Seeing as the 90-kilometer TSC route Konstanz to Villingen (and it's 53 km extension to Hausach) is made by TSG, and they've already released a route for TSW (admittedly, Niddertalbahn is much shorter), I was wondering is there any chance this route could make it's way to TSW in the future, like other TSC routes have? Just seems like it could be a logical next step for TSG to release a long route after Niddertalbahn.

Now, I understand you can't just straight port a route between the two games, but the research for the route is already done, isn't it? And as for rolling stock, we already have the BR111 from that route in the game. Now, maybe this should have gone to the suggestions forum instead, but I was wondering if, for example, Maik Goltz himself could chime in on this, is it something that could potentially happen in the future?

I remember Maik saying on rail-sim.de that something like Konstanz-Villingen is not to be seen anymore in the future, being not viable economically.

And yeah, with the extension to Hausach it's one of the best routes ever made for a train simulation.

A pity, in that case. Now, I don't own this route in TSC (I mostly play American routes in that game), but it looks interesting and it's made by TSG, after all. Maybe I should look into at least getting it for TSC then.

    Well worth getting in TSC.

Shame if it's unlikely to come to TSW, but never say never...

I've found the post from Maik I had in the back of my mind.

    Autotranslated:

"It just has to be worth it for the manufacturer and it doesn't (anymore). Routes of this quality, such as the Rollbahn, can no longer be made without losses. With qualities like Konstanz-Villingen it has never actually made sense to do this commercially. Expenditure versus return contradicts all sound commercial sense. So there can only be routes like those built by RSSLO. Fast, pragmatic, medium quality. And RSSLO has completely different financial requirements than a German manufacturer has. If it were somehow worthwhile to do something like that, there would have been a lot more manufacturers. This also applies to the TSW. Building the route there is much more complex and therefore less lucrative for most manufacturers, despite the better distribution on consoles. Of course, there are a few more factors that come into play. The bottom line is that I unfortunately have to say again that you (those interested in the content) can be happy that a manufacturer dares to produce such things. This is not as easy as it seems and not as fruitful as it might seem from the outside. It also takes a huge amount of patience and knowledge to produce these things. People who can AND want to do that don't grow on a tree. They have to be cultivated with great effort."

Thanks for digging that up. Ironically, it seems that despite the larger userbase of the consoles is offset by TSW being more time consuming/expensive to produce? Ouch.

Anyways, I looked at the store page for the TSC route, and it mentions that quick drive has AI traffic, I assume the same is true for the Hausach extension?

I'm sure it is a requirement for route DLC published by DTG via Steam to have AI traffic QuickDrives since at least 2015 (not sure about exact date), so yes.

In any other case you may contact Kim Olesen , the master of QD template creation with his randomised "RealDrive" QDs.

No, it wasn't a requirement at all.

Ok, but I've not come across empty QDs unless on really old routes. So it was more of a self imposed thing then. Fine.

Anyway, Hausach extension has AI :)

And I love it and am thankful for what you and friends have given us with your super solid "standing the test of time" releases. This will be enjoyed for many more years to come.:D (And I'm much more happy with the scenery and lighting in TSC ;) courtesy of AP and his TimeOfDay palette). Thanks from a Black Forest local.

While I completely agree to that, DTG seems to have a different view on that, tough.

They've abandoned their support for the PC Editor community since more than 6 months (dating back to 12 October).

No interest in helping those who want to dedicate their free time and all of their efforts (even without any financial benefits of doing so) in the end helping them (maybe selling more or making TSW become a better game). Yet, we're not even sure whether our projects can be released as freeware.

Many creators already abandoned their projects because DTG didn't want to support them. Well, at least I hope this pays of well for the franchise in the future.

    Sad, Sad, Sad.
