold version?
But many players will benefit from that, even if it's not you. And if Rivet also benefits, is not my business as a customer of entertainment software. So be it.
Think your missing the point about incentive for the originator to put out quality at the first step. No issue with modders or not having a PC. My issue is financial reward for producing substandard work off the back of other individuals improvements.
disco#7930. l like your comment “The originator has put out an inferior product to what it could and SHOULD have been”, although I agree partly with that, as l think they work very hard at their locomotives which in the whole l like but when you can design something as good as the Forth Bridge, l am absolutely amazed that all their routes so far, are to me classed as an inferior product to what it could and SHOULD have been, with WCL at the top of that list. The Forth Bridge if it was indeed designed by Rivet, then that shows to me that they have the talent, so l assume they just cannot be bothered to deliver and present us all with a first class route similar to Just Trains Blackpool Branches or the new DTG London Overground route!!!
Thanks for all the comments guys, really motivates me to do more Whether or not Rivet indirectly benefit from this mod, I really could not care less, whether it helps with their sales of the route etc. The sole purpose is for you PC players (sorry console players) and I to have a better experience of the route. The route is nowhere near the standard that it should be, so rather than just sit back and complain about it, I thought I’d try and start improving things myself. With me having limited tools, as well as being the only one working on this project, it isn’t going to be a quick od easy task. Things like poorly created terrain, dodgy looks hills or houses planted inside of the terrain I sadly cannot fix myself. However, I do hope to add things which are currently missing, which doesn’t come as a surprise as it’s currently quite a barren looking route in places. There’s no timescale or deadlines I have set myself. This is simply a let’s see how it progresses type of passion project. I will however keep posting updates on any changes and improvements I may make. Thanks again for the support
No I'm aware of that. But you may be surprised that all that counts for me is making the game to be as I want it. It is after all, just a piece of entertainment, and I don't care about "educating" companies any more. They offer something - take it or leave it. That higher "community" educating companies spirit concept is overblown. TSW is just a game. If I like something, I buy it, if not, I won't bother spending day after day complaining. Call it selfish, yeah I have the right to be selfish, but at the same time sharing mods is not selfish. If you would think that through it would mean modders are damaging the scene. Which is fairly ridiculous. It's not politics, it's entertainment industry. And I'm buying a game to have a good time - nothing more.
Well done londonmidland Thank you for picking up the ball up and rescuing this route. Take all the time you need mate, the end result will be well worth the wait
Honor to londonmidland Always amazing to see what one person can achieve with small resources, while Rivet remains silent and leaves everyone in the dark.
well done ! but I will still not buy it even its quality reach a acceptable level look at the respond of rivet: The Problem With Rivet Messages:119 https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/the-problem-with-rivet.79944/page-3#post-818235
Well done, always glad to see an enhancement pack for any route, but it's possible to make enhancement packs for PBD or Goblin if time permitted?
Don’t you think your comment is very antagonising towards console players? It’s not very helpful either.
No, not really. My game runs great on the PS5, and I encounter less problems than PC users do, going by the recent FCL bug reports. Of course when it comes to mods, console players are limited. There’s no need to say consoles are L though, maybe 8th gen are lacking behind now, but not 9th gen.
Learn how to take a joke. I too play on Xbox. I can't control how people feel about comments on the internet. It is not my intention to antagonize other console users
I believe fellow modders are planning to work on these routes so keep an eye out for their announcements.
Okay fair enough, but see from my point of view and others. It looks like you’re baiting people. You’ve already explained yourself though, so I know that wasn’t your intention.
Be interesting to see what you can salvage from this abomination of an effort by Rivet though as you say Rivet themselves would need to fix things like terrain, hills & houses etc. so I'm not holding out much hope for that. I'll take a look when you release the pack and the route itself is on sale for at least 50% off.
Appreciate all your efforts not just for this EP but all the mods you and others do. The sim is pretty awesome with the mods installed. Look forward to getting this when its released. Its a shame that Rivet could not do this in the first place however!
londonmidland , any chance of you getting in touch with rivet to try and help implement some of this?
Everything I’m doing for this route at this moment in time is unofficial and independent, in my own spare time. There’s no timescales or anything for when it’ll be released. Once Rivet have worked on their own patches and bug fixes, as well as when the route is looking a bit more polished, I may have that conversation with Rivet to use some of these visual improvements
