Hello there, Everytime I stop playing Train Sim World 4, and come later back is all my in-game progession lost. Things like; Settings, HUD, Levels, Drived Kilometers etc. I really want to fix this issue but don't know how. I hope someone can help me. Friendly greetings!
This is weird, cus it seems to work fine for everyone else, including myself. I don't think that's the fault, but have you created an Dovetail Live account? Maybe that's the key to saving your game settings etc. otherwise I have no clue, sorry, maybe someone else is smarter than me
This is an interesting problem. Your progress is stored in Documents>My Games. Is it possible you have deleted that folder? Perhaps verify files on Steam. Is there any progress that is retained?
OneDrive issue? Make sure you are NOT using this for saving games. (That's probably down to TSW not saving to AppData but Documents - against the Microsoft guidelines. Documents can rest in the cloud, which is not good for files accessed by games, as direct I/O access is needed and the delayed cloud syncing can prevent the game from saving data.) The habit of saving app data to Documents is old, but not supported by MS. Its advantage is that users will backup this folder, as it contains their own private data too. Its disadvantage is that Windows will initially put that folder into the OneDrive cloud, which you must disable manually.
I have completely disabled OneDrive on my end (use Google for how to), my Documents folder is on my local PC - but maybe DTG-Chris can provide a command line option for defining a custom save path? People were reporting issues for Euro Truck Simulator 2 too, it's providing a "-home <PATH>" option for defining your preferred path. MS has issued the guideline to save to %APPDATA% long ago, but some habits are "sticky" - they can't be blamed. Note that this is just a suggestion - I don't know if that is actually the cause of your issues.
Hi treinspotter#6958 , OneDrive is one of many things that can cause issues. If you are having trouble with save games on a Windows PC, you may find this guide useful: How to Resolve Profile and Save Game Issues on PC
same here I hate One Drive so I got it disabled if I want to backup files I will do it to my extern drive
