Ok... so the class 08 is big enough to stand in, at 12 ft 8 5/8 inches tall, while the class 59 is not big enough to stand in at 12 ft 10 inches tall, and the SW1001 is "midget sized" at 14 ft 6 1/2 inches? Ah well that's one way to get banned from the forum I guess.
Yes, very. In real life it is much busier. Not my video, never been to New York, but here's a sample of what rush hour looks like in Secaucus Junction (1st station south of New York Penn) in real life:
Thanks for that, it is a lot busier. I wouldn't object to a commuter DLC even if it was just for four stops!
I feel like a genset would have been a better choice if they wanted a Sunnyside yard switcher- not only do those operate there in real life, but hey also operated on CSX, so they could add another paint scheme and have Oak Point Yard, Fresh Pond Yard, and Cumberland Yard switching as well. But I like the uniqueness of this older switcher loco, it should be fun to drive. I also must say I like the Metroliner cab cars for their history, even though admittedly the yellow stripes are a bit much.
an SW1001 but more or less the same size as the 1000R... https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/uploads/monthly_02_2011/post-6899-0-31341100-1298825776.jpg much bigger than the 08!
So how good are the chances they did at least a small NEC overhaul, like fixing the wrong speedlimits in the tunnels and such? I know the switcher wont run there but i guess these fixes are long overdue like the RT ones.
Mods ban Claire brown. One for being an ignorant piece of trash, 2nd for actually threatening another user.
I understand that you have your opinion, and I respect it, but you wrote it in a form that don’t give respect at the opinion of who like USA like me
Guys... I think DTG is trying to release a DLC every 2 weeks now... We had the BR 155, then 1 week later the Class 52 (I guess they just had it ready early), then 3 weeks later TVL (again, possibly making up for the time lost from the last release), then 2 weeks later we're getting the BR heavy freight pack, and if the achievements are still a good indicator we'll be getting the SW1000R two weeks from now. I'm sensing a *possible* pattern developing?
You know you've completely lost your mind when you start making spreadsheets... for fun... Given the two-week thingy, here's my best guess at the next few release, in an unnecessarily expandable and flexible manner: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TASybB6YsdA7RxPzzezxKQqOqKNGvGAex4PdS5Jx8JU/edit?usp=sharing
Yeah, quite possibly, but I don't have anything else to put there. Without any other information, those are the single most likely options for the next DLC, even though there's only a small chance of it happening- it's much more likely we'll see something else, but there's too many options there. The color code also kinda gives them priority, as they're not *complete* guesswork. After all, the BR 182 seemed like this too. What is this FGW 166 you speak of?
There is a folder in the game files with some assets in it. There is also a Class 43 FGW folder with some meshes but sadly with no power car so we can't get a "no logo" Class 43.
Interestingly, I just checked, and the models are still there, but not the textures, it seems... I have the vague feeling licensing was why this one never made it in, maybe GWR only wanted their best and most recent branding to be represented or something.
If it was licensing, DTG never would have started on it. The real problem, as Matt explained, is that there is nothing in the game to support swapping out the paintjob on an entire multiple unit. It’s one thing to change the paint on a pair of SD40-2s where one can be Yn3b and the other Yn2 and that’s completely okay. But on a 166, all 3 coaches need to be the same paint job. With the current setup, the result would be that almost every single 166 would have a mix of GWR and FGW-which is something that doesn’t happen.
Bit irrelevant, but once a Hull Trains Class 180 has a coach in the Barbie livery with the others in Dynamic Lines. Fun fact.
I don't think it means anything IMO. There are also WSR and SPG license plates with similarly random numbers and letters after the first 3. Specifically, WSR 302V and SPG 207X.
It would be awesome if the M3 Locomotive for the Lirr is released in July since Dovetail is releasing a Amtrak Budd cabcar Locomotive and the company I believe that made that cabcar Locomotive for Amtrak is the same company that did the M3 Locomotive. So dovetail does have the licensing to make the M3 Locomotive for the Lirr.
That would be sweet. I really like driving on LIRR, but it DESPERATELY needs more traffic- it's practically barren.
Sorry to slide into the ongoing discussion, but you guys seem to know much ;-) I noticed in RT, RSN & MSB that you can set the train destination indicator (don't know the correct word at the moment) to "Frankfurt Hbf" and "Würzburg". I'm living in the Rhein-Main area (Frankfurt) and commute daily with the S-Bahn (S1, S3/S4) ... so any speculation there could be a new line DLC? The V90 would fit perfectly too, have seen them as a teen very often here.
It's hilarious and depressing at how this community can be. I decided to check Dovetail fishing simulator or whatever it is and the community is terrifying there.
Ok here's my guess. The US hasn't gotten a route since LIRR. My guess is not long after the cab car and sw1000r are released we get a route. But not a short depressing route like NEC. A route that's long and has long freight trains and fast passenger action. That's my guess.
I took screens of all the destinations that seem "not reachable yet" to me. I think I've read "Mannheim Hbf" somewhere, but maybe that was just dreamed (Bamberg is close to Mannheim). Took the RE to Mannheim Hbf once to visit a festival ;-)
Considering that the NEC was released on 20th March and LIRR was released exactly 8 months later on 20th November. I would expect the next US route to be released exactly 8 months after LIRR that is on 20th July.
I feel like those would just be for unimplemented AI traffic and such. Most trains on MSB actually go to Frankfurt and Wurzburg, traffic from other S-bahn lines could be useful for AI traffic, and Mannheim I honestly have no idea, you may he onto something with that one, not familiar enough with German railroading to know myself.
raildan AI trains make totally sense, the S8 would fit too (Halle is close to Leipzig, would fit in RT).
Yeah, but everything they've ever released has been on a Thursday... the 20th is a Saturday. But if you go with the nearest Thursday, it lines up with my guess as well. I didn't notice the 8 month think, but noticed that they've been releasing DLC every 2 weeks and there were 3 loco DLC between MSB and TVL, so I guessed it would be 6 weeks before the next route, which I just randomly guessed would be American. If there are multiple ways to get to the same conclusion here, that does sound more likely. So yeah, I'd expect an Americsn route to drop around July 18-20. But it is still all speculation of course... Yeah, we gotta be careful here. Let's not build too much hype for something we don't really know exists yet.
