I came across a problem with AFB in the Voralberg 185.2. It doesn't work when I'm driving backward in Cab 1 or forward in Cab 2. It doesn't limit acceleration and only breaks when set to 0. The safety systems don't count properly as active. I always have all of them turned on but the Driver Assist tells me to turn on Sifa for additional points regardless. (Noticed that on the 185.2)
It happens in a couple of places on the route. In the area where it happens, on the OHLE masts, there are some blue signs. I think they represent a section gap. Just reset the MCB (no need to drop/raise pan) and carry on. So i think it's by design. Doesn't do it on the 185.2 loco, just the plastic units.
I LOVEcking HATE the 4024. I absolutely despise that POS! Manually lapped brakes? A cruise control with no numeric feedback, and which neither turns on nor off when you want it to? A completely MISERABLE driving experiance.
So, did a small little service and noticed something interesting that wasn't there last time I played the route, though admittadly it's been a while. I find the route stutters terribly for me. Either way, you can find this at the Lustenau branch, right as you enter it from the mainline.
All right, I've calmed down. The brakes are what they are; blame Bombardier. But I still have to register an objection to the way the cruise control interface was implemented by DTG. First, there is no numerical feedback; no way to tell what your speed setting actually is.* With every other cruise control in TSW, a popup tooltip tells you what your setting is; every time you adjust it, by keyboard or in-cab, you are told "110 km/h" or whatever. But not here. Instead you get the entirely unhelpful "Speed control proxy" text. And although the old "bug" marker is available on the old-school HUD, Vorarlberg was a foundational TSW4 route, and came with the new minimal HUD which has no such indication. Second, the translation of the on/off switch into keyboard command is ill-conceived. Yes, the real train has that oddball 3-position on-off-on switch. That is NOT a reason to try to represent it in keymap in ersatz up/down fashion like a light dimmer! In every other cruise control in the game, ctrl-R toggles it on and off. Press it once, on. Again, off. But here, oh, no! Instead it's either ctrl-R or ctrl-shift-R depending on which position the in-cab switch happens to be in, which causes nothing but confusion and fumbling, and frustration. *Yes, there is a readout in the MFD- in infinitesimally tiny type, so that if you zoom all the way in and squint really hard, maybe you can read it. Not helpful.
I noticed one EC train that wouldn't depart when sightseeing after completing a service, and went to investigate. I boarded and discovered that I couldn't get the passengers to board, because I could not open the doors (was only looking at the proper side of the platform). Then I loaded the service from scratch, and tried again - no luck. No luck until I discovered that I have to command the door to open on the wrong side - and then they opened at the platform. So it seems something is coded incorrectly in the 182 loco itself - left and right doors control is mixed up. Edit: I recalled that just after the route was released, I did another service with the 182 and encountered no such problem, altthough in that one (northbound) platforms were on the other side. I loaded it now to check, but now the problem is there too, So it is wrong no matter what side the platform is on, I tested on EN 40467 (platforms on the left) and EN 40414 (on the right). Edit2: Here is a video from two months ago (not mine) showing the very service I tried, where it works (via menu) properly - left doors commanded and left doors opened (around 2:15-2:20). So apparently (and also as I remember) it used to work well, and then got broken somehow.
Unfortunately, the front signals also work very poorly on this train 4024. If you drive at night you can hardly see anything. The high beam has almost no function at all. Unfortunately, this also affects some other trains, such as the ICE 403 and 406. The headlights and high beams have zero power. The BR 642 also doesn't have a really working high beam.
Most ppl on the forums will tell you that this is by design, the light is there for you to be seen, not to see the surroundings, etc, etc. But I watch quite a few German cab rides on youtube, including night rides, and I can confidantly say the 'high beam' setting on a German train does produce enough light to clearly see 20 to 40 meters ahead of you. This is definitely not accurately represented in game.
