Hello. I'm looking for good quality, clean sound recordings of AWS and other cab alerts and alarms. Tried YouTube, but they tend to have a lot of background noise, engines, or wheel roar. Any idea where I can find some? Thanks. Take care, Mr Wyndham
What is wrong with those in the game? The are all files which can be copied from on loco/unit to another. I did not like the new sounds on a modern Diesel so I used the sound files from an older loco. Peter
Now that I found what I assume are the sound files, what can I use to convert them to a usable file type, .mp3 or whatnot?
The sound files in the game are a *.dav file you convert that to a wav file using DAV Decoder. https://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=18204 But if you already know the AWS sound from say a Class 47 is better than the one you have just Copy the file you want in to the Sound folder of the loco/unit you wish to change. The Rename the default file from 50aws.dav to 50aws.bak which the game then ignores. Rename the copied file from 47aws.dav to 50aws.dav (or what ever the file is called.) If you don;t like the result you can delete the copied file and rename the *.bak to *.dav. Peter
