I have been trying to add an additional loco (DL-109) to the scenario Boston Outbound in the Boston-Albany route. Knowing that there might be installation problems, being that the scenario is a Career scenario, I converted it to a Standard scenario. I have done this with the Portland route Rigby Yard Outbound scenario, with no problems. The OE PT offers three loco's in this scenario. An F7, GP40 and a SD40-2. I have added the Berkshire SPS700, Alco S2 and the RDC Buddliner, giving each one a driver so they will run. I have applied the same process for the DL-109 assigning a driver from the Build function. The loco appears where I have placed it in the scenario, but TS does not recognize it as my arrow cursor does not change to a hand figure when I run it over the nose and body of the 109. Any thoughts appreciated.
I was amending a scenario a few days ago and when I placed a new loco and tried to add the driver icon it would not. I had to go close to the loco and only then could I add the Driver. Not sure why though
My ultimate goal has been to create a QD for the DL-109 out of Boston to Worcester using passenger cars from the VNHRR Springfield route and seeing that I was not able to use the Build function to create a new QD consist of this loco and cars, I have been experimenting with the Boston Outbound scenario. I took this career scenario and changed it to a Freeroam which allowed me to add the DL-109 with cars as a Service 1 set up. I was considering purchasing Railworks Enhancer 2 soley for the QD build function but now that I have a working passenger train, I'm not so sure that I will get the RWE2 program after all.
Layer 1: The Driver activates the train (engine is running) and allows AI to drive it to meet objectives. Layer 2: In Career-Standard, either you assign a player train (which is a checkbox in the service config, access with double click driver icon or timetable view) or else it's just an observable scenario. May need to untick previous one first. In Timetabled and Free Roam, the player can overtake any AI train (possible to start with and without a player train). Hope it helps in the future.
Thanks for the info but it is a bit above my understanding of what works and how it works, at this point in my learning about TSC and the Build function. Perhaps you can help me here. 1. Is there a tool tips function for when I place my mouse cursor over an Icon? Not sure what they all mean and control such as the icons at the bottom of the Properties Box flyout that have check boxes? 2. What is the procedure for making a switch active that is inactive? I'm guessing it is a blueprint change and how do you read/convert a pak file? 3. The only source I can find for a Creator's manual is in the RW folder. It looks to be 10 years old! Is there another Creators manual anywhere that is more precise in its instructions and descriptions? Thanks
The best is watching people explain it. Check our Matt Peddlesden's fine tutorial series on Youtube. Whole Playlist
I prefer other videos - it is very irritating listening to him as he stops because somebody posted something on the chat. It feels that chat is more important than what we are being told
There's lots of other tutorials, but Matt explains a lot of stuff others don't. Especially the scripting stuff is highly informative. Though his face is often in the way, but the chat reminds him of that
Thanks for the link. I honestly find it difficult to pick up some of his words, me not being British. No offense. What I am specifically looking for are some instructions on how to make an inactive switch, active. What file is this data in and what needs to be changed.