ok found out a minor bug, but weird one nonetheless - I encountered it in a REX1 service, direction Lindau: here is the spot with the bug approaching: aka departed from Rankweil and heading to Goetzis, HUD shows imminent slowdown to 60 and here is the buggy spot: as you can see, the signal clearly shows 60 km/h, there is even a magnet right there... and I am going full tilt... so what SHOULD have happened was, I would see the signal, prepare to slow down, start braking, get a notification to acknowledge, which I would do anyway, seeing a yellow... and it would display the 1000Hz thing etc.... but it doesnt happen... I mean, it is not a game-breaking bug, but in-game PZB rarely does stuff like this - usually I get slapped the other way around (like in Bremen Oldenburg, approaching Bremen in BR612 and get a 2000Hz despite going in crawling pace, which was probably a red from the other side accidentally active) I believe this is a bug, but if you can come up with some better explanation, let me know... save game thing it isnt - did this service yesterday, and it did the same thing update: a bit later there is a green signal with that 60 kmh signal underneath, this time it demands acknowledging... I mean, if it was just a warning of speed reduction ahead, why would the one in the pic have the magnet not active? I am confused
update: here is the next signal and here the PZB/acknowledge demand that is correct and was supposed to happen on the previous signal as well:
this is at a station I am running through in a different run (same pattern as the service I mentioned, just different departure time), and according to my humble research this should show that next main signal is stop... but next main signal is pure green dammit I am getting more and more confused by the minute
Yeah, that is a bug, if the following main signal is green, the wing should point to top right. ... and your previous post is a bug as well. Teams doing signalling for german and austrian content are doing pretty bad job in last two years in general.
will try a regular S-Bahn service run when I get home... those most probably also stop at this station, so I will check if that signal changes somehow
Hi, I do not often drive the S Bahn Vorarlberg but I gave it a try today and I think the 4024 feels a bit overpowered given its actual power-to-weight ratio and the figures I found. I measured an in-game acceleration of 1,02 m/s² instead of 0,92 m/s² IRL (with "Power Drive" which is a kind of boost mode), on a flat track. It also seems a bit quick to reach 120-140 km/h, in TSW it doesn't seem that much slower than a BR 423 or 425 while actually being way less powerful (13,1 kW/t in Normal Drive mode against 22,4 kW/t). I also did not find any way to switch between the Eco Drive, Normal or Power Drive mode.
Subway#2400, can't answer your question directly, but was watching a cabride video yesterday with the 4024 and it was getting from 0 to 100 km/h in about 42 seconds consistently. I was timing it.
Thanks for your input, I just tried the same experiment multiple times and got 37 seconds in TSW on a flat track with a smooth start gradually increasing the throttle to 100% (20% starting then increasing gradually to 100% reached at around 12 km/h) and 35 seconds with max throttle from a standstill. I don't know how the driver in the cabride video you watched was driving, nor the power mode he selected, but in TSW the 4024 would match the cabride video at around 90% throttle and a smooth start. Then I tried to directly start from a standstill with 90% throttle, and I got a 0,89 m/s² acceleration (0-50 km/h) which is more prototypical according to the specs (0,92 m/s² in "Power" mode). So maybe the 4024 would feel more realistic with a little less tractive effort.
Whilst wandering around Feldkirch looking for collectables, I discovered you can walk to the station forecourt / bus station by following the route off platform 1 I've marked with an arrow (no mods required): I then discovered that Feldkirch station has been renamed to "Text" :
At Feldkirch I also discovered that at the far end of the subway (platforms 4/5 end) there is a corner where passengers are spawning from nowhere, as well as strange black stuff growing out of the wall.
Just finished driving service R1 (5554) and I got stopped several times by PZB. I had acknowledged and was moving along at 40 km/h and wham, penalty stop. Have no idea why it did this.
if you are below 40 or driving from stopped you get into wachsam/restricted at 45 instead of 85. if the yellow 1000hz lamp is still on you will get a penalty stop as soon as you hit 45 km/h since it registered you are overspeeding.
daanloman#3930, as noted above I was moving at about 40 km/h when it stopped me. I was getting close to the red signal and starting to brake for it. Was almost like I passed a 500 hz magnet even though there isn't one.
hmm. in the german part of that route there are 500hz magnets. I can try and play the trip tomorrow afternoon to see if I run into any issues. do you remember where roughly you got the problems?
Not really, I was following another train and kept running up on it which caused me to see the "expect stop" double reds on away signals. I would acknowledge, start braking down to get under 40 km/h and as I got closer start slowing down to 20 or so. It was somewhen in the second slowing that it caught me. This happened several times as I got close to the movement ahead.
You know that if you used "PZB Release" within 550 metres prior to an active 500 Hz magnet, it will stop you no matter what speed you're driving ("Unerlaubte Befreiung" / "illegal Release"), as it is the penultimate measure to prevent a SPAD (before the final 2000 Hz). 1000 Hz: warning, slow down 500 Hz: come to a halt! 2000 Hz: Stop! In the name of love...
