Are there any services which run either part (the curvy hillside pass or the racetrack) only? - So if we don't like going through the hills, we still have services for the racetrack and vice versa.

Did you created new assets (f.e. the viaducts, tunnel portals, buildings etc.)?

Are the new passenger improvements mentioned in the April roadmap article implemented?

    Passenger announcements?

Question I'm sure many will ask. Why are you short changing us on the rolling stock? When you whiteboard these projects, surely you should be including time and resources to do all the vehicles that would appear in the consist, not just second class cars.

Other than standard TSW features such as walkaround and timetable, how is spending £30 on this going to improve my experience of the version I already own in TSC? Sell it to me!

Will there be 10+ trains meeting up at the same time for transfers in Wiener Neustadt as in reality? With multiple trains at one platform?

A lot of people will ask as Vern has said too. why do we not get the extra effort for a first class or any of the other coaches. only the second class has been added. People have also been asking where are new freight wagons, where are the extra loco dlc's. why are timetables so spartan. Timetables is one of TSW's biggest USP. If the plan is to actually get players to experience the routes and services. Why is the preservation crew dropped and has the focus shifted to one new loco per route with no extra dlc. I am genuinely interested how a route gets chosen and how after research the team goes about choosing what rolling stock will be made and what will be left out and why.

Apart from that I am also wondering in the layers, AI and playable and how busy will Wiener Neustadt be.

Indeed, not just only one new loco, but only one new coach. Are you, DTG, so on your knees for 3D modelling and artistic staff this is literally your limit when it comes to these projects?

    1. Are there neutral sections?
    2. Do the screens have any sort of functionality similar to the Vectron?

Is the incomplete consist going to be the standard for upcoming routes so that later on you can release the complete version separately under the "expert" line?

    • Does the Taurus have the energy counter that was first introduced with the Vectron and will be part of the 101-Expert DLC?
    • Are the sounds of the Taurus new recordings?
    • Is it possible that a future update puts new IC-Services with the Taurus on Vorarlberg?
    • Does the route already have the "layer" for a hypothetical railjet DLC?
    • Speaking of Railjet - did DTG hear the feedback that people want a railjet? How challenging would that DLC be?
    • Also already mentioned above: Why is there only a second class coach?
    • How likely would some new liveries for the 1116 be? There are tons of taurus liveries!

    Why are railjet services included?

Why couldn't the first class coaches be created for this route??

I'd like to repeat the question as to why only a Bmz. Is it a cost-cutting measure? A lack of time? (in which case why not delay?) Lack of understanding? (The descriptions make it sound like "Bmz coaches" are the class of coach, not a type within a class, which they are). It will make the IC trains feel very incomplete - TSW is supposed to be immersive and detailed - and it achieves this in a lot of ways - but train consists and interiors don't feel like the right places to fall short.

Dtg do have plans to update vorarlberg with new services as per roadmap. They also mentioned in the past that they were able to get new reference material. It already sounds different from the previous 182s.

How (edit: *what *facepalm*) does the mountain scenery Look like on Series X?
Why are no preview streams on console anymore?
Are there any plans to enhance the current limited variety of rolling stock?

A bit irrelevant but any plans to upgrade the old 182s (not the DispoLok) with the same sounds and physics as the 1116 we’ll have ?

Will you be adding OBB liveries to existing rolling stock (e.g. freight wagons) that are used on the route?
Will you also be allowing access to the freight sidings that run alongside the line near Murzzuschlag to the local industries?
will there be follow-up packs to cover the rest of the passenger stock used on the route?

(simplified) pronunciation guide for those who find these useful.

    Wiener Neustadt: Veener Noy-shtat
    St. Egyden: Sankt Egg-eden
Neunkirchen NÖ: Noyn - keer - ken*
Ternitz: Tare (rhyming with "spare") -nitz
    Pottschach: Pot-schack
    Gloggnitz: Self-explanatory
Schlöglmühl: Schlogle (rhyming with "Fogle") -mewl
    Payerbach-Reichenau: Pie-er-back Rike 'n' ow
    Küb: Koob
    Eichberg: Ike-Bairg
    Klamm-Schottwien: Klamm-Shot-Veen
    Breitenstein: Brighton-shtyne
    Wolfsbergkogel: Volfs-bairg-kogle
    Semmering: Zemmering
Steinhaus am Semmering: Shtyne-howce am Zemmering
    Spital am Semmering: Shpit-al etc
    Mürzzuschlag: Muerts-zoo-shlag

    * NÖ is an acronym that stands for Niederösterreich (Nee-der-urster-rike), or Lower Austria.

Note that I've represented ch with a k, but it's somewhere between that and a ccch, like "loch" in Scotland. Also note that this is simplified and more based on High German than local dialects.

