Here is my suggestion for a extension/remaster of the East Coastway route from TSW2020 to Ashford International via Hastings, a route known as the Marshlink Line and the line with the least used station in East Sussex. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Facts: Extension length: 26 miles (42.27km) Top line speed: 60mph (97km/h) Station count: 9 Station list (beyond Hampden Park): Hastings Ore Three Oaks Doleham Winchelsea Rye Appledore Ham Street Ashford International --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rolling stock: BR Class 171 SN 'Turbostar' Layers & AI: - Class 375, Class 395 AI at Ashford Intl. - Class 375 AI at Hastings - DRS 66 freight trains through the Marshlink Line ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Services: - 3tph between ASI & HAS, service length 1hr 20mins - DRS Freight trains to Dungeness Thanks for reading
The real life East Coastway route actually terminates at Ore (the last stop for services from Brighton). From Hastings to Ashford is a separate, albeit connected, route altogether. Extending to Ashford would mean the route is no longer named East Coastway.
The incomplete 'East Coastway' becoming the 'East Coastway & Marshlink Line' would be an amazing addition to the game.
Eastbourne to Ashford International would be 1 hour 20 mins Ore to Brighton would be 1 hour 16 mins They wouldn't be that much longer than doing London Commuter which can take around 1 hour and 2 minutes depending on the service you do. Not that long ago, people were wanting longer routes for TSW.