This was happening in Austria, not Germany, so no 500 hz magnetic was involved. Also was still seeing the 2000 hz warning box in the upper right.
You mean using PZB Befehl without dispatcher order? Won't be happy for a looooong time after that... because that's not accidentally but passing a red on purpose then. Say goodbye and probably hello to jail.
Due to the 500 making sure you're slow enough and the 2000 stopping you, at least a crash should be prevented because you'll be stopping inside the calculated "Durchrutschweg" after a main signal, making sure you're not standing on a path set for another train that would crash into you. Using Befehl disables the emergency 2000 Hz braking, and therefore requires a dispatcher call, with the dispatcher dictating the order to pass the signal which requires the driver to fill out a form (for his own proofing). Befehlsformular example:
ÖBB-4024: - The yellow “HS-Aus” indicator light does not work. This should light up when the main switch is turned off. - The white “Entkuppeln Zugverband” indicator light doesn’t work either. This should also light up when the train is uncoupled.
After installing the Semmering map, model 4024 from the Semmering map and Voralrberg collided. In the Voralrberg map, the offer actually shows 4024 Semmering, or rather the total number of services is taken from Semmering. However, the Voralrberg version will eventually be inserted into the map (can be recognized by the horn controls) Edit: Both versions of the 4024 are then available in SPAWN mode (Semmering and Voralrberg)
At the entrance to Lindau Hbf, all trolley gates are missing the upper end section ..... and one has trolley holders, which probably shouldn't be there anymore
PS5 Lindau - Reutin - fault in the trolleys at the entrance from Bregenz Lindau - Reutin - strangely ended trolleys and one trolley holders, which probably shouldn't be there anymore
PS5 It seems a bit of a problem, as it is a fairly common phenomenon - fault in the trolleys At the railway branch on the main line to Lustenau, bridge area Border Austria / Germany, isolated area near Lochau - Horbranz
This problem still persist....AI can't open the door and won't leave the station..... EDIT: The problem will probably indicate the cables to the crisis, they are not in the BR101 and IC wagon...... With the managed service, it can be controlled via the "opposite side". But in the context of AI operation, it is a big problem, because the set does not leave and blocks the operation. I hope that DTG will respond to this soon
PS5 - journey mode - service 50580 Wolfurt - Salzburg BR185.2, safety systems enabled, cab properly set, but only 35 AP. At the end i got 0 AP for safety systems. I tried different setups, and nothing helped. So I decided to try it in timetable mode with the Vectron and no problems, get 65AP. I tried two other journeys with the BR185.2, and still the same issue with scoring. DTG, please fix it.
PC Service for OBB 4024 REX 1 (5599) Lindau - Bludenz is no playable because service for DB BR 182 EN (40465) Zurich - Zagreb didn't depart from Feldkirch.
The BR182 is buggy... The train in the morning the same issue. DTG Harry Can you check if this on the todo list? Thanks
couple of those don't seem to be able to close their doors. that's the bug showing on multiple routes now.
The problem with opening doors on EN services (MRCE 182) remained unfixed, i.e. a non-functional AI service on these EN trains, which results in traffic and subsequently other services being blocked. It is a great pity that such a large and comprehensive update was not able to somehow eliminate this rather fundamental problem
...it's a damn shame, this was no doubt the number one problem to fix with this update amongst the sea of recently introduced one. Honestly, I would not consider this core update as fully carried out until the massive door issue gets sorted out. Please someone at DTG, make sure that there's door side opening functionality and parity with all four Tauruses, the Vectron and the 101. With all of the passenger wagon types they can pull. (Yes, I do know for example that 101+its own wagons works already. I am just not sure of which combinations don't) EDIT: To add to this, apparently according to another user for example now the 182+Dostos shows the bug too? So yeah, those should probably be tested with all these locos as well.
DTG Matt please can you check this and deliver a quick fix for this? This is a large gamebraker. Maybe delete this whole train if you have no sub loco. And look further on for a long term Solution
For example, the solution would be to replace these EN connections with a set of type (2x) OBB Taurus + OBB Bmz
Unnecessarily strong words and high expectations ..... it would be nice, but DTG thinks differently in many ways ....... But on these EN, if I understand correctly, there are more OBB cars than DB, so that would definitely be a solution
