Ice 3 On Foreign Routes

    I am interested in stretching the legs of these trains on routes abroad with overhead cantery. However, I keep getting traction locks, except once in France, but now I am getting locked up again. The display shows my train is energised, but sometimes the battery reads zero volts. I could get power because I cycled the MCB, but that wasn't working.
    The weird part is that all the other trains I drive, including the Vectron and the ICE 1, have no issues driving in the USA and UK. This situation makes me wonder if I have missed something on the ICE 3. Could anyone tell me the probable cause of my issue? Thanks!

    There's been a recent issue where first of all, after spawning the ICE 3, even on german routes or the training center, you have to open and close the MCB so it actually draws power because it didn't before, which is weird.
    The issue with the battery was there since the beginning; despite it running, the voltage display is stuck at zero, and will only actually move up if you turn it off and on again, which is stupid

    You aren't really intended driving a german only unit in other countries. The reason others may work is for one, on the Vectron you can select the different voltage systems so that's fine, and for the ICE 1... lucky you that it seems to match I guess
    only thing that can help you out is the godmode mod, where you can turn on the off-the-rails mode, which is usually present in some Creators Club scenarios and always active on the Training Center apparently.

    when you are in-game and spawned your ICE 3 in lets say now the US, you then hover your mouse to the top of the screen (unlock it with rightclick but you surely know that) there'll be a small bar with some buttons. click on the button on the left saying upload_2024-4-28_11-26-30.png where you then scroll to the bottom (you can also just type some mess into the two search bars so it doesnt show any results and automatically shorten the tab) where you then have at the bottom the part "More Options", where under "Universal Electrification" you can set it from Auto (Default) to On (Force Current):

    after that you should be able to move regardless of the power system being correct or not. heck, you can even drive electric trains on places without any overhead lines too, as it still forces an electrical current to the train.

    Thanks for your advice. God mode would be my best bet in this case. However, I don't think even ICE 1 is the only one lucky because even 425 can run on a foreign route. Maybe 403 and 406 are the problematic ones.

    An ICE (3?) set made it into London St Pancras back in 2010. I can't remember if it was locohauled once through the channel tunnel or run under its own power.

    It ran by itself judging by the videos. It was the ICE 3MF 4685.

    It was hauled into Britain, i believe it only ran the final 500 yards into St Pancras under it's own power.

    Actually, it was a testrun with 300 (test-)passengers to prove, that a two part train can be safely evacuated in the tunnel in case of emergency, to get a permission to establish a direct Frankfurt-Köln-London trainlink. It was hauled by a locomotive (Traxx Class 186) in the tunnel, that already had the permission for the tunnel, to have a train equipped with the security system used in the tunnel for TSI compliance. More or less, back then, only trains 400 meters long in one part were allowed to cross in the tunnel, while the ICE3 is well, only 200 meters in one part.
