Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition
This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG.
Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition.
    Rules:
    • TSC only shots allowed.
    • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).
    • The Judge of the week's decision is final.
    • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so.
    • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum.
Entries will close at 9:00 PM BST on Friday, April 19th 2024 and will be judged by me - Craigie-C
In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM BST Sunday, April 21st, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll.

Theme for this week : "Trackside Signage"
Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish.
Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.

Talyllyn Railway E Class '6' 'Duncan' reverses into Tywyn Wharf with a Christmas train of 4 coaches coming from it's return journey departure at Dolgoch as a cold and moody Welsh night besets the railway with some cold visitors awaiting the arrival of the train. Good thing they had the trackside history board of the area to keep them occupied waiting for the arrival!

Oh didn’t realise the loco in that route was a SAR Class 24 that’s awesome! One of those locos got preserved and entered special commercial company led service in northern Queensland, Australia operating services from Cairns to Kuranda for a while which is a gorgeous mountain section of railway on the Tablelands System. Only ran for a few years I think, around 2001-2004. Apologies that this is off topic but I like talking about topics related to railways of my country / state; and it’s an interesting factor to note that locomotive could be then used as a potential already made loco for the game to run on a possible Kuranda Scenic Railway route. The other 2 trains that run there are the Queensland Rail 1720 and 2000 Class which have no made examples for TSC yet since they’re purely Australian Queensland locomotives and the development scene for this place of the world is completely nonexistent which is a real shame; I hope someone comes along to make Australian Queensland content one day. Or any other state of Australia for that matter; but preferably Queensland for me. ;)
Some photos of it doing its run I mentioned; the specific loco was ‘3620’. I wonder if you can get the same numbered loco in the game; you probably can!

It did get bit of a facelift, got converted to an oil burner instead of a coal burner for the runD received an additional number on the buffer plate that being ‘0401’ for an official service number to differentiate from the Queensland Rail 3600 Class and received “Cairns Kuranda Steam Railway” branding but oh well gotta make do with what we got! I at least made a rough track plan on imported terrain for the KSR not sure if it will go any further than there since I have never built a route before and have barely any experience. :(

    Anyway for going off topic.

Does Australia have the same narrow gauge as South Africa? I guess they both would have been made by British. That's neat they used those in both countries!

Guys, much as I love your enthusiasm for all things rail, could you be so good as to take this discussion to a new thread and keep this one purely for Unofficial Screenshots. Many thanks.

Welcome to sunny Baltimore Maryland where we see HHP8 659 enjoying it's time out of retirement on it's new role as a cab car for regional trains. We're 96 miles to Washington DC and will be there in about an hours time.

While the MP 63 version is prettier, this is funnier. So here it is, a Class 43 at Milepost 43.

No worries, the original rule is Friday evening but with contributors and judges worldwide, it often slips.
I see you have 43 messages now. Is that an indication? ;-) I just realize that your profile picture is a Swallow HST.

Right, judging time is upon us.

In 3rd place, with a simple but effective take on the theme is vogelm10 with this shot of the HHP8 in Baltimore. Can't say I know a lot about US railroads, but I really like how it's framed and the inclusion of the milepost.
    3rd.jpeg
In 2nd place, with a take on the theme I didn't see coming is Blazin with a brilliant shot of a TGV Réseau blasting across the LGV. I like this one a lot, being a fan of this route myself. 2nd.jpg And in 1st place, taking us forward to next week will be cscarpenter. This shot of the '21st Century trackside signage' was a stroke of genius (with some very appropriate graffiti). The Jubilee Class 66 in the corner just adds to an already great screenshot.
cscarpenter will be taking our Virtual Golden Master Key for Week 17.