I guess this is a very helpful guide for Alex or Matt for the upcoming Livestream, simontreanor81

    I prefer this explanation:
Q: "Willst du nach Neunkirchen fahren?/Do you want to drive to Neunkirchen?"
    A: "NÖ! / No!"

    :)

Which part of the route are you most proud of and which part would you have liked more time on? Also which non route train are you most likely to free roam drive on the route.

Will there be switcher locos in the freight yards. At the moment the V60, V100 and the G6 could be placeholders as long we will have austrian switchers.

Seeing as they forgot the E44 at Freilassing right next to the track on BSR I would expect a no. hopefully I am wrong.

    An addendum:

When will be the next route in Germany or Austria? - (In the current roadmaps, there is none to see in the next few months.)
And what happened to the austrian loco DLC?

In the TSW4 Roadmap from November 2023, they have been both mentioned in the 6 Months+ category, but during the last roadmaps they completely disappeared.

Can you tell us more about the distant scenery render distance, especially for the Xbox Series X?

Last few routes, especially very noticeable on Vorarlberg, the rendering on scenery on Xbox Series X was nowhere comparable to the other Gen9 PS5 console. It was scaled down to old consoles setting. This is not what the scenery should look like on a Gen 9 Series X.

The Semmeringbahn is a route that especially showcasing the scenery. I really hope that Xbox Series X players won't have to suffer again because of some configuration compromises regarding a shared build with the less performant Series S.

Yeah I also second the question about the Series X version, is there noticeable difference in quality between the Series X and PS5 (particularly far scenery/mountains)? I have both consoles so the answer will affect where I buy it if I do buy it.

Another question related to core (which could affect this route specifically): is DTG aware/working on the issue prevalent lately in Gen 9 consoles (and possibly PC?) where level of detail/texture quality seems to drop to blurry low res textures on many surfaces (cab interiors, station signage, platform textures, etc) out of nowhere (mainly toward end of route runs).

    Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed last night's preview stream, it was certainly a lot of fun for Matt, Lukas and me. The Q&A thread has now been closed as the preview stream is now over, but I've added the timestamped VOD to my original post and will add questions and answers to this post if you don't feel like watching through 3 1/2 hours.

As always, not all questions can be answered, either because there is no real answer (think "When is XY coming?") or because we can't answer it yet.

Why are there no Bmz (second class) or Bistro coaches?

Answer: Due to time constraints we had to focus on one type of coach. There are currently no plans to add other coaches to the route in future updates.

What can we expect in terms of long distance scenery on Xbox Series X/S?
Answer: The Xbox Series X/S are much more limited compared to other platforms. Performance should be improved compared to older routes, but while PC and PS5 allow up to 9 kilometers of long distance rendering, the Xbox Series X/S is limited to 5 kilometers.

Are there any services which run either part (the curvy hillside pass or the racetrack) only?
Answer: Not by default, but you can always spawn in on foot and take over a service at a station of your choice.

Did you create new assets (the viaducts, tunnel portals, buildings etc.)?

Answer: All the Viaducts are new assets, produced for this route specifically.

Are the new passenger improvements mentioned in the April roadmap article implemented?

Answer: Yes, all passenger improvements are part of core updates and thus available on all routes.

    Will there be passenger announcements?

Answer: There are no passenger announcements

Will 10+ trains be meeting up at the same time for transfers in Wiener Neustadt as in reality? With multiple trains at one platform?

Answer: Not quite as busy as the real world counterpart, the reason for this is that most of the trains you'd find here in real life are not in the game. But you can expect to see a good mix of passenger and freight AI trains.

    Are there neutral sections?

    Answer: Yes, there are.

    Why are railjet services included?

Answer: The route is set in 2024, where most services are run as RJ services in real life. Without them, the timetable would be quite empty.

Do the screens have any sort of functionality similar to the Vectron

    Answer: Yes, they do

Does the Taurus have the energy counter like the Vectron?

    Answer: Yes, it does.

Are the sounds of the Taurus new recordings?

Answer: The sounds are improved recordings from the DB BR 182 we took a few years ago.

Can the mirrors be opened on 1116?

Answer: They can not be opened. Reasoning for this is that they would serve no function in the game. The "bones" are there, but it was ultimately not implemented.

Can you change systems on the ÖBB 1116?
    Answer: Yes you can.

Will the 1116 layer onto Salzburg/Vorarlberg?
Answer: Yes, it will. The Salzburg layer will be available at release, with Vorarlberg following shortly after.

Why is there no left-hand traffic?
Answer: The Add-On is set in 2024, the real life route switched to right-hand traffic a few years ago.

Is the Class 47 livery authentic for this route?
Answer: No, it is using the standard Class 47 livery.

Why is the route using only new PIS screens?
Answer: At this point, most PIS screens on this route have been replaced by the modern PIS screens.
