You mean special dynamic weather? As APSWEP replaces the core ToD weather blueprints (RW_Clear, RW_Cloudy etc) they are used in QD if DynamicClouds are turned OFF, else the SilverLining environment is called as SL_Clear, SL_Cloudy are then used.
In the reply from Kim Olesen - post #3 in this thread You asked what the trick to getting the AP Weather in QD and he shows you.
It's not buggy, Youtube embedded videos need your consent, which is why you must accept cookies for this forum.
They could easily have made it a clickable notice, include hyperlink below the inline, a notice, whatever. Is a bug and bad programming. If they wanted to solve this issue they could have. I am not saying it must be fixed, I do realize life and business cases are full of priorities that often do not allow to do what is "best".
Does APSWEP have to be manually activated or is it automatically done for all scenarios? My Dynamic Clouds is unticked in the Settings menu.
For a QD it should always be active, if the route you're running on has the AP TimeOfDay files installed. Which route are you having issues with?
Let me add to this: Some freeware routes use the Kuju TimeOfDay files, so if you want ap weather on freeware/very old stuff, install the AP ToD files there as well.
Doesn't AP replace Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\TimeOfDay and partially Weather files anyway by default? V1 did.
There are two QD scenarios listed in the Boston-Albany route. Eastbound and Westbound, according to RWTools. I applied the AP seasonal files (Winter-Sprong-Summer-Fall) to the ToD folder in Boston-Albany and changed the files to the current naming configuration which is prefaced with GN- so that the files will be recognized by the route. In reading the AP manual, I think I now understand that I have to select a particular weather for a particular scenario unless I choose Dynamic Weather which can change the weather pattern on the fly. Is this correct?
By default, the weather patterns in QuickDrive are fixed. SL_Clear, SL_Cloudy etc when DynamicClouds are activated, else RW_Clear, RW_Cloudy from the Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Weather folders are used for QD. These should already be AP weather patterns. So by choosing Cloudy for your QD and DynamicClouds off, you should get AP sky with fair clouds. But Boston-Albany TimeOfDay files must be named: SP-RW3-Autumn.bin SP-RW3-Spring.bin SP-RW3-Summer.bin SP-RW3-Winter.bin Naming them GN-xyz won't work . The SP prefix originates from their classic Stevens Pass for RailWorks 3.
These are the folders AP V1 does install to - including Kuju\RailSimulatorCore and ELAP RailSimulator. Default Kuju TimeOfDay and weather was automatically changed to AP. Leaving that out would make no sense. (And by accident the Signal EP was included in V1 )
