So, with the new road map out and the new JT route in the 4-6 months catagory.

What do we hope/ think this will be?
I'd like to see an electrified route, at the turn of 1st gen into 2nd gen emus and with loco hauled traffic?
Something around the time of Anglia and the 309 and 312 classes.

My money is on either North Wales Coast or Settle & Carlisle, same era as the Blackpool Branches. New train a 156.

    A 156 would be nice.

I don't mind where it is or what stock is included, it's going to be top quality as that's JT for you.

The only hope I have is that they continue to do BR content for a few more releases, it's an era that's under represented in TSW. DTG now seem focused on doing the modern stuff, we need someone to fill the needs of us historical enthusiasts.

Diesel or Electric, as long as it's not modern. I'm happy!

It will be a challenge to keep up their standards they set with the last one, I wish them well in doing so, with those kinda standards any route they do will always get my attention.

I'm hoping for the WCML extension from Preston. Maybe with an 86/87?

1987ish Exeter - Plymouth and Paignton utilising nearly all the existing BR stock with the addition of a Class 50 (Large Logo and NSE) and modified Valenta HST (think they could be found in Blue/Executive/Swallow at this time) would be my preference.

As far as I'm aware, there's no actual evidence existing as to what it might be at the moment but I hope they build on their BR era success and I'm very much looking forward to it.

I suspect an extension is out of the question, but they might do a route involving Preston?

Could build up a (disjointed) network.

Crewe would be the obvious choice

Yes, I meant a different route that involves Preston.

Merseyrail network in the 80s would be nice to link up to BPO

Alternatively, WCML over Shap in the same era would bring in the 86, which would add more life to BPO as well around preston. Could perhaps be set a few years later and bring in a regional railways 156 too

TSG and Just Trains are the TSW developers where you just know everything they release will be nice. That’s why I was pretty excited to see so much content from them in the roadmap! I hope Just Trains pick an interesting route set in the past, maybe something electric?

Bristol to Exeter via W-s-Mare. One of the first JT routes in TS and a classic.
Temple Meads in TSW would be fantastic.

Something involving the Class 60 or the Class 153 would be my guess, especially as JT brought both to TSC many years ago and they could do the same for TSW. Something like Scunthorpe to Immingham and the Barton Line in the 1990's.

Equally the Riviera Line with a Class 50 and WCML Over Shap with a Class 87 would be most welcome.

Or it could be something like Lancaster to Morecambe/Heysham and also down to Oxenholme and Windermere.
Though Lancaster to Barrow would be kind of nice and fit well with the end of classic BR Blue era.

Certainly a section where the 142 operated. Do you remember the stops already present on JT's Pacers...

Indeed. Though the local lines would be an ideal opportunity to bring in a Class 108 Derby DMU.

Definitely JT will bring a new unit, if they creates something again in the BR era.
I also suspect that it could be a DMU or EMU.

Preston to Liverpool/Manchester is my guess based on absolutely nothing other than seems a waste to not reuse Preston.

Outside Preston station is a car with the number ‘LMC 1989’ or something like that. Possible hint?

Intriguing. L could be Leeds, then MC could be Maryport and Carlisle. Or it could be Lancaster to Morecambe though that wouldn’t be much on its own.

Leeds to Morecambe via Wennington maybe?

WCML late 80's early 90's would be great, Settle and Carlisle or maybe South Wales.

At least with JT we can expect another excellent route regardless of the location at least.

I believe this is an old DTG model, there are many number plates representing their vintage UK routes. LMC 1989 stands for Leeds Manchester 1989 -> Northern-Transpennine

I think that now they’ve cut their teeth, they’ll go for something more mainline & less ‘branch’. My bet will go on something in the Midlands or around Manchester.

The question will be do they stick to the same era and use their pacer, or go forward in time - one thing I’m pretty sure of is they’ll go for a route they can make good use of at least 1 existing piece of rolling stock.

I'm going to speculate on them using the Pacer, but on a more modern route rather than an older route.

Oh well sorry about that, I didn’t remember the exact year. But I’m pretty sure I’ve seen these number plates around often and they even used a picture of one to tease a route like half a decade ago. So it’s probably not a Just Trains teaser unless they added a new number plate!

I agree with you. Those are standard vehicles. Introduced with NTP and TVL in TSW/TSW2020, if I remember correctly. The old yellow, British Rail Transit and Leyland-Morris were also already present, but without official branding.
I also think they could use Pacers in a more recent era. For example, the old Northern era, since the license is already available (the old purple and blue Pacers, so to speak).

Maybe Hope valley, can reuse existing stock, with many service variations

As long as it isn't set in the modern South East, with an EMU, I'll be happy. I trust JT to deliver something interesting and different though, so thinking backdated and including the pacer.

To be honest, every suggestion on here is great and I'll be happy if any of them become true!

I personally however would love to see a modern day, DMU route.. like North Wales Coast Mainline with a modernised 150, the 175 and maybe a WAG set (either from launch or as a later add-on) because I don't feel as though we have enough modern diesel routes, but we definitely don't have enough old diesel and/or electric routes either... Whatever it is, with JT making it it'll definitely be good, so I look forward to whatever it'll be! :)

Could be Calder valley rail line set roughly in between ntp and BPO to form a network. 1984 would be the best year for it to be set in as you get a mix of trains from both the late and early 80s.

I would love JT to be the ones to do North Welsh coast because it'd be done with love and care!

But honestly anything by JT after BPO is honestly a welcome pleasure to the game!

Considering Blackpool Branches has spectacular textures, stations and lineside/medium-distance scenery, I’d also love to see JT have a go at a London Underground line. Imagine a line set a few decades ago with all the retro branding recreated, that would be incredible!

WCMLOS in the 80s? Loco hauled stock and maybe an APT, I mean Preston is already in the game and there’s only an odd 3 stops between Preston and Carlisle ? It’s 91 miles though

Ayrshire & Inverclyde Line mega route hopefully! Make good use of the class 380 and allows them to do a class 320 if they wish that can layer onto cathcart as well!

It has now moved to Release date to be confirmed which could be months away. JT take their time to make things good and accurate unlike DTG.

According to Alex in the stream, the timeline hasn’t suddenly changed, JT just don’t want to settle on a firm release timeframe just yet. But if everything goes smoothly there’s still a good chance we’ll see it within the next six months I suppose.

JustTrains / JustFlight can afford to take their time I guess, with their large portfolio of train and flight sim addons to make a living. They're not tied to a parent company that still struggles (and Focus/Pullup shares have not recovered but are going down further, it might be Focus is now worth less than DTG/RSC alone when they bought them ;) )

    That would be absolutely awesome!!!

Wonder when we will be hearing about the ATS route though, it's been a while since I've heard any mention of them.

    I'm thinking WCML related routes.
    Either:
-modern day London Euston - Rugby
    -80s Crewe to Preston
    -80s Preston to Carlisle

I commented on his latest YouTube video last week about when we can expect to hear about his TSW project. His response was:

“As soon as DTG allow us. It’s a whole new skill set so we don’t want to rush anything”.

I’m really curious too as to what he is working on. It won’t disappoint. Also here’s the vid where he wrote back to my comment just in case it seems like I made this up lol.
